Hey Canadian Lego fans, I was excited to see that TRU.ca is giving away the Robin polybag 30116 with a purchase over $30 (in store only) on SuperHero sets. I have to say I've had a lot of success selling the Ghost Clocks and Coffin Cars I got the last time I grabbed sets at TRU.ca (yeah, I don't shop there often...not since last Bricktober) I did a quick scan of ebay.com and can't find this set for sale. I'm not 100% sure, but I think I'll try to grab a few tomorrow morning and flip them for $15-20. A guy can try, right? I haven't seen these anywhere else yet, so being the only seller might net a quick profit. I think 25 polybags per store, get'em wh…

  2. What other reward points (excluding Lego VIP) do you collect to trade for Lego? I initially started collecting aeroplan points for travel, but after seeing how much taxes I need to pay on top of the points used, I rather redeem them for pre-paid American Express. I am about 4000 points shy to redeem $1250 in AE cards. I am planning to buy a few exclusive sets in the Lego store once the cards arrived.

  3. Started by Veegs,

I'm sure a few have already seen the flyer for this weekend that has 40% off all MF sets (excluding HH, not that there are probably any anywhere in Canada). This is noteworthy because I noticed TRU must have divvied up some of their remaining MF stock and sent it out - my store was completely out of Ghost Trains, VCs and Crazy Scientists during Bricktober but now have a few of each of these big sets in stock on the shelf. Now that the TRU 'exclusive' nightmare appears to be coming to a close, it looks like they'll be blowing these out this weekend. I'd be shocked if they had any stock left after this weekend (moonlight madness, too, Christmas shoppers aplenty and 40…

  5. As the title says - the small mom&pop LEGO store Lasting Toys in Mississauga appears to be closing it's doors and is having a sale to sell through their stock. They sell a wide range of LEGO, including the current stuff at retail prices, and retired sets at a markup. I'm local to their store, so i'll be checking it occasionally, but their large exclusives (even the ones currently available) usually have a markup already applied, so even at %10 off there isn't much of a deal there. Either way i figure i'd post this for anyone local to the store looking for something, i'm sure there will be good deals to find at some point. The sales are as follows (currently)…

  6. Figured i'd start it's own thread. Great time to potentially grab any LOTR wave 1 sets you've been eyeing (minus maybe Weathertop). It says select sets, so YMMV. If Orthanc is included that would be great! This obviously starts Friday. Sent from my iPhone using Brickpicker

  7. What would you do if a store .. TRU btw .. would call and tell you they found something in there warehouse that you've been looking for so long .. Got a phone call yesterday around dinner time .. -" Hello Sir we have found these sets that you asked for a long time ago ! ... " -What ? .. are you sure .. ? is that some kind of joke to do ?? .. - "No Sir , I really have these in my office waiting for you .." --- Very funny .. you almost got me thinking it was real ... hahahah - " Sir I insist .. I really have these .. come tomorrow morning to pick them up " This morning I called them .. and believe it or not .. I'm now a proud owner…

Any Canadians out there interested in buy a large bulk lot of 115 sets? I would like to sell it in Canada because I think the cost of shipping to the US tracked etc is going to be insane. It is currently taking up two 100+L Rubbermaid containers. I bought a large amount from a local person that kids had grown up and they were moving and needed to get rid of all their toys and lego. It was a lot more work than I expected and after almost 3 months and hundreds of hours, myself and my kids have it all sorted out and want to sell it (which was our end goal when buying). Our 2 week estimate was way off so getting a little pressure to get this sold. All sets around fr…

Amazon.ca has 20% off the following sets it seems: 60052 Cargo Train (Can some BP affiliate link this one?) 75054 AT-AT 75052 Mos Eisley Cantina The only one that really stands out to me is the train but I'm not prepared to buy into that one yet. But maybe for personal collection some of you will want these.

  11. Alright... I'm really hoping to get a few likes for this one... I was disappointed with the TRU.ca sale, so I decided to roam the net, and I happened upon this site... http://www.playvaluetoys.com/ They have the rover available (limit 12 per customer), at 34.99 each. On top of that, they still have Uruk-Hai Armies, Helm's Deeps, Two-Face Chase and a bunch of older SW and POTC sets plus much more! Must check out! Most things are MSRP, but worth it for sets that have long disappeared! Free shipping in Canada with $75 purchase. They ship to US too!

I took a break from writing reviews and found some deals for y'all! The following items are on clearance at Walmart.ca: Krang's Lab $15 TIE Fighter $50 Mobile Police Unit $50 Heavy Duty Police Helicopter $50 Select Hero Factory $10 And the big one: Warp Stinger $20 (half price!) it is out of stock online but still available at many stores Interestingly, all LOTR sets have been pulled from the Walmart website. I don't know the reason for this, but I'm probably going to be running to my Wallyworld soon to see what's up! Good luck in catching the big deal everyone!

  15. Does anyone sell on amazon.ca here? Is it just me or does the lego prices on the Canadian site vs the American site seems ridiculously over priced? Is there a reason for the outrageous pricing (unless it is sold by Amazon directly)? For example - .com vs .ca Pet Shop $224.98 vs C$396.23 Family House $94.99 vs C169.99 I am sure we can go on with the list. I understand the exchange rate... but the premium on .CA is well over the exchange rate. I am just curious if sellers actually move any inventory on the Canadian site.

  16. This is the sort of exposure that could really open people's eyes about this investment potential.

Any Canadian here has used MyUS.com or other similar service to get a US address to buy US-exclusive sets or other merchandise where they won't ship to Canada?

Hey folks! Where are you guys located? I figure if we know of other active investors in the area we can let them know what is available in each region. Missed in my original post. I am in Burlington.

  20. Yaawwwwn.... Another week, another sub-par Toys R US sale. Seriously waiting for a Technic sale! Maybe all the Target clearance nut jobs will clean them out at 20% off .

  21. Started by seapotato,

I've been reading that a lot of people buy from Amazon Europe, but do you still get good deals after the exchange rate in Canada, and shipping costs? Last year when it was a tad over $1.60 CAD for 1 pound when I was exchanging money, and it just seems like it would work out to the same as buying in Canada.

  25. North of the border is cheaper than south of the border. More Americans are bound to raid up north. Would you be willing to pay 199USD plus state tax for a tumbler? Or pay 229CAD plus taxes for a tumbler? Do the math and you'll put together a massive list to clean out at the lego store, and just dump it back down south.
