Honored Brickfolk, It breaks my heart to do so but the time has come for me to go completely liquid on my collection. Real life issues make this, one of my favorite hobbies, time and cost prohibitive. As I have never had to sell completely, I have no idea how to do it. I would, of course, like to give my brick brother and sisters first shot, but I would also like to sell the whole thing in one go. A few questions in regards to the brickfolio numbers... 1. Which value should I use when assessing value of my collection? The "Brickfolio Value" or "Current Price" seems high and leaves little left "on the bone" for collectors. The "Purchase …

Today I received my Grand Emporium from LEGO Shop at Home, and the box was creased and dented in several places. I am thinking of returning it, however it came with the 40180, Balloon Cart Promo gift. If I return it will I be expected to ship that back with it, and If i decide to buy a new one, what are the odds that I will receive a second Balloon Cart?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/301661108263?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Helicarrier $340.45 - $34.05 (eBay fee) - $9.87 (PayPal fee) - $0 shipping cost (Amazon Prime Account) = $296.53 revenue Amazon Price: $349.95 cost Profit (loss): ($53.42) These types of sellers have great reviews, and I've purchased a few sets from similar sellers with no complaints, but have always wondered how they make any money as they seem to just drop-ship from Amazon US. Do the sellers get discounts based on volume? If so, I would expect to see many more of these sellers on eBay.

So the year is pretty much done in terms of sets to be released that haven´t been leaked - Hoth Exclusive is the main exception. What sets that came out in 2105 have grabbed your attention in a good or bad way and why? Here, in no particular order, are my top 5 good and bad ones: Good. 42043 Mercedes. Pneumatics, record parts content and outstanding use of Lego to create an accurate and complex workingmodel. What many AFOLs have been waiting for. 60095 Boat. I love the shipwreck and the storytelling element to this set. It really stands out from run-of-the-mill City remakes. 750093. Final duel. Good to see a new OT set that isn´t a spaceship. Again, the storyteling elemen…

Greetings, I've been collecting LEGO for the past 8-10 years or so and just out of habit from other collectibles I would buy 2, one to open and one to put away MISB. However as my LEGO collection has grown and the number of sets that has come out has increased in the past 3-4 years I've had to limit many to only one instead of two. I've always been aware that LEGO increases in value after retirement, which is part of the collecting appeal IMO, but after entering my collection into the data base here I was happily surprised at just how much some of the sets have gone up. Now for the dilemma......... As a fan of LEGO and love of the brick I want nothing more t…

Couldn't help notice Galaxy Squad and Castle, as well as any Lord of the Rings sets (Including Tower) were not in the newest Lego catalog. Galaxy Squad and Castle already on their way out? Obviously, LOTR isn't totally done, as they still have ROTK movies to do sets for, but I found it interesting the Tower wasn't in there. Obviously, no Haunted House as well. Between Lone Ranger, Galaxy Squad, and Castle, this is quite a theme turnaround in a short amount of time. I see the new Movie sets, and of course the Flexons or whatever the hell those things are, and the new Disney Princess line. They really seem to be pushing the whole Cops and Robbers thing a lot in City …

The micro Death Star II set is cool but really could have included an exclusive minifig like w/ the micro Harry Potter and Avengers Tower sets. Where are the sales though? At least previous May 4th sales were bad but they were something. The last decent May 4th sale was in 2013 with the $99.99 10227 UCS B-Wing.

When I started investing, I was able to get, 10%, maybe a little more off of sets (most were retired just still on shelf). Then I moved my way to 20-25% off with a few 50% off sets mixed in. Over the past month or so I have been finding 50-75% off sets easily. Does this make you hesitant to jump at 25% off sets? I keep looking at deals on Amazon now and actually thinking that they aren't as great.

Hey everyone, does anyone have pictures of a sealed Lego haunted house box. Showing that Lego use tape to seal the ends of the boxes. I've just sold one on E-Bay and the buyer is claiming that this isn't a sealed set. They are try to get a free set. Please check my e-bay feedback that show I take great care in packaging my items. Ed hope this is ok to post. My e-bay is same as my user name here. I'm not advertising, just would like some help from the community proving that the boxes do have taped ends. Anyway, any help would be appreciated. have fun! Stomping

Let's play a little philosophical investing game tonight - which would you rather? Here are the guidelines: - You can only choose one or the other. - Assume that you could have picked up either of these within the last month at RRP. - I will give you no other information than what you see below, BUT - you are free to use all your resources to make a decision (Brickpicker, eBay, Amazon, etc). I encourage you to make a strong, rational argument with the information that you have at your disposal today. Which would you rather: 9 Sets of Mixels Series 1 or 1 SSD 10221? - 9 Sets of Mixels Series cost $405 ($5 per Mixels times 9 Mixels in a set x 9…

Hi, I am new here posting but been around reading forums, buying and reselling for about a year. What do you think of the following ? Based on the simple rule of supply and demand and critical timing, for nearly retired set, I mean the sets that are only available at Lego SH, just before they go poof everywhere. Can we say that those sets which have the highest price ratio from Amazon to retail are the most promising ones to invest in ? So, in that case let's see as an example, PC -> 214/150 = 1.43 PS-> 229/150 = 1.53 TB-> 350/240= 1.46 Then, if what I say here holds water, it seems that one should get more PS than TB or PC. And more TB than PC What do you think?…

Hello! My strategy is specifically to buy for part out. Time is not a concern for me and neither is the price as a set. Yes I know what this entails and am in the process of organizing and storing now Sharing some deals I did over the past weekend. Collectively the inventory I picked up is worth 1,202 part out value. Cash price 498$. 6 New sets and 2 used sets. The first 4 were purchased on Facebook marketplace. All sets new in box except the Clone Turbo Tank. Initially I offered 230 and we agreed on 290. Payed 300 because I did not have change and he was a service industry worker out of a job. Set #8639 was also purchased from FB Marketplace.…

Ok everyone, I need some feedback here please. I have the opportitunity to buy 10 Fire Brigades and 10 Grand Emporiums (all NISB) for a total of $4000 from a friend who has been sitting on them and now needs the money. That comes out to $150/ea for the GE's and $250/ea for the FB's.. The question is should I or shouldn't I? What do ya think, good deal or not. I'm on the fence with this one.

An article was published today in the UK paper The Telegraph. Ed was interviewed in this article. If anyone in the UK can find a copy of this and send us a few that would be great. I will pay for all costs. Lego a 'better investment than shares and gold'

I shared my Printable LEGO Label collection with many of you in the past, but I wanted to let you know that I just completed a large update which includes many common Technic parts. I got a *lot* of comments and emails indicating that you want more labels, so I hope you enjoy. A sample of the new Technic labels. The labels look great on any organization system. For sets that you might sell Used, do you keep the numbered plastic bags? Would it add to the value?

I bought the Avengers Quinjet set and of course it came with the right corner being crushed. The box is still sealed and intact. Any idea how much this decreases the value?

I've been collecting the modular series since the beginning. Unfortunately with 14 official sets and no apparent desire by LEGO to end the series, it has become overwhelming to display all of these sets at once. I also have young children that love to tear them to pieces so I find myself constantly repairing them. I would like to pick maybe 3 or 4 of my favorites and put them on a shelf high up on the wall and will sell what sets remain. Disregarding the monetary value of these sets which would you pick? Café Corner Market Street Green Grocer Fire Brigade Grand Emporium Pet Shop Town Hall Palace Cinema Parisian Restaurant Detective's Offic…

Just got the Fall catalog. Not too many surprises. Just a few observations. 60098 Heavy Haul train is featured; 60050 and 60052 are nowhere to be found. Hard to see Lego keeping 3 City trains (with 2 Cargo Trains among them). Will 60052 be the first to go? Birds isn't listed under the Ideas sets. Pet shop is pictured amongst the modulars, along with PC. Death Star has prominent placement. The Crawler Crane just looks cool. Gotta pick one of these up. 42009 and 42030 are nowhere in the catalog, either. And the Flagship Technic (Merc Garbage Claw or something) has little appeal (to me). (T1 Camper Van and Minicooper get a whole page as well) I'm sure I missed some s…

Looking to buy around $700 worth of hard to find parts from Germany. Can anyone tell me what I can expect to pay in import duties for a shipment to New Jersey? I tried using some online tools but wanted to hear from people who have actually done it. Als, I don't want to pull any "gift" stuff or otherwise; I just want to be prepared and include it in my overall project budget.
