To build or not to build

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

Figured this would be the best forum for my topic. I buy the majority of my Lego from eBay, which I keep as an investment, some of my best turnovers have been in the CMF range (in particular the animal mascots).

However, I have recently turned my attention to full-sized Lego sets BNIB mostly in the Starwars range (these sets seem to have the greatest value increases due to the nostalgia factor). I have just ordered the Resistance Troop carrier (75140) from eBay at £40, just 2/3 of the RRP.

I know though that as soon as it arrives I will have the urge to open it and build it... If I did so, then I would definitely keep the box, manual and plastic bags in pristine condition, but how badly will this affect the value?

Any thoughts...?

I'm afraid this ship is not nostalgic but pretty unforgettable. The one plus side is that it is unlikely to ever be remade.

Sorry, I should have been been more specific, I meant Starwars as a while being nostalgic. The actual ship had about 5secs screen time
Hmmm, exclusive Leia TFA minfig. I´d wait a bit to see how that one works out.

Are you suggesting to keep it unopened or just to get great care of that particular minifigure?

I agree, the only reason i got an handful of these was to get the exclusive Princess Leia figure.

Due to this set being heavily discounted in the UK, every tom, **** and harry will be selling the figures over the next 6 months, but after that i think it will do well.
