Star Wars Sets

Whether you love them or hate them, the Star Wars™ Sets are a huge success!

Amazon price matched Walmart's price for the Malevolence. No tax makes this a real 25% discount. I do believe this is the lowest I have seen the set. Picked one up. LINK

In the Star Wars universe and EU, I'm sure they have some hi-tech train system for transportation, so the question is... Would it work to bring one as a LEGO set? Just curious because I ran into this page will searching: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/train Discuss!

Many of you have seen how awesome the new 2015 Star Wars Battle Packs are. I just have to give a shout out to this one and the new multi-stud technology gun that comes with it. Very cool! My son and I built the 2009 Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser (8039) the other night and for us, it's a great time for this battle pack to be released. "We need more Senate Commandos!" Well, here we go!

  5. Is anyone having a hard time trying to find Planet Coruscant? I am dead serious. 75007 is the only one of Series 3 I cannot seem to find at all. For me, Walmart was the first to get Planets Series 3 in but for some reason that wasn't there; only the TIE Bomber/Asteroid Field and Jedi Starfighter/Kamino. Target just got some in last month but guess what? They don't have it either! What the feck?! Has anybody found the Coruscant Planet at their local stores and if so which one? I can't believe this and it's driving me nuts....

  9. Hi All--First time poster, long time builder. Anyways the time has come to thin the sets and my brother mentioned I should pop over here and get some info before selling so I'm not leaving any money on the table. Here's the scenario I have a few sets I want to sell but am wondering: does it matter if there is no box? I have two UCS sets (xwing and tie interceptor from 1999) that have sat on a shelf but the boxes are long gone. Is it worth it trying to find a box? does the value plummet without it? I want to buy either the death star or if the wife approves--the super star destroyer. Which would you guys vote for as a fun set to build first and re-sale-ab…

For all those who live outside of the U.S. more specifically the European Union, Canada, and Australia, how popular are Star Wars Legos? I hear the Star Wars Movies are not as popular outside of the U.S. and was wondering if that had any effect on lego sales? Do Original Trilogy sets sell the most? Are people pumped up about the new movies coming out which might indicate a jump in lego sales? And lastly is there a large following of adult collectors?

I am negotiating with this guy on craigslist whether or not this is a "Good deal" (check attached) All of that for $150, but I knocked him down to $125. He has all the figs, and instruction manuals, except... *drumroll* no boxes. Is this even worth it? I am looking into investing/collecting, and honestly I think this guy is clueless that the Watto figure alone is $50. My gut is telling me to get it, because it will look nice as a whole, but with no boxes, I don't want this to hurt me in the future when I decide to let these go if I do so. Thoughts?

A few years a go, a kid was trying to give me this set for free, and I ended up giving him a light-up Mace Windu for it. It is missing a few pieces and all the minifigs, but is still listed at about $70, in my Brickfolio. What do you think I could get for it?

The title says it all, pictures of this set have finally leaked out. Sorry about the image being so fuzzy, I wasn't able to make a link to the actual site. It's just on Brickipedia though if you want to see it on there. Any thoughts about this set? I personally think it looks the business from a collectors standpoint, but am not sure what an investor might think of it.

From what I got as replies yesterday when asked about the Dynamic Duo Funhouse Escape, and IIRC this set was a Target exclusive, this should be a deadlock, right?

  16. Hey Guys, Maybe you've seen this already but some kid won a Lego Star Wars room. Most of the stuff in his room consists of custom large scale builds like trees and lampshades, but there is a UCS R2-D2, Ewok Village, and a Millennium Falcon on his wall. The MF looks significantly larger than the current one, but smaller than the 10179. Might Lego have taken the piece count from 10179 and applied it to a detailed interior? The MF doesn't look nearly as epic as the 10179, but it does look big, and is possibly more in line with the Sandcrawler (i.e. not to mini fig scale but uses advanced building techniques/has playability) Anyways, I took 2 screenshots and …

  17. With SSD mostly dissappeared and DS maybe, finally going away soon, what big Star Wars exclusive would be best to put my long term money in? 75059 Sandcrawler- nice set, but mulitple renditions 10240 Red Five X-Wing- Also multiple renditions and probably more to come... 10225 R2-D2- been out a while but biggest set of one SW most beloved characters 10236 Ewok Village- Still newish but a beautiful set with tons of figs UCS Slave 1?

After some sorting & organization I realized that I've got way more of the 9489 SW Battle Packs than I thought I did. In general I was curious if anyone finds it beneficial to selling large lots of these types of sets together for army building or is it more profitable to sell individually? I'd certainly rather wrap one box vs nine in my case but if there is more to be made by nine different sales so be it.

As Star Wars Lego sets are among the more popular sets, Lego has recreated some of their older sets into newer models. For example, the Sandcrawler came out five years ago, maybe longer than that, became retired, and now a new design of the Sandcrawler has just been released in 2014. Would investing in the 2014 sandcrawler be considered a poor investment opposed to investing in a set which has no duplicate, such as the Death Star? Also after the the new 2014 sandcrawler, did the older model lose value as a collector can acquire the 2014 Sandcrawler for a cheaper price? I am aware that some collectors are interested in having all the sets, but maybe a fair amount of collec…

Hi all, So I was on you tube watching the Brick Queens review of the Lego Dark Side book by DK publishing. Towards the end of her quick review she showed the last few pages in the book, which depicts the duel between Darth Vader and Luke in Empire Strikes Back. She teased/mentioned that this could a screen shot of an upcoming new version of Cloud City Set for 2015? Not seen since 2003. Is she right? or was it just a MOC made for the book? here's the link

  21. Here is a little preview of the upcoming updated visual dictionary for Lego Star Wars! No word yet as to whom the exclusive minifigure will be at this time. Hi Everyone, I am a mom, a new member and this is my first forum post! I found a sealed box in a pretty good condition of the MindStorms 9748-1: Droid Developer Kit at my brother's house. http://www.brickpicker.com/bpms/set.cfm?set=9748-1 was all excited trying to find out how much it is worth now since it's Star War related and all..... And to my surprise it performed so poorly, 1.03% CAGR...... Does this mean this set has no potential at all? Should I keep it for few more years? Sell it? or just give it to my son to play with while the motor may still work..... Thanks!!

  24. So more than a couple of times Ed Mack, site owner and Lego extraordinaire, has mentioned that he thinks the movies with renew and revitalize Star Wars and cause old and current sets to skyrocket, etc. While this is an opinion held by a lot of people, I certainly think that there has been some skepticism as well because of all the re-releases, the possibility of the new movies being less than desirable, and the overproduction that seems to be staring Star Wars Lego in the face (over 40 sets every year). I honestly have been a skeptic. In the Lego beginnings (I wasn't a part of it), Star Wars sets were all great investments. Lately, that hasn't been the case, e…
