Citizen Brick recently came out with an "Albuquerque action squad" minifigure pack, with the figures being based on the characters from Breaking Bad . pic and link http://www.shop.citizenbrick.com/Albuquerque-Action-Squad-CB720571.htm they go for 55$ and are a limited run. what do you guys think on the potential profitability of these figs? keep in mind the Citizen Brick Breaking Bad Superlab Playset, which sold for 250$ is currently going for between 560$, and 700$ on ebay. http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_sacat=0&_from=R40&_nkw=superlab+playset&LH_Complete=1&LH_Sold=1&rt=nc will the profits be more of the same? or was it just a one tim…

  2. I'm an inexperienced seller and, after checking some prices on Bricklink, there's something I don't quite understand. Why would someone pay almost double for a set when the cheapest option (~70

I came out of my Dark Ages a couple years ago when I found all my old Lego while cleaning out my moms basement. As a child I thought I had a huge Lego collection, and by 80's standards maybe I did. Anyway while researching eBay prices on 15 pounds of random old Lego I was shocked by how much it was selling for. And a second part time job was born. As a child I would build a set once, play with it for a while, then break it apart and use the pieces for my own creations. I mention this because instead of selling them I gave all my old Lego to my then 5 year old. He is more of a build, play, display, play some more type of collector (he must get that from his mother). So tod…

  6. So yesterday I hit my local target and picked up some Super Heroes sets under the discount stacking for 35% off. Scored some descent stuff including a Batwing. Well in a corner of the toy section I found a Superman Vs Power armour lex set marked repackage and it had been re-taped. Since it worked out to like 10 bucks I figured it was a good candidate for parting out. I did prepare myself for the gamble that it quite possibly could be incomplete. But hey worth a shot right? Cracked it open tonight and well...wow. No instructions, no minifigs. A re-taped bag, an open bag and one sealed bag....all of which appear to be from different sets. So I am curious w…

The new Maersk Triple - E has sold out in less than 48 hours on shop @ home, same with GGWB from star wars.

Couldn't help notice Galaxy Squad and Castle, as well as any Lord of the Rings sets (Including Tower) were not in the newest Lego catalog. Galaxy Squad and Castle already on their way out? Obviously, LOTR isn't totally done, as they still have ROTK movies to do sets for, but I found it interesting the Tower wasn't in there. Obviously, no Haunted House as well. Between Lone Ranger, Galaxy Squad, and Castle, this is quite a theme turnaround in a short amount of time. I see the new Movie sets, and of course the Flexons or whatever the hell those things are, and the new Disney Princess line. They really seem to be pushing the whole Cops and Robbers thing a lot in City …

Hi all. I am new to this forum and just came out of my dark years. For the last 3 months I've tried to grab all the sets I could before they were discontinued, (at the cost of makin' my wife mad, but that's another topic ).Considering I am Italian (and I work for an Italian company, so I earn euros) but I live in Japan, I could partially benefit of the huge rise of the european currency compared to the yen (currently the euro-yen exchange is more or less 1:144,5). Anyway. I noticed from the start that lego in Usa are considerably cheaper that in the rest of the world. Still, Lego seemed to somehow fix prices according to the different currencies, at least to a certain ext…

I had a customer purchase a Sydney Opera House (Architecture) off of me for $71 after shipping. Apparently, I forgot to take the $39.95 label off the bottom (thanks Barnes and Noble). Now she wants a refund. Amazon contacted me, and said the following: Details: Customer received in the box label of the manufacturer, sticker $39.95. Now customer demands a refund for this case since she paid $71.04. Please research the issue and contact the customer at XXX-XXX-XXXX. /sigh I called her back and got an answering machine. I said who I was and why I was calling but was cryptic because who knows if the person the item was intended for would hear. Just said tha…

I am in the process of re-bagging my used Tower Bridge to sell in the future and was wondering what would be the best way to organise pieces into bags? 1. Build order? 2. Type and size? 3. Colour coordinated? 4. Random? Also, would you recommend using original bags (which have been carefully opened) or would you use resealable bags? Any pointers would be appreciated.

For those of us who sell on ebay. Does anyone use portable soft lightbox to take pics of minifigs and smaller sets? Ez cube while top grade is a little too expensive and will not pay for itself for awhile and do it yourself setup is not very portable. So are there any other decent quality portable lighting kits that are available? I of course looked on ebay and saw bunch of them for 30 dollars but they looked like cheap knockoffs to me.

  17. Started by Achilles,

Since these themes are not ones I am very knowledgeable about, can anyone share some opinions here? I know the big box retailers don't carry these usually, so anytime we get a 25% coupon from B&****** or whatnot, should I be picking up Arch sets? I am a little leery on the investment value of these, as the primary driving investment force seems to be minifigures, and obviously these have none. Should these be flipped for a 10-15% profit after coupon? Or held on to? Which of these sets will be worth holding on to? If any? Technic - Similar sort of thing. Should I be using TRU coupons/discounts to load up on some of these sets? Any thoughts as to what makes …

  18. Looking to buy around $700 worth of hard to find parts from Germany. Can anyone tell me what I can expect to pay in import duties for a shipment to New Jersey? I tried using some online tools but wanted to hear from people who have actually done it. Als, I don't want to pull any "gift" stuff or otherwise; I just want to be prepared and include it in my overall project budget.

  19. I waited too long for buying and listing Dolphin Cruiser sets on eBay / Bricklink (starting this week). Nevertheless, I can flip just about every older set (Cars, Toy Story, new, old, no box, with box, incomplete) but not a frakin DC. Now Amazon has them back in-stock for $67. Thus, I'm done flipping. Not because it doesn't work (because it does) but it isn't for me. I compare flipping to my past days as a "for pleasure" daily stock trader. I got killed due to my timing. Then when I moved into 1-2 year stock investing, I made nice cash for 4 straight years before rolling that money into Lego instead of buying NFLX at $67/share

Any of you know of or use some type of program that can cull tracking numbers from ebay sold to get a real tracking on them? The tracking in the phone app is a joke. Many of my sales show as acknowledged, even though they were delivered 4 days ago. I am trying to figure out after 200 sales..why only 3 gave feedback. Was wondering if packages weren't delivered yet..when I noticed this mess. I've been cutting track number out of ebay sold, and pasting into usps and getting real track info...but that got old after 3, and real old after 5.

Since this will be my first "After Christmas Clearance" to experience, what can I expect? Are we thinking that Target will mark down sets on the 26th? (which is their normal Thursday markdown day). Does Walmart Act that fast, or will they individually (store to store) mark down over the next week? I have to drive almost 1 1/2 hours to get to a few Targets, trying to plan this out. Do they ever have great deals online after Christmas, or is this mostly in store? What is has been your experience? Thanks!

  23. Interesting article from the Alistair Barr of the USA Today. The future of LEGO set procurement is shifting more and more to online sales. The IPads of the world are making it easier to buy(and sell) LEGO sets. The article also mentions LEGO sets as "hot toys" and mentions eBay as the place to buy sets that cannot be found at primary retailers. Overall, a positive for LEGO investing in my opinion... 24. BrickFanatics has released the results for their Lucky #7 LEGO Set Award: The Set of the Year. This year, 4 sets were in nominated by the 5 judges, therefore two votes for one set.
