(Mods: Sorry in advance if this is posted in the wrong place, but I didn't see a dedicated storage forum. Please move if necessary.) I've been thinking how best to store my LEGO sets that aren't on display. At the moment I have three large plastic tubs (largest is probably 35L, with the other two around half that capacity) holding ALL of the pieces from the disassembled sets, plus the instruction manuals. There is no organisation whatsoever. This means if I want to rebuild any of the sets for display then I have to scrabble around amongst thousands of LEGO pieces to find the bits I need. Obviously this becomes very tedious very quickly! I don't build sets v…

I have been collecting the magazine since issue 7, I'm looking to sell the collection but unsure of price. Can anyone recommend how much to sell for? They are all unread and all come with the polybags. Thanks

With the surprising success of The Beatles Yellow Submarine passing the IDEAS evaluation, what other musical masters would you like to see make their way into LEGO form? Before I had mentioned a Jimi Hendrix tribute would be far out well as that Ziggy Stardust bust from a while back.

Found this in the attic. It is in the original (black and white) box, which shows wear. The set is new. Only one of the internal boxes has been opened, and all parts are still sealed in plastic. I don't see a manual, although I suppose it could be in one of the still sealed boxes. Looking for some advice: What is the best venue to sell? Auction format? Where can I go to get more specific advice on how to evaluate and sell? Unemployed, and need the cash, but also need to get top dollar. Your help is appreciated.

Money no object: the Rebel U-wing or Director Krennic's Imperial Shuttle? Pros and cons of each would be greatly appreciated!

So TRU are doing their annual Easter £10 gift card giveaway for purchases of £40; SAH will shortly giveaway the mini VW Beatle for purchase of £35 and next month will giveaway the R2 along with double vip or 10% off as part of May the 4th. So question is, is here anything that's worth getting to get these giveaways? I was looking in TRU today and apart from a couple of constraction figures that were 35% off there was nothing that looked anything remotely interesting from a personal perspective never mind for investment purposes. Thoughts?

Saran wrap is mentioned thrice in all content so I figured I'd ask here. Would it be advisable to wrap [LEGO] boxes for long term storage as a collector? I'm already storing them in a low humidity unfinished area on shelving. I've seen mentioned that people have used industrial grade shipping plastic wrap as well. I was just unsure if there is any chemicals on saran wrap that would damage the boxes. This is mainly to keep dust/potential bugs off of them. Any other ideas for inexpensive transparent wrap welcome. Another question is to individually wrap all lego or combine multiple same size sets (i.e. constrations, microfighters) or does this risk box wear/sticking t…

Many years ago, I picked up two used but complete Rahkshi at a Salvation Army for $2 apiece. I always regret not getting more, becaue they had all of the Rahkshi, Bohrok, Nuva, and some other stuff. I went back a while later to buy some more, but they THREW IT ALL AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was eather some load of crap broken piece or lead poisoning scare, and I couldn't reason with them. My ten year old self had to stand buy as they dumped dozens of Bionicle, as well as all their other toys, into a big bin to be dumped. JERKS!!!!!!! > >:-( :ohh: :grrr: :ahhh: :vampire:

Hi Brick-pickers! I'm planning to get 3-4 Lego-displays in my living room, but I need some inpiration for what to display. I got the 76023 Tumbler and this is one of the lego-sets which i want to display. I might go for the 10188 Death Star (Since the Death Star II is amazingly expensive, and the New Death Star is ... yeah, you know) Have you any ideas to what I can display? I need inspiration for 1-3 Lego sets.. The thing is, it should not be colorful and it has to be kinda big I have though of gettting the 10228 Haunted House and/or the Slave I, And I might display an Imperial Army/Scenario with 40+ Storm Troopers, Darth Vader, an Imperial Shuttle etc. If …

Hi there, Figured this would be the best forum for my topic. I buy the majority of my Lego from eBay, which I keep as an investment, some of my best turnovers have been in the CMF range (in particular the animal mascots). However, I have recently turned my attention to full-sized Lego sets BNIB mostly in the Starwars range (these sets seem to have the greatest value increases due to the nostalgia factor). I have just ordered the Resistance Troop carrier (75140) from eBay at £40, just 2/3 of the RRP. I know though that as soon as it arrives I will have the urge to open it and build it... If I did so, then I would definitely keep the box, manual and plastic bags in pr…

Just been in Smyths and they have all the June releases out a few days early and across the board I was looking at these sets going, God they're overpriced. A few examples and by no mean the only ones: Volcano Heavy Lifter Helicopter €130 Vader's Tie Advanced vs A-Wing €110 Resistance X- Wing €95 - €10 more than Poe's X-Wing for whatever reason Batman: Scarecrow Harvest of Fear €75 Spiderman Web Warriors Ultimate Bridge Battle €120 Fun in the Park €45 Smyths generally have the same RRP as Lego, so no TRU gouging to start with. I couldn't believe the prices on most of these having only seen the dollar prices in advance, which of …

I have my big haul from Toys R Us sales this weekend currently chilling in my trunk, literally. I'm in NY and we have a little bit of snow and freezing temps in the area. All of these Lego sets are going to their final destination tomorrow at my office/warehouse. Is it safe leaving Lego in a freezing car overnight? Or should I bring them in to the house for the time being?

The calendar you can get from Monday in EU Lego Stores for showing a receipt with a sticker you received for buying something in the last weeks reveals some new sutff I could not find in any database yet: 1.) Marvel Super Heroes: Milano (30449) - seems to be a polybag 2.) Ninjago: Sensei Wu Keychain (5004915) 3.) Friends: Storage Box (40266) - seems to be a mini-build 4.) Lego Birthday Card (5004931) Some (minor) bad news for minifigure investors: The Iconic Easter Minifigure (5004688) will be resurrected once again as a coupon-bound GWP in March.

Question on yield. I'm a long term investor in the stock market. I love its passive nature, you buy stock, sit back and wait for its dividends to roll in. Investing in Lego is similar to commodity investing. In other forms I hate commodity investing, if you're stuck with a commodity that doesn't go up, you can't even take solace in the fact it will be paying dividends while it's in the doldrums. Lego on the other hand has this strange addictive pull, I don't know what it is that attracts me to it, generally I hate non passive investments (by non passive I mean the fact you have to box the products up and ship them hoping you don't catch a bad buyer that derails any pr…

I'm about to make a substantial purchase from a local ad that to me seems like a fantastic deal. However, if anyone can take a few minutes to let me know of the things I absolutely need to check for before walking away and handing over my money, please let me know. I don't think the mini-figures in this case are a huge hurdle as there is no way I'll ever know if the right one's are included or not, except for the Dragon. Here are the set numbers 3178, 3179, 3180, 3222, 3366, 3367, 3815, 3818, 3833,4200,4201,4202,4203,4204, 4206,4206,4208,4431,4432,4433,4434,4435,4436,4439,4441,4641,4642,7207,7239,7286,7636,7638, 7639, 7641, 7744, 7747, 7848, 7942, 8402, 9440, 31010…

I just read an article in the Washington Post about PLEY, formally Pleygo. It would appear that they have received some venture capital to increase their capacity and develop a warehouse on the East coast. Could this hinder the LEGO secondary market in any way? On a side note related to the article...That must be some special scale and weighing algorithm that can differentiate between LEGO bricks and colors. LOL. I can see these sets being returned with candy wrappers mixed in.

Hey everyone, does anyone have pictures of a sealed Lego haunted house box. Showing that Lego use tape to seal the ends of the boxes. I've just sold one on E-Bay and the buyer is claiming that this isn't a sealed set. They are try to get a free set. Please check my e-bay feedback that show I take great care in packaging my items. Ed hope this is ok to post. My e-bay is same as my user name here. I'm not advertising, just would like some help from the community proving that the boxes do have taped ends. Anyway, any help would be appreciated. have fun! Stomping
