What would be your vote for the next theme for Lego to do? I think my vote would be for theme parks. I think it would be cool to see roller coasters etc.

I'm interested in hearing about the rarest sets/minifigures/pieces that everyone has been fortunate to own. So what was the single rarest LEGO product you have/had? Is it part of your personal collection, or are you planning on selling it? Up until today, the rarest set I currently own was 3300003, LEGO Store Set. However, since I have started to collect the Superman theme in its entirety, I splurged and bought myself the 2012 SDCC Bizarro Minifigure. Now I am lucky enough to own every Superman set/minifigure that has been produced (until the SDCC 2013 minifig comes out). So show off your most prized possession so the rest of us can drool over it!!!!

Hey All, I am new to investing, actually just working on getting started. I do currently buy bulk lots off ebay/craigslist and then part them out. This has been making me a good profit from selling on ebay and bricklink, but I would like to try my hand at investing. I KNOW that every new person asks these types of questions and a lot of people are going to just say "look at the forums", but sometimes it just difficult to find the answer your looking for unless you have some really good google-fu. Questions: Is there anyway to know the exact release date of new exclusives? I tried to google this but I just get partial information. Sometimes when…

I am trying to figure out the best time to begin selling some of my inventory. I have investments in several series that are not projected to be long-term winners: Legends of Chima, Galaxy Squad, Lone Ranger, Monster Fighters, & Ninjago; but I also have investments in some projected winners: Star Wars, City, LOTR/Hobbit, Architecture, Marvel Super Heroes, Friends, and Duplo. For the most part I only buy sets when I can get a 50+% discount (although I have paid closer to retail on some sets I am willing to gambe on: SSD, B-Wing, UCS X-Wing, and considering some GE and or SopwithCamel). For the most part my collection is worth more than I have invested in it righ…

From The Brick Fan: As we mentioned in our post of the July 2014 Store Calendar, there will be an exclusive LEGO set being revealed at the 2014 San Diego Comic Con. Brickset has updated their database with a listing for an Ultimate Collector Series (UCS) set with set number 76023. It is listed under the DC Comics/Universe Super Heroes theme. As we all know, SDCC is the mecca of comic and movie news so putting two and two together, I can say with a 99.9% certainty that it will most likely be the Tumbler that we did an article about back in February. If this is true, the Tumbler will be the second Batman-themed set with UCS label with The Batmobile (7784) being the …

So I got to go to Brickworld in Schaumburg IL today! Despite my medical issues I packed an oxygen-tank and a wheelchair and my Dad volunteered to push my sorry butt around the displays (which were amazing). But then I heard Adam Reed Tucker was around somewhere and something clicked in my brain; I had my "Robie House" instruction booklet in my car! Autograph time! So I got it and scoured the place for Mr. Tucker only to find out he was out of the convention hall. After mentioning it to one of the Brickworld "employees" who turned out to be one of the co-owners of the place (his name escapes me, I'll find it, I have to send him a thank you card), he told me he'd …

I'm new in this 'buisness', but I've reag a lot of blogs an forum-threads in the last cuople days. I'm planing to invest about 2000 Euros or more this year. But I'm not realy sure on what Sets I shuold focus. I want to buy: 2x SSD; 2-3x HH; 2-3 GE; 2x T1 Volkswagen and 2-3x TB I don't like the R2-D2 sculpure should I invest in it? My plan is to buy the sets shortly before they retire or for d good discount and then I'll hold them for minimum three years. On which Set/s should I focus and buy more copys (5 or so). Excuse me for my bad English.

Hello I have decided to include lego to my investment portfolio after looking at various alternative investments. I am looking to achieve a 33% markup which nets 25% after taxes etc. Is the best method to achieve this reselling on amazon ? Is this realistic ? What is my expected timeframe to realise this? I do not have capital to make a large initial purchase but have

Hi Everyone, First time poster and a very new investor here. For a while now, I've been considering some sort of side business, or investment and not long ago, I made the decision to invest into Lego. I made this decision for a few reasons, but the main one was that collecting is my passion and I wanted this side business to have something to do with my lifestyle so that I could never get bored of it, and would always be excited invest my time and money into it. I'm a huge fan of collecting and I love all things geeky and Sci-Fi, so Lego was the perfect idea for me. Anyway, I made this thread for two reasons, firstly to introduce myself, which I've now done, …

I did a forum search on this topic and found around 6 threads. All were read and it seems like Gollum uses shipto.com. Anyway... I have a buyer from bricklink purchase 6 sets from me (nice $ amount) and used shipto.com's "11407 SW Amu St., Tualatin, OR 97062" address with his unique "H" ID. Any of my fellow US sellers ever encounter problems with shipping (what seems to be an international order) to this forwarding company as long as the paypal address is verified / confirmed? I'm about to invoice this buyer now using paypal.

There has been a lot of questions lately,"I'm looking at X set for X dollars, should I buy it?" Let me preface this by saying, I'm dumb and use to be dumber (I've been a member and buying & selling since Jan 13) I can see both sides. Guys want advise and others think you should put in more research. Most members are helpful and patient to a point. Jim Cramer says, you can make money investing in company stocks if your willing to devote the time and research. If not buy a mutual fund. There is no such thing as a Professional Lego investment advisor ( some guys may be close). Read this site, watch EBay, visit all the stores, and you can answer yours and other peoples qu…

So, this is partially inspired by DNIIM from another thread, basically targeting out biggest screwups and regrets in buying, not buying and selling. Buying Oh those early years. I was collecting the Toy Story Lego sets for my son, when it came down to needing the Garbage Truck set to complete it. I had already forked out significant dollars for the collection, though had been purchased the sets at some discount (only later for them to be heavily discounted). Well I saw the Garbage Truck set on a site called Fishpond for $99 (free shipping) and the set had proven to be elusive due to it's exclusive release. In the end I ordered it, then the wait began.... and conti…

Good morning! As some may know, I am in the process of thinking about moving and have began boxing up my sets individually (know as the emazers method, thanks Ed). The thought is that although they will take up more space for storage, if I box them up properly now they will be able to handle the stress of moving. In addition, when it is time to sell I only have to post the listing one ebay (etc) and if/when the item sells I grab it off the shelf slap a postage label on it and drop it off. All of my sets have been photographed, packaged carefully in new Staples boxes using kraft paper as packing material, weighed and labeled with set number-quantity and …

I loved Lego as a kid (still wish I had my old Black Seas Barracuda and Imperial Flasgship, not to mention my Forestmen and Blacktron II sets) and only recently came out of the dark ages thanks to my 7-year-old nephew who is Lego obsessed. I've been lurking around this site for a while, but this is my first post. Anyway.... I was recently able to score 4 x 7471 Mars Exploration Rover, 3 x 4701 Sorting Hat and 1 x 8009 R2-D2 from a local online listing, all still factory sealed. The Brickpicker market value for these sets is around $800 USD, so I felt pretty good about getting them all for $300 CAD. I'm assuming that there isn't generally much hope for further gr…

Hi and sorry in advance if there is a topic about this already. I recently bought a used set that was supposed to be 100% complete. After auditing the pieces, it was missing nearly 10% plus some of the pieces appeared to not be part of the original set as advertised. Counting pieces can take quite a bit of time, exceeding 10 hours for large sets. As a result of this experience, I am concerned that I will go through this exercise with all my used set purchases. So if I'm going to wind up spending over 10 hours counting pieces whenever I buy large used sets and some of those pieces are not original, I was wondering how much time it takes and money is saved by buyin…

I'm piecing together my 6286 set (Skull's Eye Schooner) that I bought nearly complete. I've taken it apart, cleaned it, inventoried it, and have purchased the seven small pieces needed to complete it. Now, when I list this on Ebay, do I: 1. Rebuild the set, take pictures and list it, then a: take it back apart to ship b: ship as a built set 2. Don't rebuild the set, and use stock pictures, and ship in pieces I don't have instructions. Is it worth the cost of purchasing instructions, simply in order to sell "with instructions"? It's a pretty cool set and I may just end up keeping it, making all of these questions a waste of time.
