Just like the title asks, what LEGO set did you buy today? I bought the 4184 POTC Black Pearl.

Since we have the buying thread, I thought we could have a selling thread too. Let guys, and girls, let others know sets they have moved, maybe returns that they realized and the timeframe it took to get there. If this is lame, well, I guess it will fall to the depths of the forum, here goes. Sold a sealed 7199 IJ Temple of Doom for $200, purchased for $115 6 months ago I have others, but this is just to give you an idea.

I thought it might be fun to have a place to share pictures of the terrible ways we receive our sets (sarcastic thread title), whether it's pancaked sets, oversized boxes, etc. I'll start with my SSDs that arrived a couple days ago: Enormous box: Three sets inside, with no packaging material. Third set is underneath the top two, and was crushed with all 4 seals popped: This box came to me today. What could be inside? A couple Death Stars? 60 Minecraft sets? Nope, just one HH and about a kilometer of air pouches: At least they actually padded this one, and I'll have enough pouches to last a while l…

Materials guide for LEGO selling & shipping Many members have asked for a centralized place where they can go for shipping box information. I'm going to pin this post and update it as new information is provided. I just want to take a few minutes and thank those who wrote the following articles. They are still very good reference materials for the LEGO storage and shipping process. I may develop this into a blog article eventually. Fcbarcelona101's : Selling LEGO : Basic Materials Guide Mos Eisley 's : LEGO Storage Wars Incompetech's Catalog of Amazon.com Box Sizes - (thanks No More Monkeys) Amazon Boxes Sorted list by length - courtesy of psteb…

With all of the threads for what you bought, built, or sold, I think it might be interesting to hear what some people passed up on while out shopping? Might help get an idea of what one doesn't like. Note: Don't get crazy with this, obviously one could list every set at there local store, but that would defeat the purpose of this. I'm hoping this might help with impulse buying, which I'm sure many of us have done from time to time...

I have looked at a couple of sites but haven't found the info I am looking for. My question is specifically for set 4483, trying to figure out how many sealed bags of pieces there should be. Is there a simple site to find that info?

Mod update : This thread is for all non-technical questions about shipping on eBay and other marketplaces. ----------------------- I am relatively new to utilizing the eBay shipping tool. I like the convenience of it for sure. To those who have used or still use this tool, who do you normally ship with (USPS or FedEx)? I seem to find that FedEx is the cheaper of the two, but I see people referencing USPS as a cheaper option regularly. When I compare the (inserting package dimensions and weight) I might see $15 for FedEx and $36 for USPS Priority Mail. Am I missing something?

I don't know if here is a thread for this already, but I was looking for an answer for a certain set (70809) Lord Business Evil Lair how many of them are in a LEGO shipping box. I think this would be helpful to have a thread where people can post for each set, as the amount of items that I have received damaged is huge, usually if you buy a single set in the UK (Not Lego S&****) they send it in bubble wrap (if you're lucky) in a plastic bag, but i have found if you buy the quantity of a shipping box they usually just ship it in that box and it protects the items better. update from jaisonline : i merged a few topics into one. ---------- ---------- Two weeks ago I shipped a 1400 piece technic set via ups ground for 15 bucks. Today I tried to ship a 1400 piece technic set via ups ground, and they wanted 22 bucks!!! What happened?? Btw, the first set went to new york, the second is going to south carolina. So i dont think distance was a factor, and the boxes were the same size and weight... Seriously, what is going on?

Corona boredom is setting in and I thought I’d post some current sold eBay prices. Here is a range of sold prices on numerous sets. I will continue to add to this list over time. I'm starting with big sets, as I find them the most fun! (US ONLY) Recent Sold Prices eBay*** ***All prices are trending towards the higher amounts. I tried to leave off outliers large and small. LARGE SETS: Ninjago City 70620 – $300 - $500 – 19 available. Ninjago City Docks 70657 – $309 – $339 – 10 available. Jokers Manor 70922 – $450 - $500 - - 9 available. Silent Mary 71042 – $229 - $…

The reason I ask this is because my sales have dropped off to almost nothing for the last week. I don't understand it. I am a Top Rated Plus Seller, and have around 40+ active listings at all times. I used to do around $50-$70 a day on an average day, and over $100 on good days. Lately I have had two days where I didn't sell a single thing. This hasn't happened to me in several months! Has anyone else been experiencing similar trends? I am not necessarily worried yet, but this is very odd. I can't figure out what is causing this. Any thoughts???

So I have sold my fourth item internationally this month and had to cancel the transaction b/c I do not ship internationally. It's time I start. However, I do not want to spend 20 mins filling out customs forms for each item. I know ebay offers a Global shipping program but I would like to hear from those who have used it. PLEASE!! I know the global shipping program (GSP) is only offered to some countries, do the items only display in those countries? How easy is it really? I noticed someone on another thread said "If you prepack your items there is no reason not to offer international shipping" How do you offer two different prices for shipping? One for int a…

I have been researching opening up a vintage/current toy store, and I was wondering if anyone who how to go about getting newer sets in bulk? Can you go through Lego or is there a wholesaler you can go through? Still waiting on a response from Lego themselves, just wondering if anyone had any thought or input on this.

I was expecting to be super busy selling things this season. I ordered all of my shipping supplies in advance, organized my inventory, posted it and have been waiting. The sales have been much slower than anticipated. I think it's likely due to what I'm listing but perhaps its how I'm listing, or simply that things will pick up this week. I've got the following items listed but have barely moved any: Mixels Series 1 Monster Fighters (Excluding the HH) Lone Ranger LOTR HD, UH, OF Creator Houses (retired sets)

Hi, I've really enjoyed reading this forum over the last month and appreciated the insight. I've certainly got carried away at times in the early days of investing having read some of the advice in the forums. However, I occassionally notice a post that says something doesn't really apply to Europe, e.g the popularity of a certain line, or where is good for selling, or the time it takes for items to increase in value. So as a lot of the advice is written with north america in mind, I thought it would be really useful to hear from those based in the UK and Europe. - What are the main differences for our market to the US - What sort of discout and ROI do you usually aim for…

I just need to vent... Saw a cute little polybag Christmas tree set for $3.49 at Target the other day. There were at least 20 of them in stock. I went back the next day to buy one for my holiday display. All of them were gone! Couldn't they have left a few for the end user? Bah humbug!

Hey guys, I've seen this topic come up here and there. I'm thinking about investing in a Taj Mahal just for the CAGR (ROI beats my TFSA). However, it seems like an easy target for re-sealing. How would one be able to verify they're actually receiving a legit brand new sealed set? Been thinking, 1) Are the stickers always straight (parallel to the edge of the box)? Or in some cases the box is so heavy they go at an angle? Or get stretched? 2) Would applying a bit of pressure to it to check it's secure be a good test? 3) Moving it around, or pushing on it to check the sound? Thought about bringing a Tower Bridge to compare? 4) Some sort of light check? X-ray would be n…

(Not sure if this is the right place for this. Apologies if it's not.) The Investor Phase: If you have savings, a decent job and a credit card that you don't need to pay off for a year, it's VERY VERY EASY to do this part. You just check various places every day for deals and buy buy buy!!! The lack of space in my house caused by stored Lego and my large credit card bill (0% interest until this October) are testament to this! Like most BrickPickers I'm aware of, my approach was generally to buy on 30% discount or more and get at least one of each set for my personal collection and then multiples of sets I thought would do well at EOL. Despite not…

So tonight I did something I told myself I would never do...buying a bulk listing off Craigslist. 2-3 times a week I'll scroll through CL, offerup, letgo, etc to see if there is any deals or anything worth while. I've bought a few sets off offerup/Letgo with overall success from my reason used Tumbler for 160 or the UCS AT-ST for 120. I've always looked over the "bulk/lot/Lego by the pound" post for the thought of going through all the sets gave me shivers down my spine. Despite that feeling I came across a deal I didn't want to pass up. I bought roughly 130 sets for 700 dollars tonight. Sets from all different themes (mainly city and SW) from Detective office to Kwik E…
