For anyone that wants a place to express their frustration...here ya go. Whoever got to TRU a minute before me when it opened and bought 6 of the 7 VC's and left me with the dented one. Arg!!!

If there is one thing I have learned, it's that music truly is the most universal language in the world. Besides myself looking for yet another excuse to post anything at all or just a good one to post music videos, I would like everyone here to feel free to post links to some of your favorite tunes and/or talk about what you like to listen to. Consider this thread your very own little "House of Blues" as it were. Anyway as for an opening post, I had some difficulty trying to think of a good opener, a nice ice breaker everyone may enjoy, and well I came up with this. Enjoy. Disclaimer: Everyone has their own likes & dislikes which includes their listening preferen…

Since we have a pretty popular "Complaint Thread", I thought it might be a good idea to start an "I Love It! Thread". I'd like to begin with: I love it when I make a big $500 or more purchase because of a sale or great deal and shortly afterward make enough back in sales to cover the costs and then some. It helps with the buyer's guilt.

Akin to the "Musical Picks" topic, I want to hear what your all time favourite movies/television shows are. It can be anything from action to drama to sports to romance (who watches that anyway though?). Don't be shy and don't be mean to other members, even if they really did enjoy Superbaby-Geniuses or whatever that piece of crap was called I'll start off with a couple of my favs; I find most of the ones I put down are great films all together, but have shining endings. Blood Diamond (Thriller/Drama): Leo DiCaprio picks up a sick south african accent in this eye-opening thriller/drama. Great music but if you're a Leo fan, you can probably already guess how it en…

Hi guys, so was doing some reading on wired today... saw this http://www.wired.com/opinion/2013/05/lets-cut-through-the-bitcoin-hype/ This is the wikipedia page that tells you about Bitcoin (if you were as clueless as I was about it two years ago) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bitcoin What do you guys think about a new currency like this? Would it help or hurt online sales, both Legal and otherwise. Do you think it would help lego investors as being an easier way to transfer funds..? Just thought it could be fun to talk about..

Note: Invest at your own risk. Do you own homework before buying / selling. Don’t assume advice posted here is financially sound. Wanted to create an investment thread about stocks and how market conditions can impact those investments. Thought about creating one in 2020 but with COVID & other items going on, I didn’t. Instead, I posted in a similar thread on another non-investing web site. Posts can include topics relating to individual securities : stocks, bonds, options, indices, & ETFs. Sharing informative links encourage. Please DON’T get political or posts will be removed.

Hi all - I've noticed a lot of talk about kids, their likes and dislikes, complaints, and all sorts of other things, seeping into a bunch of other topics. So, why don't we all just talk about them here? I'll start moving some posts here. We've been talking everything from Minecraft, to potty training, to Thomas the Tank trains.

Because we are a global community, I would like to create a thread for talking about the COVID-19 how this has impacted you. I work for a smaller, Chinese-owned tool company. Our workforce after CNY and the extended break was only running at about 40%, of which this is actually on the higher side compared to what I've heard about other, much larger tech companies. While we haven't felt much of the impact here in the US, I am sure we will soon. The way that some companies flow in goods from overseas will really have an impact on store shelves; Stores like Walmart that have large DC's and reroute the flow and quantity of goods so that the shelves don't look as bare. T…

If you're a Pinhead like me then you know how much of a comeback the pinball industry has been doing in the last few years. Between Stern, who has been around since the beginning still coming up with new tables, to newcomers Jersey Jack Pinball here in the states and Heighway Pinball based in the UK. Anyway, the point I'm getting to is Jersey Jack Pinball is designing their next (second) pinball machine on (wait for it....) The Hobbit! I figured since Stern did The Lord of the Rings pinball then they would have gotten the rights to do this too but I guess Jersey Jack managed to snag those especially after wowing everyone with their much long awaited The Wizard of Oz …

What's everybody's experience building brick sets from non-LEGO brands like Cobi, MEGA, Xingbao, Wange, QMan, Sembo and so forth? Do you think there's good/any investment potential in these alternative brands' sets? MEGA and Cobi have (already proven) potential for sure, but what those Chinese manufacturers? Another point I'd like to address and hear your thoughts about here: In Germany there's this company called Blue Brixx, whose progression and altercations with TLG I've been following very closely over the last months, mainly due to its "David vs Goliath" appeal. They are pretty serious not only about distributing alternative brands (now even being THE off…

Not sure how to feel about this... Let's discuss how this is a FAIL or a WIN? Does it affect the LEGO secondary markets? Would people rather work a job than part LEGO sets out or flip small sets considering the fact that parting out LEGO sets usually equates to a minimum wage job?

There has been some interest in creating a fantasy football league for us brickpickers to have a little fun with. I've created a league on yahoo. Here are the details... 12 team head to head PPR. Snake draft. Points for yardage and td's. Starting lineups will consist of 1qb, 2 rb, 2 wr, 1 te, 1 flex(rb, wr, or te), 1 k, 1 d/st, and 6 bench players. Top six teams will make the playoffs. Prize money awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. $30 franchise fee. All money collected will be paid back to the league 100%. 1st place will get $220, 2nd place $90, and 3rd place $30. Total of $340. League financials will be posted and tracked on the league site so ever…

Ok guys, Super Bowl is over and pitchers and catchers I believe are less than 2 weeks away. Time to start thinking about fantasy baseball again. Since I don't believe HXCkid is around any more I was going to take the reigns on the league. I should have access to emails to you guys as ass't. last year. Anybody that wasn't a part of the league in years past but wants in get in this thread and mark your spot. I wanted to throw this out there as well. I am more of a fan of ESPN Fantasy than Yahoo. It's easier to guide your way through and I feel that pickups/drops/trades are much easier as well. I've been using that platform for years in other leagues, and feel it's f…

In the interest of this post, and me being a huge fan of the TV show LOST, I thought I'd start a topic. I loved the show. I loved the mysteries. I loved the answered (and unanswered) questions. I loved the endings. For me, LOST was one of the best televisions shows ever, and the ending was perfect. I also get that many people either didn't like it, didn't like the mysteries, or didn't like how the show ended. So, let's chat. I doubt I'll change any minds, but I'm always willing to talk about the show.

It's that time again, the hallowed turfs of some of the largest and most historic stadiums play center stage this coming weekend. Who's going to win this years Championship? Is the new play off system the answer? Will Bama come back and crush all before them? Welcome to the unofficial Lego NCAA football discussion. Hook Em Horns!

Well this is the year. Both my boys have birthdays this month and we are going to start watching the Star Wars saga. I've been waiting to watch it with them (ever so patiently) to make sure they are old enough to handle, process and fully enjoy the movies. Yes I'm one of those dads that censors what my kids watch. Now on to the ultimate question. Should we watch the movies in the order that most of us on here watched them? Obviously we didn't have the luxury of watching the movies in the order of the story, but now we do. My overwhelming hunch is to watch them in the order that I did as a kid, but feel free to chime in. Have any of you re-watched the entire SW saga starti…

update by jaisonline and bold-arrow: please keep the thread clean, otherwise it will be locked & warnings issued. OMG, I'm blushing watching the LEGO man having that creepy smile.
