Jeff just added TOP TEN forum data... It drills down so check it out!

  2. Started by Ed Mack,

If you have some basic questions about the new forum and some of its features, here is a HELP PAGE that will help answer many basic questions....

  3. Sorry for the long title. Basically it is not recognising that I am signed in. So it is limiting me to 3 searches then asking me to register or sign in. I sign in but it loops back to the Limit Reached screen, please sign in. This is both on the ipad and desktop so I assume it is not me..... but no-one else has posted about so it might be Obviously the forum is working because I am able to write this...

  5. I can load Brickpicker's main site and the forums correctly from my kindle fire. However, I can get the kindle to recgonize the text entry field. A keyboard never pops up when selecting the text entry field, be it a private message, fast reply, or normal post. Anyone else having this issue?

I don't mean this to be an obnoxious request, but a possible suggestion which may be implemented at some pint in the future. Would it be possible to have a comment section for each review where members can discuss the opinions put forward in the review? Also, if you gave 2-5 Brickpints per comment, members would be more motivated to read reviews and give feedback. Just something to throw onto the idea board.

Hey Ed and Jeff what happened to the brickpoints? forgive me if you posted something about it in the other forum topic, if you did, I missed it.

  8. I can't log in manually to this site, as it says my password is incorrect. I can only log in by clicking on a registration link in my email... The big problem though, is that clicking on "forgotten your password?" on the login box just takes you back to the forum page.

  9. OK, I know I am probably being thick here but I cannot work out how to change my profile picture. On the old system there was a list to choose from, this seems to have gone. but I can see that "clever" people have managed to do it. I have found the upload photo section in the "Profile Settings" section but that seems only to be able upload one of your own photos. I am sure I am missing something simple..... What am I doing wrong? PS I have also looked at the FAQs section...

  10. Hi to any of our German speaking Brickpicker members. I am just looking for a little help with some phrases for some filters I have for sorting the data. If you don't mind, I would like to send a few your in a PM to see if it helps with our processing of this data

  11. Well Ed and I are happy to finally release the updated set guide page that includes pricing for sold listings for the UK, EU Region and Australia. For a while before actually working on the data, I myself was rather hesitant if it was worth all the trouble adding and the cost, but honestly....WOW!!!, there really is quite a difference for many sets and this definitely was a great upgrade and without a doubt makes Brickpicker the most informative LEGO price guide on the internet. Quick note: Make sure you reload your page to down the lastest style sheets and/or scripts to make sure the page looks correct All pricing is based on native currency, there are no more c…

  12. I use firefox for my browsing and for some reason I cannot log into the forums using it. Just wondering if anyone else is having problems? Maybe an addon causing the problem?

  13. Great job especially for being as young as you are! (That was not meant in any way as a slam on your age, but coming in fourth at age 13 ahead of three moderators is pretty sweet!)

Before going too heavy into the poll system (of which I am eagerly awaiting to play with ), I want to ask which would people generally prefer? Public or private polls? I also ask because I will have to restart a lot of older thread polls (like the Favorite Minifigure ones and Favorite Theme) and I do not want to alienate anyone from making their voice being heard in a friendly vote. If it depends on the thread poll question itself, please leave a opinion so that I may understand.

I am just writing to let people know that at any time, the forum may come down and it may come down for a few hours or honestly an unspecified period of time. I may not shut the forum down completely, but may remove the permission to post and reply to or add new topics. Hopefully everything will go smooth, I know there will be some things that are not there at the start and will need to catch up on a few features, but it will eventually get put together. I don't have an ETA for this, but it will be soon. Just be patient with the updated one once it switches over, I am sure there will be a few things that need to be sorted Jeff

  16. http://www.brickpicker.com/bpms/set.cfm?set=10182-1 how is this set calculated? a new set has dropped from $1200 in March to $680 or so in April. But look close, there were multiple used set sold for less than $20-40. There were only few new sets sold from $1100-1800. It is kind of hard to see your own brickfolio suddenly drops from positive gain to negative loss within one month but knowing the calculation is definitely off. It should be a price guide but turns out to be price scare. Could this be fixed in the system?

  17. What would you guys (everyone in the forum, not just Ed and Jeff) think about doing some sort of Mega Poll to determine what is the best investment currently out there in the mind of all the members? I was thinking about setting up a bracket sort of like March Madness where some of the most popular sets out there would go against each other with voting open for a week or so on each "match" and the winner would advance to the next round until there is only one left: the best investment currently available as chosen by the members. Imagine doing a VC vs Helm's Deep, R2-D2 vs X-Wing, etc, etc. Just wanted to throw it out there in case there is interest on this. I of cours…

Hey everyone, I just imported my brickset collection into brickpicker (thanks for allowing this feature!) but unfortunately most of my sets are used so my brickfolio information is misleading. I would like to avoid setting every set to 'used' individually, is there a way to set them all to used and I can mark the few that are still new? This would really help me out.. Thanks! --kelano

  21. Please use this thread to post any possible errors or incomplete data you've encountered on the site. There are over 9000 LEGO sets, so I'm am sure there is some data or facts that are incorrect or incomplete. Jeff and I will take a look at the issue and see if we can correct it. Some old MSRPs are missing, so feel free to let us know if you know the value of some of the older, retired sets. Please help Jeff and I improve the data and information on the site. No issue is too small, so post it here. Thanks... Ed Mack

Hi everyone, I have memberships at both Rebrickable and Brickset and both fail to load from these sites the set lists, is there a solution to this? I cannot seem to find anyone else suffering these issues when I looked across the forum. It simply says login failed, I tried username AND email address for username at brickset, but both have the same issue. Sean.

First of all, thanks for the effort made to maintain this website. I believe what I found was possibly discussed before..... I understand the calculation of the market value is averaged out based on the sales from ebay. However, I have noticed that sometimes for example, for a certain set, if you look in detail about the listing from ebay, you would see some listing has nothing to do with this specific set because the description might contain some info about a certain set but not necessarily it is the listing for that specific set. I also notice the following, for example, 21017, imperial hotel, the market value is 76.33. if you look into the sales, there is …
