What do you think about a Cruise Ship with Cruise Terminal set? I think that would complete the look with the Harbor. Any thoughts?

I thought it might be fun to see what peoples predictions are on which sets may be discounted on Lego's Black Friday event this year. Of the so called exclusives possible candidates imo are as follows: 30 percent off each Saturn V (maybe a repeat of last year) Treehouse Flintstones Disney Train and Station (maybe a repeat of last year) Tantive IV Vestas Wind Turbine Roller Coaster - I really have a feeling that this will be in. I would love to hear everyone else's predictions.

Does the tightness of the seals affect the value of sets? The seals on my imperial shuttle aren't as tight as I would like them to be.

So, this is the first leak to come out about 2017, courtesy CM4sci. My immediate thoughts are that it´s time to sell those remaining Guggenheims. It also points to big SOH being retired if there is a Sydney cityscape. The Technic BMW motorbike also sounds interesting and there is confirmation of a new City Police station as per the 3 year rule. Architecture Sydney (21032) Chicago (21033) London (21034) Guggenheim Museum (21035) City Gangster Squad (60135) – 5.99 Police Chase (60138) – 29.99 Sports Plane (60144) – 9.99 Money Truck – 14.99 Beach Buggy – 9.99 Monster Truck – 9.99 Fishing Boat (60147) – 19.99 Truck with Catamaran – 19.99 …

With the illegal reproduction of LEGO minifigures and bricks by counterfeiters on the rise, I thought it would be a help to the community as a whole to show how to identify fakes and frauds. I am quite unfamiliar myself as to what to look for. Photos would be appreciated as well. Thanks... So my question is this...How does a LEGO fan and collector identify a counterfeit LEGO minifigure or brick?

I've bought about 150+lbs of bulk LEGO over the last couple of years. Some lots more organized than others. So I have grabbed a few buckets and started to sort to sell or keep. I'm finishing up a Toy Story 3 7597 Western Train Chase to get rid of. Missing most of the figures. It'll be 98% complete with a few pieces missing or substituted. Next up I have this. Most likely a keeper. Batman 7888. Missing book 1. The Icecream Truck is somewhere. I remember seeing most of it with the stickers applied. I think I have the minifigures. This was from the very 1st bulk lot I got on EBay and last big one. I had no idea the value of 7888 at the time. I probably paid too muc…

Over the last 2 years LEGO has been taking more and more (legal) action against German retailers and YouTubers they consider detrimental to their business. Legal alternative brick brands have gotten pretty big in Germany recently - you might say that just LEGO's actions themselves have pushed the alternatives' popularity further (cue "Streisand effect"). Obviously TLG is losing (German) market shares big enough to make them unhappy - their answer being to send out their lawyers to take care of it (instead of making their own products better or setting affordable prices again, for instance). Now, while the "Brick Wars" are getting more and more intense in Germany, I'v…

As an American, all of the recent discussions of the Brexit vote have really been intriguing. With the votes being tabulated as I write this, what do non-US LEGO investors/resellers think of the situation and its effects on the various LEGO secondary markets? PS: I usually don't want to get too involved in politics, but this has definite effects on all of us. Please be respectful of others and their opinions. Thanks...

https://www.stonewars.de/news/lego-preiserhoehung-september-2022/ Looks like adult oriented sets are going to be hit the hardest. If a set is hit by a price increase, you can be fairly sure it's not going to retire. More than half of the sets not set to have price increases, are retiring at the end of the year. Like every other company, they got used to those "record profits" year after year, and don't want to give ground due to rising costs on their end.

Hey all, (Apologies in advance, I know there's been a thread or two on this but couldn't find them, please merge if so desired :-) I am in the process of getting sales tax exemptions as we're going to be doing a LOT more Lego buying this year and I'm tired of applying for refunds from the state. The online ones are pretty straightforward and I'm getting those all done, but can anyone tell me how it works for brick and mortar stores? Do I head to my nearest WalMart and apply there, or do I have to go through a corporate office? And if the former, will the exemption hold at all Walmarts, or do I have to apply at each one individually? Also, do they give y…

A couple of rumors over at Eurobricks have sprung up leading to a few lists of possible sets for the year 2015. I have no idea how accurate they are but the source allegedly has been fairly reliable in the past but as anything, take it with a grain of salt. In any case, this main post shall be used to list all the 2015 sets as they come in. Feel free to use this topic for all related discussion. "You don't know you're in the good old days until you've actually left them." I am not sure how many of you have read my postings over the last 2 months since I joined in January, so I will give you a very brief intro to my background. While I am a relatively new Brickpicker member, I am certainly not new to this game. I was in it huge from 2004-2007, Had many UCS xwings, UCS Tie Interceptors, UCS ISD, UCS Y-wings, UCS Snowspeeders, CTT, Cloud Cities etc. While I was not an emazer level operation, I was running about 3,000-4,000 in volume on an average month and reached Bronze Powerseller level, so not too bad. However, in 2007, du…

Many years ago, I picked up two used but complete Rahkshi at a Salvation Army for $2 apiece. I always regret not getting more, becaue they had all of the Rahkshi, Bohrok, Nuva, and some other stuff. I went back a while later to buy some more, but they THREW IT ALL AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was eather some load of crap broken piece or lead poisoning scare, and I couldn't reason with them. My ten year old self had to stand buy as they dumped dozens of Bionicle, as well as all their other toys, into a big bin to be dumped. JERKS!!!!!!! > >:-( :ohh: :grrr: :ahhh: :vampire:

Hi everyone. Well, after thinking about it for the last couple years, I decided to start up a real life physical retail store selling lego. I’ve been working on getting the space ready for the last couple months, and will open the doors this saturday, October 20th. Starting out, I will be the only employee, but I’m sure that will change very soon. I’ll at least have to hire someone to host the birthday parties we will offer. Since i’m doing this independently, instead of joining a franchise like bricks and minifigs, i don’t exactly know what all to expect, but i’m sure it will be fun. If anyone here is in the rhode island area, come check out the store and say hi.

From The Brick Fan: As we mentioned in our post of the July 2014 Store Calendar, there will be an exclusive LEGO set being revealed at the 2014 San Diego Comic Con. Brickset has updated their database with a listing for an Ultimate Collector Series (UCS) set with set number 76023. It is listed under the DC Comics/Universe Super Heroes theme. As we all know, SDCC is the mecca of comic and movie news so putting two and two together, I can say with a 99.9% certainty that it will most likely be the Tumbler that we did an article about back in February. If this is true, the Tumbler will be the second Batman-themed set with UCS label with The Batmobile (7784) being the …

About 6 weeks ago I got banned from the Lego.com site for being too good of a customer (buying too many items). I challenge you to try getting banned from virtually any other retail store for buying too many items. Coach handbags is possibly the only one I can think of. Can you imagine getting banned from a car dealership for buying too many cars? How about McDonald's banning you for buying too many hamburgers? In fact, according to the New York Times many retail stores have VIP and concierge services which are extended to customers who spend a lot of money each year. Not only did I not get such a benefit extended to me, I was told to hit the bricks (pun intended). What t…

When it comes to investing in BIG sets it is common opinion that NONE of them will ever be a real loser. This is my opinion, too, but there are some popular big sets I think are fairly overrated and will in the end "lose" the race for becoming big investment winners after EOL. I do not intend to p*ss anyone off here, criticising their favorite sets. But as it is a common practice in this forum to tell people to "buy, buy, buy!" I thought it might not be a bad idea to make people think again about buying at least in some cases. In the end, of course, this is also to tell you my opinion on sets I just don't understand why they are being hyped the was they are - and to get t…
