Here is the annual rumor, confirmed, non set specific thread we all hold dear to our hearts... with my initial thoughts, even if you don't care, you are still reading them, aren't you!

2026 sets rumored as of Sept 2025

75421 Vader's TIE Advanced $69.99 (it better be in scale to the recent interceptor, bomber and fit in a trench along the new $1000 death star (lol, I joke)

75423 Luke's X-wing Fighter $99.99 (wait did we just get a small version last year and a really nice version in well, 2018, and it was $64??)

75436 6+ Mando & Grogu speeder bike (movie set based or season 1,2,or 3) $9.99 so regardless of the version, its cheaper then the minifighter set for both figs.

75437 Cob Vanth & Cad Bane duel playset $29.99 (probably a lame playset but Cob will be the price point)

75438 Yoda bust $49.99 (not a fan of helmets and busts)

75439 Darth Vader bust $59.99 (still not a bane but it's Vader, so maybe?)

75440 Midi Scale AT-AT $59.99 (what will be the hidden egg? Luke? a bunch of snowtroopers inside it?)

75441 Midi scale Venator $79.99 (didnt we get this recently? oh no, that was the Acclamator, totally different similar looking ship)

75443 Buildable Grogu $19.99 (at that price its probably not going to look well)

75448 Clone Shock Trooper Mech $14.99 (probably worth it just for the minifigure)

75449 332nd Battle pack - Ahsoka's clones and mando super commandos $19.99 (so its four figure battle packs again)

75452 Buildable BB8 $89.99 (the price keeps going up and I keep skipping them)

30727 something something in a polybag for $4.99

For those that are lego club members they are running an insider sale before the black friday sales. some sets are double or quadruple insider points. The gunship with Padme and Palpatine is on sale for about 20% off.

I got this set and built it today. Overall, its a very detailed set, although it is fairly small compared to the 20th Anniversary Slave 1 from a few years back. However, the build is quite nice and it has 707 parts and overall that provides a lot of nice detail for the size of the model. Old versions of this ship are not as clean, IMO. Theres not many studs showing on the exterior of this set and the play features are simple, yet have a nice level of sophistication, especially the part where you push in the nose of the base and it will deploy the bombs. The stand that comes with it is also very simple but extremely useful.

So id say the pros are its a good, fun build and looks accurate to the source material. Good minis too.

Cons - id rank the 20th anniversary Slave 1 as the best Slave 1 ever made and ahead of this set. The size on this Slave 1 is good if you dont have a lot of shelf space, but if youre looking for minifig scale, the UCS version is probably the best version. This one feels more like a midi scale version. The Lama Su figure is also awesome. I had to add that one to our prequel mini display.

This used to be my go to place for reading what others thought of sets before I bought one. This site just does not get many reviews posted anymore. It looks like I stopped bothering last year.

Where do you go for insights now? Youtube? Discord? The kid of that guy at work?

I have a few youtube channels I subscribe too now for information. I joined a lego discord channel but rarely go there, its not well organized if you want leaks, this is a better site for me to see info in advance of a release.

	Designers critiques

Here are a few designer thoughts in case anyone here secretly works at lego.

	1. All ships and playsets must have storage for the provided figure's weapons. Add a bay, a box, some clips, don't have me toss the pilot's pistol into a ziplock..

	2. Stud launchers suck. you lose the stud when you accidentally bump it and only find it months later in the vacuum cleaner then wonder what it went too. the spring loaded launchers are no better but they are too big for the vacuum so they are lost forever.

	3. Midi scale wish list - The Ghost in scale with last year's Falcon, a pirate corsair (Mando season), a rebel cargo transport with lots of gribbling on the bottom (ESB for example); Skeleton Crew's big pirate frigate.

Here are a few general thoughts on recent sets though.

	Recent build thoughts

75402, ARC-170 ship. I don't mind the smaller size.. I wish the set designers would have added some storage on the ship for the three pistols.

75406 - Kylo's midi scale ship. boring to build, boring to look at... although it looks like something Batman should own so maybe I can put it over by the bat mobiles.

75374 - onyx cinder; I'm not quite done yet but it clearly is the same type of set as Ahsoka's shuttle, looks fine without figures in or on it, figures barely fit. Not anywhere in scale for figures. Figures barely can be placed inside the common area on the seats, good luck using the bed or stove top area. I like the hidden storage area for the cookies and what not. I think I will like the engine titling feature when it is completely done. Whomever did the instructions forgot the technique of highlighting in the artwork what new pieces were added. A bunch of grey blocks added to existing grey blocks just caused me to have to scrutinize the artwork looking for where the new grey block appears to be. The set has 12 bags, each little build only takes a few minutes per bag. I don't know if I care one way or the other but when you have OCD and sort all the parts from the bag before starting. I have less sorting to do. Printed parts should have been provided for areas like the cockpit windows. trying to align stickers on compounded slants is miserable and does not look well when done. I liked the min-series and hope lego invests in some other sets - we need some of those pirates, the frigate even a playset with some family members and droids, I suppose. We need Capt Silvo for sure, maybe an advent set?

The ship looks okay, it has lots of flat panels and gribble. The figures are fine. I only bought it for Saw's 25th figure because I am OCD. I had the original version from 2001 era and sold it years ago so this does fill a gap in my ship displays but the ship itself did very little on screen and is really a backdrop as compared to an x-wing or falcon or the Queen's shiney starship that has yet to be lego-ized.

Play factor, the ship meets my expectations with firing launchers, a bay for the tiny probe droids that allows them to deploy and space for Maul's scooter. Maul does not have a pilot set unless the scooter is not in the ship. the winglets fold in and out. The ship has two landing gear on the front that fold up.

My major complaint is Maul lacks a cape / robe. My other complaint is I spent $70 bucks for Saw because this ship and the rest of the figures will probably get boxed up in a few days for space.

I bought one of my holy grail sets this holiday season then proceeded to break the box's seals and build the ship. Yes, I did that for the Rebel's Medical Frigate midi scale set. With Lego's release of so many ship or midi scale sets, I went back and decided to surf eBay until I found a decent deal on a legit set that appeared complete to include box but did not expect to find a sealed set for less than $200 including shipping.

The box art is really great with an artist rendition of the lego build (complete with lego marked studs) on the front and a photo of the built version on the back.

The build manual includes 2020 special edition markings. The kit includes two numbered bags.

The build is awkward at times with me knocking pieces of gribble, antennas and other protrusions loose at times. She is sturdy on the stand though despite the heavy nose section. Such a weird design, separating the engine section with that thin center section.

The 40th anniversary plaque has a sticker, the only sticker in the set.

Overall, it looks great and is displayed near my Invisible hand. I think I may MOC up a miniature Falcon to attach under the body using any of the Advent set versions so the ship would appear as it did towards the end of ESB before Lando and Chewie departed.

You bought it for the figures? Basically, yes I did. This was another holiday 20% discount set purchased a few weeks ago. If you watch the YouTube reviews, its all about the stickers. There are a lot of them to keep aligned, to include four curved pieces and four sets with the planetary diagrams. The set has some figure turning play features and some sort of lever that I suppose could launch Ezra towards the Chimaera or just have a figure fall over. My imagination is failing me on it.

It's a nice display for a diorama, Lego could have wrapped the bought in black, added a panel with a pithy quote and charged us for a diorama. The black stickered slabs do look nice. The gold decor on the back's of the stickered slabs really accent it well.

Ahoska's torso is different than the one with her T-6 Shuttle and she has arm prints. Thrawn does not have the repaired section on his tunic so prominently seen in the series highlighting the challenges of being stranded in another galaxy. The hair is black unlike the version that was released with the Phantom II. Morgan has her transformed face and actual legs; her sword is pretty cool, built from three pieces. The zombie Stormtrooper is an Army builder. Let's hope we get a battle pack soon. Ezra, freaking adult Ezra! he does have those hollow eyes, lego is so found of now. I feel like every lego figure is blind these days.

Will I display it or box it and just put the figures onto a display with all the series figures? For now, I will squeeze it onto a shelf. On a plus when I do store it, the four stickered slabs will pop right off and the base will fit into the box.

The price point seemed high so I bought it during a holiday 20% discount sale for $63.99 USD.

Up front, I like the build. She seems sturdy and has the hidden Easter eggs for Leia giving R2 the plans which you only see during the build. The ship has a lot of gribble for this scale. I think if I was reducing my collections, my second version UCS ship would be on the market.

My wife bought me a variety of the "Light My Bricks" sets (a different topic) and that company has a light kit for this set I may purchase.

Light My Bricks products overview and review

My wife fully supports my SW lego addiction, proving it with Christmas presents in a shipping box of various light sets and accessories from the "Light My Brick" online store.

Light My Bricks has two different generations or versions where the later generation stuff seems to be marked as 2.0's. The difference appears to be the tiny wiring. One version has wire that is more like a thread and the other is more of a flat stip. Both perform well with hiding under bricks and both round corners well.

The company's website includes the instructions for each set so they save on printing and shipping. The instructions are high quality and similar to lego build instructions. The company goes so far as to identify a part to be removed in one drawing then show it removed in another. They have two versions of instructions, one version is for a full build that shows the lego's instructions and then inserts their changes as needed. The second version shows how to deconstruct a built set to retrofit with lighting. My only complaint is when purchasing a set, it does not have any instructions or short cuts to find the set of instructions you need.

They have kits to light up various sets that have blinking lights like R2D2, engines for ships, lightsabers.

The various light up accessories can be powered by USB connections or battery boxes. They sell various sized multiport connections so you can wire several lights into one bar that leads to a power source or another multi-port bar. Note, the 2x port version is basically a way extend a shorter wire by connecting an extension wire. They sell 15 and 30 cm lengths of extension wires so you can stretch the distance from your display to a power source.

I have the Jabba UCS Barge set's light kit and really like it. The set has flashing LEDs that replace cannon barrels for the deck gun and both rail-mounted guns. There are several accent lighting LEDs that mount to light up the lower deck as well as under the sails. The torches along the walls are lit as well as the stoves little flame. There is some lighting in the cockpit that changes colors prehaps as alarms or sensor read outs. The top decks can still be removed, Light My Bricks has sets of wired contacts that connect the removable sections. This kit made me wish I had more henchmen to man the model better.

The R2D2 set for the middle sized 2024 released R2 includes some replacement parts where stickers are replaced with lights. R2 is now constantly blinking with various lights. The only thing missing was a light for his removable periscope.

Lightsabers- I have several of them. Basically you replace the entire saber in the wielders hand and snake a tiny wire behind the figure to a multi-port switch option, a battery pack or a USB adapter. Some versions of light sabers have the 15 cm cord, others have the 30 cm so you can tailor the length to your display with having a bunch of wire to hide or control. Available colors cover all your needs from Ahoska's white to Mace's purple. They also have variants for Kylo and Maul. The sabers are nice accents for the figure displays. I installed a green saber on my Jedi Luke on the plank of the desert skiff (I kit bashed ship combining the best of both recent sets).

Techniques... My wife found power strips that include 6x USB ports to provide plenty of power. She also bought two outlet timers that are silent so I can have the displays go dark when I am not normally going to be in my room with the displays (overnight). I do have a battery pack option but have not tried it. She intended for me to take a lit up Vader to work for my desk where we cannot plug in unauthorized accessories or power strips. For wiring the displays in the IKEA all glass shelfing, I use 30cm extenders, 2-port connectors and ran the cord to the edge and followed the metal shelf supports, minimizing the visibility of the dark wires. For my cherry wood bookcase holding the Jabba's barge and some other sets, I loosened the backing so I could slip the wires between the frame and the wooden back; intent is to use a multiport strip to combine all the shelves into one wire to a USB port.

I have the Christmas tree set too, but the tree itself has not arrived yet.

If you are a lego display person looking to brighten up your displays, Light My Brick is an excellent option.

What can I say, it did not come with the UCS barge and the price is higher than expected. I have had the prior version on display for years in my office. The new build is improved in appearances but this version does not have as much space to place figures, lacks studs on the deck like the USC kit and Luke's plank is lacking studs on the end. I moved a L-shaped 1x2 from the bottom to the edge of the plank so Luke could stand at the edge.

This version includes Lando in disguise, the last version provided a weequay or some sort of henchman to be the pilot/driver.

The Sarlacc is much bigger than prior versions. I suppose that's good but I thought the last version was fine. The play factor of being able to move the tentacles back and forth seems unnecessary and I don't think a kid is going to go crazy about that feature.

Honestly, I would probably just keep the prior version on display and buy a Lando on the secondary market if I was doing it again.

There is plenty out on the web for pricing, content, value, etc... so I am on to focus on build and display.

There are lots of bags, about 33 so part management is reasonable. The manual is also split between two books.

The instructions were clear and developers made good use of the space if one was going to play with it while balancing appearances. Some love to see lots of studs, others like clean flat surfaces, this build places some studs on decks and flooring while the sides are largely covered in studs despite flat panels attached.

As for play factors, developers built out areas in spaces we did not really see in ROTJ, examples include the pilot area, the jail cell, and the kitchen. Ladders are plenty, hatches open and close. Both sides open up for access and improved lighting and the deck is removable.

The barge is heavy but feels sturdy when lifted to move around (lift between the built-in stands). It's long and wide too. It feels the entire space on my display bookshelf so the desert skiff and sarlacc pit won't fit on the same level. I guess that's a good thing.

The sails are somewhat adjustable so they can be left in place and still see what is happening on the deck.

	Critics:

#1 Leia's legs, the shorts. Not sure if it was deliberate to make a lego figure less sexual (has that been a problem) but I went to ebay am bought an old versions legs.

#2 The deck cannon does not elevate so you cannot point it at the deck.

#3 need more henchmen. Luke and Leia fought several. We got about four.

#4 Max Rebo's space is very crowded, it was hard to fit him into his organ and then he is basically not visible due to the pillars. But they pillars look nice.

#5 Salacious Crumb has no leg to hold him to the throne so he falls over easily.

Recommendations: I am going to figure out how many clear pieces are needed to raise the deck up enough that one can see inside like an expanded view.

I am a sucker for these small play sets that display well and as many others I wanted to expand the length of the hallway by adding on from a second set. However, I think simply reversing set two creates a mismatched look.

The Tantive IV boarding scenes from ANH and Rogue One's similar scene are iconic to the SW's story. Audiences were introduced to Vader, the Empire, the Rebellion technology, star ships, and more all within minutes. You were hooked. Now we can finally have a small piece of this for the book case, the play area, the work place's cubical, wherever. Finally, Lego has delivered.

Price-wise, the set is phenomenal. Six figures plus the ARC Trooper CT-5555 Fives at $55. Look at the new SSD, $160! same figure count. Sure it's more than figures, its piece counts, play features, etc... Tantive IV's hallway has an opening door with fire, 4x play features to knock over troopers from both side. The hallway panels are full of gribble and only a few stickers.

My build: I built the first set per the instructions.

My desire was to mirror it with the side entrance being the center so I had to mentally figure out how to move Vader's door to the other end, add in the short wall panel, and the longer wall panel so it mated to the side of the side door entrance. I also wanted to create a platform in that side door's opening for a trooper or two or as someone on the internet had done Leia and R2. I wanted to clean up the exposed grey studded top (not complete yet but I have a plan requiring external purchases). I wanted to replicate some of the play features since the second set should provide all the parts necessary and I wanted the non-Vader's side of the hallway door to open so I could have trooper's reinforcing, whatever, I had the pieces.

This was my first attempt at straying from instructions in 40 years or so and it took a lot of trial and error. I tried building the plans in reverse. i tried to study the underside of the completed set. Limited to only set #2's pieces and a few extras from set #1 challenged me in a welcome way. Eventually, I counted studs, figured out where compromises could be made and wound up with this.
