Star Wars Sets

Whether you love them or hate them, the Star Wars™ Sets are a huge success!

I have a promotional Yoda that was assembled by the Lego company and offered as a contest prize. It has a Lego trademark block inserted into the piece. Looking for a value. This piece is part of an estate and I want to sell it.

Hey there, you might see that I am very new to this site and so I wanted to ask my first question. After rebuilding the above mentioned set I just remembered that when I bought and build the (European) Lego Star Wars Wookiee Attack set back when I was a child, some parts seemed to have the wrong color. The set included three 1x1 cones and two 1x2 bricks with grill. The building instruction showed those pieces in pearl light gray but actually they were light bluish gray. And ever since then I was wondering if this is normal (just a printing error) or if I was somehow... well, scammed by Lego. I couldn't find…

There is no data on here for new/used selling price, and I couldn't really find anything on eBay... what's the deal with this set? A sealed bag, but open box version came into work and I really have no idea what I'm looking at value wise.

  6. I was looking through the completed auctions on eBay for the 10179 MF, and there was one that stood out to me. Here is the link. The set is graded 9.25 by the AFA. I am not sure what to make of this. I have never seen this happen before. I do not know anyone who could buy a set for that much. I know that they probably have very deep pockets.

  7. Not too much info or even an actual picture yet, but FBTB has posted an exclusive Clone Lieutenant available this weekend at LEGOLAND CA for Star Wars Weekend. In the past, stuff like this has been given to volunteers, randomly to kids, and with purchases at the park. A couple years ago you got the white Fett with a $35 purchase, so hopefully this will be similar.

I was just looking at the CAGR by theme and I noticed that the Star Wars CAGR for the theme had dropped significantly. The last time I checked, the CAGR was around 9%. Now the CAGR is 5.73%. Does this mean that the Star Wars theme will not be a good theme to invest in. I was checking some individual set CAGR and I noticed that a lot of sets dropped in value and in CAGR. I also heard that Ed Mack's collection lost $900 in Star Wars sets. I was wondering what everyone else thinks. Is this an indicator that Star Wars will not be good for investing in the future?

As a small time investor/seller, I've recently noticed the Mandalorians are really out selling the other battle packs from my inventory: Endor (9489) and Clone Trooper (7913). Wonder if this will continue? I personally like all 3 and each has set has it's own strength/pro. Most retailers don't have them in stock anymore...retired and sold out. Good thing I stocked up on the Mandalorians during sales. There has been articles/blogs/topics about how single army packs are better than 'split' variety for army building etc. Guess to each their own. I just think these small packs are good bang for the buck and a must for most small time/newbie inve…

  12. Which 2013 sets are worth getting duplicates? I was thinking about one to assemble and one to store away. I have 1 red 5 x wing decided to pass on the B-wing. My gut is telling me I should get the Ewok Village. Sorry for the rambling but I'm having a hard time deciding on my next purchase. thanks a block!

  13. With the release of the 10236 Ewok Village, there will be 6 SW UCS models available at LEGO Shop at Home. To my knowledge, there haven't that many available at the same time in a long time. Should we be expecting some of the models to take a retirement? I'm guessing we can take the 10188 Death Star out of the equation, so that leaves the Super Star Destroyer as the oldest model currently. Is it on its way out?

  16. I was writing an article about some of the new Star Wars sets last night and was mentioning this one. I can not for the life of me find a set that really compares to it. It is like a playset, but not a ship. It's open world - like several sets put together. The only thing I could come up with that remotely compared was the Death Star 10188. Any ideas?

  19. Recently I've thought about trying to build my own UCS MF, and pieces can be found pretty cheap on bricklink, but some colors are harder to find and more expensive than others. Being cheap, I had an idea to buy the cheapest colors of the pieces needed. I've never ordered off bricklink and don't know if shipping is expensive, but the pieces are super cheap. I don't know if this has been done before, but how much do you think a rainbow 10179 would go for and do you think it would look stupid or cool? I've always wanted to build a 10179 and this seems like a fun and cheap way (also I feel like it could go for some profits on ebay)

  21. The unveiling of the AT-AP at the SDCC made me ponder something. "Will LEGO release a whole new Episode 3 line next year?" This year's Episode 2 wave of sets was supposed to compliment the release of a 3D version of Episode 2. (The 3D Episode 3 movie got cancelled too.) A new 2014 Star Wars set was unveiled at the SDCC today. (It was not for sale or anything.) Name: AT-AP (All-Terrain Attack Pod) Number of minifigures: 5 EDIT: Quote from Brothers Brick. For whatever reason I've put off starting to collect the Star Wars theme until this point. I'm not looking for investing advice but simple if you started a SW collection from absolute zero, what sets would you start with? Picked up Jabbas Palace and the original Sail Barge along with a Slave so I'm kind of all over the place so far.
