Pretty simple idea. One of the joys of checking out Toys R Us in person is seeing the Lego prices. Post the funny ones you see in this thread. I'll start. Went to one near me to check out BOGO possibilities. Pretty much everything was marked up - even higher than a different store near me in a more affluent area. Had some good chuckles, but these two took the cake: Jabba's Palace, and The Malevolence....for.......$164.88 each!!! Amazon had Jabba for like $83 at one point today, lol. Might be hard to top that. What else have you guys seen?

Toys R Us has changed the conditions of their rewards program as of early 2015. These changes are not well documented on the TRU reward website and these changes are important if you wish to gain maximum value from their rewards program. Here's a short guide on these changes, how the program works, and how to gain maximum value from TRU rewards. 1) Sign up and point accrual. You need a TRU rewards account, its easy to sign up online or in person. Here's the link for on-line sign up. You get 1 reward point for each dollar spent, the equivalent of 4% back on your purchase. 2) Reward Amounts. Rewards are issued in $5 increments, and require 125 points for eac…

Moving along to the last US retailer with store exclusives, here is the (work in progress) list of 'hard-to-find' sets for Toys R Us. As with the other two related threads, any help completing the list would be very much appreciated. (Somehow I imagine this one becoming quite large very quickly.... ) Prices shown are based on actual retail; not the typical inflated ones. Creator 5771 - Hillside House $69.99 (2011) The Hobbit 30212 - Mirkwood Elf Guard $3.99 (2012) 79004 - Barrel Escape $39.99 (2012) City 7848 - Toys R Us Truck $44.99 (2010) 3658 - Police Helicopter $34.99 (2011) 4642 - Fishing Boat $19.99 (2011) 4438 - Robber's Hideout $39.99 (2012) 44…

I just received this coupon in the mail from Toys R Us and it says it's going to be 25% off "anything" (regular price, clearance, sale items, etc) good through Sept. 19 - 21. You'll need to use your Toys R Us Credit Card to take advantage. On the back it does say it excludes all Hot Deal or Hot Price items. I did see all the Hard To Find Lego items online are now marked with the "Hot Price" tag. It says the coupon can be used in-store or online, so I hope some of the sale prices on regular Lego items hold out online until Saturday. http://www.toysrus.com/shop/index.jsp?categoryId=22728306&camp=MISC:Vanity:printads:TRU:Friends:91613

I do not shop much at tru mainly because the prices are so high. I also find the practice of raising the price just to mark the item down and say it is on "Sale" very deceptive...My main question is why so many people bash them for having higher than retail prices on Lego. These same peple want to buy Lego cheap so they can charge higher than retail prices. I just dont buy there and choose cheaper outlets unless there is a great promo or gift.I dont have any problem with a store charging more than retail and would not be mad at them if that is what I was planning on doing also. There is money to made on lego even at MSRP Toy R Us Knows this they are a fellow competitor and…

Interesting article...could it have something to do with these steep discounts on lego? Get rid of stock to either juice the financial report or help during bankruptcy? http://qz.com/148668/this-christmas-could-be-make-or-break-for-toys-r-us/

I received my first rewards coupons in the mail today. Two $5 rewards that expire on 3/15/14 and another two $5 rewards that can be used from 3/16/14 - 3/31/14. Is this normally how they send out rewards? You have to use them within a two week window? That seems really lame.

Those words were uttered to me today, by the clerk that rang me up at TRU today. She said that LEGO is a "high theft" item, and that they've had too many people buy LEGO at Target (in the same shopping center), and return it to them. So all sales of LEGO are final, and they won't take them back. I asked her if this was new, and she said that it has been their policy for awhile. Now, I'm not so sure of that; I've been buying LEGO at this store for a long time; even bought something at this store yesterday, and this is the first time this "policy" has ever been mentioned to me. It wouldn't surprise me if the manager did inact this policy, though. This par…

I have wondered this for some time now, how long does everyone think they will be in business? I know some think that TRU is a thriving entity, but fact of the matter is that they are really not. Any predictions on how long before they have to shut their doors or do some of y'all think that will never happen. I say this with 100% percent honesty, if TRU was giving anyway LEGO sets I wouldn't think twice about not going there.

I have had great packaging w TRU but the more expensive the set, the worse shape they are upon arrival. The top is the original and the bottom is the replacement. ..not sure which is worse. I cannot even fathom why someone would even waste the time to ship it in the first place.
