Toys R Us

Talk about Toys R Us... Good or Bad

  1. Are they worth spending 60$ at Toys r Us to get? Im new to collecting, and just wondering if these will have any collector value in the future. I picked up vol 1 last week, but they had a sale buy one set get 1 40% off. So I picked up 2 Duo Funhouses (6857), but this week with no sales I cant justify picking up vol 2. I think my money would better be spent on retired sets on ebay. Any veteran insight would be appreciated.

I just received an email from TRU about price matching. Apparently they will match in store purchase prices with a valid competitors advertisement including their web pricing (except for online only purchases). This probably won't combine with their sales, but it might help people that are looking for sets they can't find in stock other stores.

Aside from the current buy 2 get 1free promotion they are currently running Which includes most SW sets for once), their prices are garbage! My question is this though, why are only some sets higher than MSRP? It seems they pick and choose which sets to mark up.

Does Toys R Us jack up the prices of Lego sets before they run this Buy one Get one Half off? It sounds too good to be true.
