Toys R Us has changed the conditions of their rewards program as of early 2015. These changes are not well documented on the TRU reward website and these changes are important if you wish to gain maximum value from their rewards program. Here's a short guide on these changes, how the program works, and how to gain maximum value from TRU rewards. 1) Sign up and point accrual. You need a TRU rewards account, its easy to sign up online or in person. Here's the link for on-line sign up. You get 1 reward point for each dollar spent, the equivalent of 4% back on your purchase. 2) Reward Amounts. Rewards are issued in $5 increments, and require 125 points for eac…

Pretty simple idea. One of the joys of checking out Toys R Us in person is seeing the Lego prices. Post the funny ones you see in this thread. I'll start. Went to one near me to check out BOGO possibilities. Pretty much everything was marked up - even higher than a different store near me in a more affluent area. Had some good chuckles, but these two took the cake: Jabba's Palace, and The Malevolence....for.......$164.88 each!!! Amazon had Jabba for like $83 at one point today, lol. Might be hard to top that. What else have you guys seen?

Moving along to the last US retailer with store exclusives, here is the (work in progress) list of 'hard-to-find' sets for Toys R Us. As with the other two related threads, any help completing the list would be very much appreciated. Creator 5771 - Hillside House $69.99 (2011) The Hobbit 30212 - Mirkwood Elf Guard $3.99 (2012) 79004 - Barrel Escape $39.99 (2012) City 7848 - Toys R Us Truck $44.99 (2010) 3658 - Police Helicopter $34.99 (2011) 4642 - Fishing Boat $19.99 (2011) 4438 - Robber's Hideout $39.99 (2012) 44…

I just stumbled on these, had not seen them mentioned here. Apparently there were TRU pop ups in Japan last fall that had them. Look great. Anyone have any?

https://www.cbsnews.com/amp/news/toys-r-us-coming-back-to-open-holiday-pop-up-shops-in-600-kroger-stores/ The article says its "toys from some of Toys R Us' former private labels, including Zone, Imaginarium, Journey Girls, Edu Science, You & Me, and Just Like Home". But Kroger already stocked Lego for the holidays, so it will be interesting to see if Kroger ups the amount they order this year.

My wife and I got new "R"Us credit cards in the mail yesterday and while trying to activate them we were told in a recording that the account had been closed. Today I spoke with a 3rd-level employee (the last link in the "I want to speak to your supervisor" chain) at Synchrony Bank, the issuer of "R"Us Credit Cards. I was told that with TRU's bankruptcy and liquidation, Synchrony's client services group is closing and ALL "R"Us credit card either have been or shortly will be closed. My account was closed yesterday 5/9. As for now technically the accounts are still active, but cardholders cannot make purchases. We can only make payments. Since Synchrony Bank is i…

I am trying to pay online with the TRU CC and it keeps on giving me an "error" stating "please enter name" There is no place to put a name when you hit edit for the credit card. Just a spot for the security code. Anyone have any idea on what they want. The TRU site always seems to be an issue with me. Tried different browsers too.

Forgive me if I missed this but I haven't been too active on the board. I thought I read something that we can't use rewards points online for Lego? Am I completely misinformed? I am about to print out some points and was going to use them for a set. Please set me straight

Picked up a few of the 60098 Heavy Haul Train sets during the 20offlego sale last Friday. Sadly, one of them arrived with tape sealing one end, so I weighed it against the others and noticed it was a little heavy. Luckily, when I opened it up, there was still a complete train set inside... Decided to build it instead of hold it. Not sure someone else would be as thrilled with a blue heavy hauler.

Before my TRU ban and the need to create a new account, I could not log in and review my past orders. It got progressively worse the longer I had the account. I attributed it to old servers running in a 1970's era IT facility somewhere in a back corner of TRU HQ. After many minutes following my login credentials, the server would error out. After my new account was created, my order review is much quicker and I can actually look at my past orders from the new account. So, it turns out you can fill an account with so many orders that it will timeout the query. Might be a good idea when you change your clocks and the batteries in your smoke alarms, tha…

So I've had multiple orders now that were partially paid with GC's (remaining balance made up with the TRU MC) that TRU cancelled but have failed to reinstate the GC balances. Customer Non-Service gives me the same run-around about giving it 3 to 5 business days even through it has been weeks since the orders were cancelled. I'm basically making it my new policy to use a CC for 100% of any online purchase -- so I have the chargeback recourse if needed. It wouldn't be bad to suck up the losses as a cost of doing business, but based on the the number of cancellations recently, it's amounting to close to 5% of the Discounted GC savings. I'll save the GCs …

LEGO Toys R Us Build Event - Mini Poe's X-Wing Fighter - November 17, 2015 Toys R Us building event for a mini LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens X-Wing Fighter. This event will be held on Saturday, November 14 from 12-2pm. This X-Wing is Poe Dameron’s version and is slightly different from previous X-Wings we’ve seen from Toys R Us. Mark your calendars because I expect this building event to be very popular ahead of the release of The Force Awakens in December.
