THE BRICKPICKER LEGO SET REVIEW/BLOG ARTICLE CONTEST IS HERE!!! Jeff and I are proud to announce this contest for all registered BrickPicker members. It will be based on LEGO set reviews, Evalution Corner and Blog articles. We will judge the winners on several aspects, such as overall quantity, content and quality. We will take into consideration the quantity of reviews and articles you submit and the content and quality of those reviews/articles/blogs. Just because you pump out more reviews than other members, if your content and quality are subpar or very average, we can elect someone else the winner. The basic BrickPicker Set Review will be accepted at 1000 character…

Here is something I have wanted to put together for some time. Working on Brick Classifieds, I realized I had already made a few bits of code that will work well for finding out the value of some of these listings we find on eBay and Craigslist. Is this eBay listing really worth $1799? Go ahead, try out the new tool and find out. I think you will find that it is overpriced!! Use the tool to make people offers on their lots. Send them to the site so they can find out for themselves. It's Very Simple to Use!!! I worked it out so that for many of the listings, you can just paste in their list of set numbers and set titles. When you hit the "Process Set…

I was just wondering how long a set had to be out for the price guide to show how much it was worth?

Curious if anyone thinks that there should be a forum called "Multi-media" or "Brick-Videos" something of that nature? Posting reviews (users), showing off our collections, rants and other videos related to LEGOs. Discuss!

I'm new here, so please excuse me if the answer is elsewhere in the forums. I'm a little confused as to how the Market Value (New) is determined. I was in Target and saw the LSW Planet Series 3 Republic Assault Ship & Coruscant on clearance. I pulled out my phone and entered the part number (75007) on this site and saw that the MV(******) is $19.10. So I said to myself, "Self, this looks like a good deal" and picked up several. After getting home, I investigated a little further and saw that the item was readily available online through multiple major retailers for ~ $9.99. Therein lies my confusion: How can a set have a MV(******) higher (in this case muc…

Just a fair warning to everyone as the Double Brickpoints event will be ending by tomorrow on September 21. I would guess by the end of the day at 11:59 PM (unless Ed or Jeff need to correct me here) so if you have any set reviews or blogs in the works get them done pronto! :frantics: :frantics: :frantics: EDIT: Thanks for the reminder...We have decided to extend it October 31, 2013...Halloween. Good luck. Ed

Hey - We are thinking of having a new segment on The Brick Show were we specifically talk about investing. One idea we had was to do a monthly video and doing a countdown of your Top 10 most sold sets using this data: http://www.brickpicker.com/bpms/topsellinglegosets.cfm Also, perhaps another using this data. http://www.brickpicker.com/bpms/brickindex.cfm What range is the top selling sets based on? If anyone has other ideas, please post them here. We hope to launch this later this month or Oct. Any name ideas for the segment would be helpful too.

Man......I learned my lesson tonight! Hard style! Saw a hero factory guy I wasn't familiar with on Craig's for 15 bucks. Punched it up on bp as always to see what value was. I did a triple take---checked the part number and picture and description. It was showing worth 120 new...and this one was misb. I immediately emailed and begged her to sell it to me tonight 9pm eastern. She agreed and I punched it---scooting across the state 35 miles. Got the item and a few others she had listed...not really deals....but I was planning a money maker on the hero factory so bought her used junk too for another 30 bucks. I was so happy on the way home...stopped and treated myself …

First, thanks for creating this AWESOME site. I have been investing only since January 2012. I'm curious as to how many new members you have added since that time. And maybe even each year before that. The reason I ask is because there is so much talk about market saturation and influx of new investors. So I figured that you are the one who would see how much growth there has been in the last 1-2 years. If you can share this information that would be great! If not, that's ok too!

This has been brought up in the past and I have let it slip away, but a good post by Comicblast the other day made me think about it again. Some of you are already hunting and locating nice deals on a daily basis and sometimes several times a day. For now I am not looking to do anything too fancy. I will create a new forum group in the Special Deals section for a small group of Brickpicker members that are interesting in scouring Amazon, eBay, anywhere and posting deals. Pretty much it will be a new forum post a day, much like what Comic Blast had there. It can just be called Daily Lego Deals 9/20/2013, etc. The members will be able to edit the main post and add ne…

I've looked everywhere on here and tried to do forum searches to find the answer, but no luck. So... I've seen people post about how many total of X set are in people's Brickfolios, but I can't figure out where to find that data. I've read where people say things like, "When I see how many Fire Brigades are in the Brickfolios, I don't think it's a good investment." Where can I go to see how many of each set are collectively being held in Brickfolios? Thanks!

I saw on the main page there is about 90$ million worth in peoples brickfolios. With 5,000 members, that is about $18,000 per member....Seems a little high..Or maybe I need to step it up!

I got notification over the past few days that 2 members have redeemed the points they earned for spreading the word of Brickpicker on the social media sites. We would like to thank debrick81 and segreto for earning enough points to claim their Target and Starbucks gift cards. It is greatly appreciated to help let people know about Brickpicker. This will help all of us as Brick Classifieds is getting much closer to release. Keep up the great work everyone!

These people take their time to write articles, post pictures, and generally just help OTHER people. For FREE! So stop hitting them with one star. I am sure that they look at it...and it sucks when you spend time doing something for some one else then get hit with a 1-star. Lame. Sorry...end rant. I am also fulling expecting my lame blog to get hit with about 20 1-stars. LOL.

Hey everyone, I'm really new to all of this and I want to start earning brickpoints but I can't find any place that tells me how many I have already. Do I start earning them the moment I opened an account? Or is it something that I have to sign up for? I'm confused and just need some advise! Thanks!!!

Jason from The Brick Show and I correspond from time to time. He is a member on this site and they use our data in most of their LEGO investment series videos. There is now a new link on our site for Lego Investing videos with the spotlight on The Brick Show investment videos. I think they do a great job with them and we will continue to post the latest videos as they produce them. If you have not watched any of them, I recommend that you do. http://www.brickpicker.com/bpms/lego_investing_videos.cfm
