Hello BrickPickers... It's that time of year again. Time to raise money for my son Max's school, St. Paul School in Burlington, NJ. After a very...VERY...successful first BRICKPICKER LEGO RAFFLE in which we raised over $62,000.00 for the school, it is time to start thinking about this year's version. The money we raised last year literally kept the school open...which is a great thing. It's a special school that once again was voted BEST Private School in Burlington County, NJ by The Burlington County Times, along with numerous other awards. We picked up 25 new children this year, which is great news as well. This year, Jeff and I will be chipping i…

I just activated a new feature that we are calling "Brickpicker Promotions" for the forum that will allow members to post Want Ads, Trades and External Sales. It is Free!! When you post an ad, a thread will be created in the current (renamed) Trade forum. Images and descriptions are required for all posts and posts will need to be approved. You can advertise items that you are looking to buy, items you are looking to trade or even items you are trying to sell from external sites like eBay and Amazon. Hopefully you are posting because its a good deal or have a special you would like to offer Brickpicker members. It is a very simple system but can be effective if used …

Good day! Need some help with BrickFolio. Added Angry Birds King Pig's Castle item # 75826 into Bickfolio but it did not show up on 'view BrickFolio items'. This means that I cannot edit or delete this item. However, it does show up on 'my BrickFolio' so I know it is added into the BrickFolio. Anyone's else had the same issue or know a way to resolve? I thought BrickFolio is a superb concept and really hope to get it to work. Thanks for sharing!

Looking at the value of an older set, 8247-1: Road Rebel, I see that the value went to zero in June. I understand that for some sets that do not have much activity there is not much price data, but shouldn't there be some "boundary checking" that stops a value from going to zero? (or are there some sets so useless you have to give them away ) I also noticed that the "used" value was higher than the "new" value for this set -- also odd...

I know there are videos of people unboxing sets, and some sets are easier than others to identify how many bags (like 3x bag 1's, and 2x bag 2's, ... 3x bag 14's), and that these bags are in a sub box, etc. Anyway what about brick picker making a catalog of the sets, and as a community when we unbox any set that is not in this catalog take note of how many of each bag and take pictures of say all of the bag 1's and bag 2's, etc.? I have thought about doing this for some time heck whats another domain (when you already have 160, lol), and I already have servers in a colo. I know I started the writing the framework for this. I would be happy to help and or do…

Yes, thanking other members for such services as: hooking you up with coupons, finding deals, helping with info and much more is needed to show the love around here... I'll start it off and say, Thanks hxckid88, you hooked me up with a much needed B&****** 20% coupon, which will be put to good use! See how easy that was? Now you give it a go!

I think this might qualify as a possible update to Brickpicker when there is a chance to do so? Don't get me wrong, Brickpicker is great but i am thinking about improving just a tiny aspect of it. Here goes. When downloading the brickfolio data as an excel file, is it possible to have the items to be downloaded listed in checkboxes. Meaning we can just check the boxes for items that we want to download and leave the rest in the system. All this so that we download a more sort of tailored list that each individual wanted instaed of going into excel again ande deleting columns and sorting...(not that difficult but...) If the above is too difficult for the progamer to do so,…

Hello, I love this site and find it very very very helpful. I visit multiple times a day. I've noticed in the Amazon discount page that the lego angry birds which are currently discounted are not showing up on brick picker's discount page. Anyhow. A thousand thank yous for this great site.

Hi there I am an overseas buyer who purchases a lot of items off Ebay. As postage is quite a significant cost should I add postage to the purchase price and make that the purchase price in Brickfolio? I have my own spreadsheet as well with all the costs in it, but in terms of working out if my investment is increasing I need to take the total cost into consideration. You mention you are working on a new version of Brickfolio, would this include a section that took postage into consideration? Thanks for your help.

Ok, the full January 2014 and February 2014 is now available. Over the next 1-2 days I will continue to comb through it and look for issues/misses/etc. That happens everything month. I have also pushed updated brickfolio code that will now allow those of you outside the USA to select one of the 3 other available datasets to base your brickfolio on. (GBP, EURO, AUD) Just click the Change Currency button on the main Brickfolio dashboard page and it will allow you select the dataset. I just ask for a little patience still with this as every update we look for inconsistencies with the data from these other regions. Trying to find issues with over 10,000 sets takes…

Hello, I've added nearly all of my investing sets into BrickFolio, a really nice feature. Can I confirm the prices used are 'sold' prices and not 'going rate' prices, and if these prices are calculated from worldwide sales or those just is the USA? As an active buyer, and one who is keen to be a value buyer, I'm finding a discrepancy between the prices on BrickFolio and the prices commonly asked – somewhere in the order of 25-35% usually, but can be as high as 200%. Don't get me wrong, I agree that 'sold' prices are a much more valuable tool for valuations that asking prices, but that would depend on if it was country-specific data collection. In general…

Just wanted to give everyone a heads up about a change in what was a weekly article showcasing the Top 10 Sellers in the US Shop at Home website. Given that the trend seems to be for the list to be filled mostly with minifigure packs, smaller "accessories", and things of the sort, I think it will be more productive to transform the article into a monthly update. I will be tracking the Top Sellers list daily/weekly, and at the end of the month will tally up the results and calculate an average position for each set. The first article will be up the first week of March with February top sellers. Expect a little more info then. Thanks!

DadsAFOL, I am going to hijack your initial post here to put what I had written up but couldn't post because I had no idea my internet just went down, but you still get the credit for finding it first Today, Ed and I are very happy to announce that the BrickPicker Price Guide now includes current pricing from BrickLink. This has been a request that we have been asked about MANY times over the past few years and there wasn't really all the much we could do. We asked and while there was interest, not much could be done with the old owners of the site. A few days ago, I received a note from the COO of BrickLink asking if we interested in moving forward with what can …

Ed received the first copy of the book to review from the publishers and I am finally getting my first look at it. I have to say, it's pretty exciting to see months of work in a completed form. It really looks great and very proud of it. There is only about a month to go before it's released to the public which will be both exciting and nerve wracking to see what everyone thinks. If you haven't preordered it yet, pre-order it from Amazon now!

I have brought this up in the past, but now with the way that the world of SEO and Google works we need to create more of our own content. The blog aggregator that I built may eventually penalize us. I am looking for a few Brickpicker's that have an interest in blogging to help keep up on the daily Lego news, announcements, deals and investment stuff. Please let me know if you are interested and have the extra time to work on this.

For those of you that use the Stock Tracker Alerts system, I would like to ask if you can try out a feature I am working on for doing Browser Notifications. Right now this is for Chrome and Safari Browsers. Firefox is in beta and will be available in a few weeks. IE or whatever it is called will be after that. The alerts will show up even if you are not on the Brickpicker site. Please visit this link: https://www.brickpicker.com/brickwatcher/lego-stock-checker-roost-push-notifications.cfm If you are logged in you will be prompted to allow notifications, please make sure you hit the 'Allow' button. Please then go throu…

Plenty of times on the forum, we see members pointing out good and bad deals from Craigslist listings. Recently I started to spend a little more time on the site to see what is going on. Overall I find some pretty cool finds from time to time. All aren't in my area, but I do like to look and see what is around. I put together a simple feature that will allow you to select several Craigslist regions and be able to look at all of them at the same time. You can also filter the listings by region easily to make it a little easier to see what is available in your area. This is a work in progress, but here are some features that I will be adding to it real soon: Keyword…

First, let me apologize for the downtime in the forum we just had. I was not expecting that. I thought I was doing a quick maintenance release to get ready for this 4.1 update of the forum. I guess they just pushed the 4.1 update and luckily it went through without any errors. One cool thing you will want to do is allow the browser notifications. I think it is very cool if you are active in the forum. Below is a large list of updates in the release. The activity stream is also a big update. You can no configure multiple streams for yourself to get the information you look at most often. Key Changes Changes and New Features Include: …

You may have noticed seeing a bunch of mini flags next to user names throughout the forum and wonder what that is about. In the previous version of the forum we did have a plugin that identified the location of where people are from. Overall I think this is good know since the LEGO situation is different in all parts world. Currency, discounts, inventory, special releases and just the overall buying and selling of LEGO is different. At least now you may have an idea that they may be talking from experience from 5,000 miles away from where you are. There is also an added benefit of finding people that are local to you to strike up a conversation. I kno…
