  1. Started by bosuch,

Just wanted to post a pic of the Lego storage I built. Each unit is 4' wide x 2' tall. I didn't get the stain exactly the same on each one, and the drawers aren't completely uniform - you have to make sure you put it back in the same one it came from - but it works. Of course, they were both immediately full, so I guess I need to go vertical with another pair...

So this is really OT even for the Odds & Ends forum, but I am excited haha. Anyway, my Mom is the type of person who keeps things for a really long time, even if they are terribly out dated. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it". I mean, it has been a good thing, as it taught me to think of all large purchases as an investment for the long term. Helps me save money. So, just yesterday, we stepped into the HD revolution and bought a 50" Panasonic plasma TV. I know it's entirely cliche, but the fact that I can finally see wrinkles in people's faces and notice their make-up is blowing my mind. I mean I've seen HD before obviously but mostly at like places of business where I…

Hey follks! I looked and didn't find a guide for the best way to get your Brickfolio set up and there are nuances that appear to be buried in threads, so I figured I would make a guide. Step 1 is to get registered on BrickSet.com and record your collection there. I've just made a youtube video for this part, which you can see when it's uploaded (youtube is being slow). Everything is pretty intuitive, except for how to record the number of copies of each set (make sure you do Table view when browsing sets). Step 2 is to go to your BrickFolio here (http://www.brickpicker.com/bpms/brickfolio.cfm) and choose that you want to import sets from BrickSet. You …

I just was approved to be a member on Brickset. Anyone else a member? I kind of checked out the forums, but nothing was that interesting to me, after reading through stuff here at BP. would be curious to hear everyone else's thoughts on the forums. Please don't get me wrong, I love Brickset as a resource for set info, but maybe I'll stick to commenting and posting here.

  7. Hey guys, I'll be there are couple days this weekend. Excited to buy some Brickmania sets in person and possibly some other sets! Anyone else coming? I'd love to have a little Brickpicker get together with Rich B and some of us other locals! Respond on here if you are or are trying to come!

I'm looking to pick up a bunch of boxes since as we've said, it's selling season around the corner. My current boxes are a mish mash of different sizes, which is fine for used sets, but I need to safely ship mint boxes. I searched their site for a while earlier today and found some I like, but thought some of you guys that have bought from them before might have some tips for me on what sizes are preferred. Also, if there are any alternatives to Uline. I looked in another thread and someone mentioned getting boxes from Staples. Saving on shipping would be nice since it was estimated at $70 for what I was going to order, which was 150 boxes of differing sizes. Than…

So the other day like many people I went to the Lego Store to pick up a 4x4 truck exclusive. Ended up buying 2. No hot dog stand left unfortunately but decided to get a Friends polybag just for the free ice cream stand haha. Staff was unprepared for some reason and thought the free polybag was some kind of cup cake display...really small so I decided to put back the polybag, don't really want/need it. There was a lady in the store too with 2 young daughters and she kinda freaked out saying that's the only reason why she came in today is for the ice cream stand Guess I could understand...driving here, parking, kids are let down etc. One of the rep was ca…

  11. We're moving house soon and I have been packing all my MSIB Lego sets into moving boxes. My wife saw almost all of what I have and said "Is that all Lego? There's more isn't there? :)" She wasn't angry! She actually smiled! I was so relieved. She's not going to divorce me. And once I started showing her some of the sets, she was enthusiastic about them. I felt a great weight lift from my shoulders. Maybe if she knew how much I'd spent, she'd go nuts, so I'll keep that quiet for now, but the sheer amount of Lego is not making her mad at me, so I'm pretty happy right now.

My wife and I were having a discussion about the new Wolverine movie and how it seemed as though he wanted to die but didn't know how. I said that Wolverine could jump into the ocean and that should effectively kill him because of the pressure under water should cause him to not only drown but explode. She disagrees. Any thoughts?

Not trying to start a fanboy war, but what do you use. I feel this has some relevance with eBay. I personally just made the purchase of a Mac Mini, and made a killer spreadsheet on it. I have not realized I am in far to deep... eBay isn't great on it, but I like it nonetheless. Also, I have a Galaxy S3, so I'm not an Apple guy all around.

  16. I get a lot of emails about discounts for non Lego related items. Most I ignore, but I think some people may like this. This is a huge Harry Potter Boxset. Blueray with Ultraviolet and 3D, etc, etc. Its very nice and usually retailed for more than double this offer. It is a UK deal, so I am not sure if they ship to the US or not. I see it on Amazon for much higher prices. So if anyone is interested. Harry Potter: Wizard's Collection Box Set (31 Discs) (with UltraViolet)

Not sure who this will help but if you ship Priority Mail through the USPS and use Ebay labels (possibly others too) you can choose insurance at no charge up to $100 value. You can read more here: https://www.usps.com/ Hopefully this can help some as we all know the USPS likes to drop kick and step on packages from time to time. At least my mail carrier does. She has anger issues. Its probably all the packages she has to pick up from my house every day.

So in Canada they have the despicable me minion toys now free with any happy meal purchase (or 2 bucks which is half the price of the meal lol) Anybody else collecting these? I think they're 8-10 altogether or something. I've never seen so many adults ordering happy meals in my life.. lol.

I just wonder how that would happen - opened box but sealed bags (all of them). Instructions and stickers are there, looking as good as they could. I see such sets on ebay from time to time, the sellers seem to be reliable and the prices are ok too. Any idea guys? Thanks! If I missed any mentioning about it here - I'd appreciate a link to it

Just took my family for the first time to Legoland in Carlsbad and its is incredibley awesome! It was the first time for all of us. My son is only 8 months old, but never the less I think he enjoyed his time there. It was the least amount of stress I have experienced at any type of amusement park. The most stressful part came when we made our personal minifigures. I came away from the whole experience knowing that there is nothing you can't make out of lego.

  24. (Please me if we already have a topic on this, or just yell 'MERGE!') Obviously, we are all Lego nerds to varying degrees, but you all must have some other area of useless expertise, be it Star Wars, DC, Marvel, games, movies... I personally am a SW nerd, with some LOTR, Bionicle, and basic comicbook lore on the side.

I'm sure some of you have already walked down this path so looking for some advice/life experience here. What started as a simple Lego buy/sell hobby for me is slowly transforming into an online business (e.***. my online selling is slowly becoming less and less Lego and more into other toys, electronics, whatever I can find for cheap and resell online). As a result I'm sure the taxman might like to review my records after a couple of years "if" I do have a successful venture (I didn't expect to be able to break 2-3K in sales so fast on eBay in just a couple of months tbh so if I keep at a torrent pace of buying/selling I'm sure it will reach >10K in no time). So my b…
