For the lucky one, how much you paid for it? Do you build it or you keep it new? I think I will buy one soon, but DAMN the price is high. I told myself I'll never paid more than 1k$ for a set, but I have some extra money and I really want one! I'll probably buy a used one and build it and maybe resell it 20k$ in 20 years

Not really related to Lego, but Stuart Freeborn died Wednesday at the age of 98. He helped create Yoda, Chewbacca, the Ewoks, Jabba the Hutt, and the Wampa in the first three SW movies. He was instrumental in designing/building these iconic Star Wars characters. May the Force be with him. R.I.P. With Star Wars Episode 7 coming in 2015 (possibly being pushed back), this leads into a huge discussion whether this will be a big hit or not with LEGO. LEGO Star Wars seems to never go out of trend, but whats fueling it right now seems to be the Clone Wars and 3D movies (which just got canceled). My question to everyone is if Star Wars 7 ties such a different story then the Clone Wars, Prequels and Originals, will it make the value of those sets go up or down? Originals: It's a safe bet that any LEGO set from Episodes 4,5, or 6 are never going to out of trend Prequels: Episode 1 can have good sets (MTT was amazing) but for most part thats where it will slack, …

Hello Lego Collectors and investors. I have a question concerning a MF set which I recently was lucky enough to come across that a friend was selling. He said he had bought it directly from lego when it came out (it's a First Edition) and that he had opened the seals and looked at the contents and then closed it back up. All the contents appear to be there, but there are sooooo many bags. Does anyone know exactly what the contents should be and how many bags there should be? I see the instruction book, 2 loose gray "fences", 2 stickers (1 is the data plate sticker and the other is chrome), and 80 clear plastic bags of varying size. Any help would be greatly apprecia…

Battle packs... Hmmm? Sounds like a good idea right? Four minifigs and a cool vehicle for 10 bucks! But is lego rolling the dough a little thin, for us that is? It started out with the first two battle pack sets 7654 (droids battle pack) and 7655 (clone troopers battle pack) at a price of $9.99 a piece. Good price. But that's then, lets look at when the inflation started to happen. Four more battle packs came out and then in 2010 with sets 8083 (rebel trooper battle pack) and 8084 (snow trooper battle pack) they go up two bucks... No big deal. And when I say "No big deal" I mean you're not getting a big deal anymore. Well, then it got worse with sets 9488 (elite clone tr…

The other day when I entered into my Brickfolio my two 2013 STAR WARS battlepacks, out of curiosity, I clicked on the price guide for them. H-o-l-y crap.... What I saw surprised the heck out of me. People are paying around $25 for the "Clone Troopers vs Droidekas" battle pack, and an average of $19 for the "Republic Troopers vs Sith Troopers" one. ......HUH?! These are brand new sets! They could not get any newer than this! How the heck can anyone justify paying more than twice the original retail for these?! Even if their store is sold out, they can't just wait another week or so for them to come in?! Really?! Sometimes I just really do not get people....

First I saw this polybag at Wal-Mart once before December. Then I saw it at Target right before Christmas with the other LEGO right next to the "Mining Quad" polybag. And now this week and the last one there is a ton of these in every checkout aisle. I could not find it listed anywhere on their website though. I suppose it's an in-store exclusive? Anyway, just thought I'd let all you serious 'polybagers' know. TIE Fighter (8028) This last trip I only saw a few of the "Mining Quad" left. Maybe a fluke or yet another limited run of stock? Beats me....

I have an opportunity to grab about half a dozen of '8099 Midi-Scale Imperial Star Destroyer' for a flat 25$(CAD) a piece from a private seller. Before I jump on it I was wandering if any one has had any luck selling this set for profit? I intend to keep one for my personal collection and sell the rest at the second market.

This minifig was all the rage because it was supposedly a SDCC exclusive........turns out I guess it wasn't. I don't know if people who were selling them were mis representing it or what but it was going for over 100 bucks during and after SDCC 10 (or maybe it was 11) anyways now its a promo item, who knows what happened with this mess.

Kind of silly and useless information, but I always like to see LEGO sets in movies and TV shows. There's a scene in Parental Guidance where one of the kids is playing in his room and he has a table full of LEGO sets and bricks. Two easily identified sets were 7879 Hoth Echo Base and 8129 AT-AT along with various Clone Troopers. He also has a Star Wars minifigure gallery poster on his wall.

Just yesterday, I had found at the LEGO endcap a display with three different STAR WARS polybags. Star Destroyer (set 30056) First available as a Walmart exclusive for the US in March of 2012. Then given on May 23 as a promotional item with the UK "The Sun" Newspaper. Was also available in Japan from "Gacha" Vending Machines. MTT (Multi Troop Transport) (set 30059) First available in Japan from "Gacha" Vending Machines. Then in Canada from Toy R Us in November 2012. Mini TIE Fighter (set 8028) Originally a promotional item primarily in the UK as far back as 2008 from a variety of sources. Supposedly, in the US some Walmart's still carry this and recently a few Target sto…

Wondering if anyone ever had this happen. Picked up a MMV off ebay for $89 with free shipping. I then get an e-mail from the seller stating they accidentally shipped two of the same set and I was welcome to keep the second if I sent a payment for $75 once both were received. He also asked that I not refuse the deliveries. He stated that the boxes would be coming directly from LEGO and he has sold over 300 of this set. Sound too good to be true? Using a stolen credit card? I will check the packing slip when the boxes arrive. Should I call LEGO when I get them?

I have been contemplating selling my used copy of 10179 because I would like to use the money for soon to be EOL'ing sets. One has to think that the cap for this set HAS to be coming at some time. At its current prices ~$1400, I do stand to make some money. Is this crazy talk? I love the set, but really don't have anywhere to display it where it doesn't stand out like a sore thumb, and could use the money to buy several sets that would, in turn, appreciate.
