Sorry if there is already a topic for this, but I coouldn't find one. I have never had a dark age, but I should probably have a Lego will to part out my collection among the Lego faithful in the event of one. ;)

I know Play Doh has a fan base too...even adult collectors I think. Anyways, my wife bought another play doh set (breakfast theme) for my 3.5yr old son and he enjoyed it a lot. Maybe it's just me but I don't like it at all haha. I told her to never buy play doh again since it's messy, pieces dries up too quickly and the clean up is a pain. At least with Lego you just pick up the bricks and it's done...play doh has just too many little bits you have to sweep/vaccum/clean up after and the colours eventually combine together. I realize as long as the kids are having fun and I guess play doe has some benefits but still Any other members out there whether you're…

So my move into toys made it inevitable I was going to come across other stuff like this. It has happened. I am now hooked on board games. There is a board game flipping, investing market - Much smaller and mostly about promos, etc. But I was curious if anyone else has looked out there and found the insane amount of awesome board games coming out almost daily. There are some really awesome simple ones I have and have played a lot: Munchkin - card game. Close to 1 million expansions. Ticket to Ride - great and simple family game thats not cheesy. King of Tokyo - Giant monsters battling each other Smash-up - Similar to that, but a card game D…

We are within 1 month of San Diego Comic Con 2019. Time to start a thread to talk about anything/everything regarding the show. I will be in attendance once again, and, wife willing, attending all 4 days plus preview night this year (3 of which I'll have my kids in tow).

Ok, May and the Grand Opening near my place has pretty much made me go way over budget with my Lego "investment" purchases so I'm going for a Lego "investment" purchase lockdown for 60 days starting now. Who's with me? No "investment" lego purchase until Aug 3, 2013 12:05AM Eastern Time for me. I would've said ALL Lego purchases but I want that hog dog stand next month from Lego S&****. Oh man this is going to be hard.

Ok. I am well aware that character building own the rights to make doctor who toys. But, if your like me and own their sets, well, what can I say.... ..."There really naff"!. The bricks don't hold together very well(e.*** Tardis play set, move a figure, stuff falls apart). Can anyone tell me why character building got the Dr Who license? Also as this show is at it's 50th Anniversary(i've been a fan since 1973), with massive viewing figures, why hasn't Lego gone for this? Many fan have made great Doctor mini figures from current city(etc) parts. Tardis etc. So my point is, would it have been so had for Lego to take on this franchise, or could th…

I'm not sure about anyone else, but the thought of a Despicable Me theme crossed my mind. I really love the movies and watched the first one the other day. I think it would certainly be different to say the least. But LEGO Minions! What could be any better?? Thoughts??

What is everyone's favorite team? Who do you like and dislike? I'm a die hard Patriots fan. So I'm not big on the Jets. We had a rough offseason though...

I have been watching the site and contributed only a couple of times, so, as someone relatively new, I get kind of lost when reading posts from people and see things such as "YMMV" or "AS." (I know 'AS' is Architecture Studio but no clue still about the other) I can figure it out if I read enough posts, but I thought this forum could be used for people to ask questions about abbreviations and for more active members to share any they may be willing to. I know there isn't a universal system for these abbreviations but maybe some order could be made.

No idea what forum to post this in (or even if im allowed to given its on a topic of a different brick review media) and I cant seem to find an answer to my question here already. Whats the general opinion on the Brick Show (the youtube guys)? Personally I really like watching there reviews. When looking at sets I want one of the first places I check out is there review. Wondered if they're universally "loved" as much as I think they should be? Or do people not really pay much attention to them so its just each unto their own? Also given they're massive 1989 batman fans as well that a definite plus in my book and they actually come across really well as people to…

I have been trying to find warehouse space near me for a couple years now. Most locations are a 30 minute drive on a good day. Rent runs 1500$ for 1200-2000 sq ft. I live in a medium size metropolitan city which doesn't have very much commercial space. Without going too much into the details I haven't been impressed with the warehouse options available to me. I am now considering purchasing a home near me in a lower cost area of town and using it as a Lego warehouse/shipment location. With current interest rates I could snag a 1300-1600$ mortgage and have a 2000sq ft place to run my business. I could always rent it out if I found a better option. My financial situati…

I usually have rainy days off from work, so my wife Jane and son Max decided to take a ride to the Freehold Raceway Mall to see the new LEGO store. I had a 10% off coupon to burn so I decided to buy the new 10240 X-Wing so I could compare it to the old 7191. I have to say, just from looking at the displays in the front window, I was not that impressed with the new X-Wing. What I was impressed with was the new 10237 Tower of Orthanc. What a wonderful LEGO model. Both sets are $200, yet the Tower of Orthanc was worth every penny, while the X-Wing looked like the old 7191. Now I'm sure the new X-Wing will still be a viable investment since many new fans do not ha…

http://www.psfk.com/2013/05/lego-toy-rental.html http://www.pleygo.com/ Just curious if anyone used this? The set seems to be getting some traction as even one of my wife's co-workers (an AFOL) uses it for his 4 yr old son) and I've been reading about it lately.

Just wondering if anyone has heard of any special deals or event details for the opening of the new Lego Store at The Westchester in White Plains, NY that's happening at the end of this month? It's the 100th Lego Store, so it seems like there should be something unique about it... http://stores.lego.com/en-us/stores/us/westchester/

Can someone please explain this? I've read abot it in a lot of Lego books being the nerd that I am, but still don't understand it. I think it's supposed to be about learning to express your emotions and feelings through Lego, and learn to work as a team or something. All of the 'sets' just look like Bucket of Bricks on steroids. In the books I've read, it shows adults sitting around discussing what their creations mean and how their feelings or personality affected it. You may disagree, but it looks pretty dumb to me.

(Apologies if this is in the wrong place or inappropriate. Feel free to delete if it is.) Since this site seems to be about making money, I thought I'd raise the subject of another income-generator I have looked into, which requires zero storage space, but can use similar bargain-finding skills: the stock market! Or, more specifically, financial spread betting which doesn't involve buying shares but is effectively the same, except no capital gains tax to pay and you can leverage your money to "buy" more stock than you otherwise could have, and shorting is easier too (although not really recommended because of the huge risk involved). Anyway, I'm not sure if …

Sorry this is so long but I just can't take the stupidity and complete lack of common sense anymore! I need to vent! So back a week or two ago when Target was giving the $10 gift cards I ordered online 2 of the big Coast Guard sets for around $55 each, plus the $10 gift card. Pretty sweet deal, I thought. When I got my delivery one of the sets had a big dent near the top. Not too terrible, but bad enough that I threw it in the back of my car with the intention of exchanging it for a non-damaged set the next time I was in Target. So that next time was today. I go to customer service with my damaged box and receipt and explain the situation. No problem, I'm told. I just h…

The reason I ask this question is because I'm wondering if its too late to jump on the Lego investing bandwagon??? It is so tempting to do so with the popularity of Legos right now, and seeing some of the great returns on some sets after EOL. However, when will the investor supply out number the consumer demand? Its seems to me that a great number of the posts on Brickpicker are members talking about how they have 40 of this set, and 60 of that set and so on, and how cheap they got each set. With only a limited number of places to unload all these sets, coupled with the increasing number of investors buying and stock piling huge quantities. Not to mention Lego is m…

I'm thinking about re-entering the stock market. I have been considering this for a while and I'm leaning towards energy companies and mostly DJIA stocks. Anyone else invest in the stock market? What do you include in your portfolio? What are high risk stocks you consider?
