Stonewars has this slated for October. Trying to put my own excitement aside, I could still see this being in high demand upon release through Q4. At $170 it's at a lower price point than the NES set last year and likely appealing to a larger fanbase. Anyone else think this could be the next easy quick flip after R2-D2 and Botanicals?

Anyone have any good recommendations for display stand sellers in the US? Is it generally just go to Ebay/Etsy? I'm more interested in acrylic stands/cases. I see a lot of cool UK stores but haven't had much luck finding US websites to reduce shipping and time. Thanks!

Does the tightness of the seals affect the value of sets? The seals on my imperial shuttle aren't as tight as I would like them to be.

I've bought about 150+lbs of bulk LEGO over the last couple of years. Some lots more organized than others. So I have grabbed a few buckets and started to sort to sell or keep. I'm finishing up a Toy Story 3 7597 Western Train Chase to get rid of. Missing most of the figures. It'll be 98% complete with a few pieces missing or substituted. Next up I have this. Most likely a keeper. Batman 7888. Missing book 1. The Icecream Truck is somewhere. I remember seeing most of it with the stickers applied. I think I have the minifigures. This was from the very 1st bulk lot I got on EBay and last big one. I had no idea the value of 7888 at the time. I probably paid too muc…

I just started collecting/investing and do not have a lot of knowledge about Lego yet. I have bought Lego mainly from private parties(persons). I see that some sets do not have the 'transparent tape' around them. Should all lego sets have them or is it not for all sets. For example not for the smaller, or cheaper, or older ones. The sets that do not have the 'transparent tape' look like they have never been opened, but I am not sure if this is true. Could someone give me some kind of guideline, or a website where I can find which (if any) sets should not have the 'transparent tape' (I am guessing the transparent tape is the same as 'the seals'?)? And is the…

Over the last 2 years LEGO has been taking more and more (legal) action against German retailers and YouTubers they consider detrimental to their business. Legal alternative brick brands have gotten pretty big in Germany recently - you might say that just LEGO's actions themselves have pushed the alternatives' popularity further (cue "Streisand effect"). Obviously TLG is losing (German) market shares big enough to make them unhappy - their answer being to send out their lawyers to take care of it (instead of making their own products better or setting affordable prices again, for instance). Now, while the "Brick Wars" are getting more and more intense in Germany, I'v…

With the talk of different thinks that may hurt resellers, which do you think poses the most risk? At what time of course effects this. Obviously 3D printing, for example, won't be causing serious harm in the next 6 months. So shall we say flipping/investing in 2-3 years? Very interested to see your opinions. Personally, I find fake sets/minifigs as very threatening, though at the same time, there are still some it shouldn't effect. The people who will pay nearly 2,000 dollars for the Millennium Falcon? Not going to be buying that, I think. So it should not effect ALL the market, but definitely important.

Apologies if this topic has been discussed previously or elsewhere. I'm starting out in brickvesting and I'm a bit unsure how one should store lego sets to best preserve the box? I live in a mediterannean climate so most of the year is quite dry, but it can be quite damp in June-August. So far I've wrapped sets in a thin plastic with a few sachets of silica in each. Those are then stored in larger boxes, which again have some silica inside. I'm not aiming at building a massive inventory as I'm based in South Africa and our AFOL base is still growing. At the moment I'm just acquiring 2-3 each of the big sets as they go EOL and I'll start selling in two years or so. Due…

I'm not even sure if I will sell these, but I have the following sets that my parents picked up at a flea market 30 years ago. Who knew they invested in Lego long before me. Anyway these are new in box still, of course there is some shelf wear but curious what some of you would price these at. Set 948 - Go-kart Set 955 - Mobile Crane Thanks for your suggestions

I have a few of each and someone is asking to trade their Bespin Duel for one of my Nebulon. Currently it looks like both sets run ~$80 on Ebay, but it seems like Bespin Duel has had more opportunities to purchase, making it a little easier to get, and potentially won't see as much of a % increase over time vs the Nebulon? Is that fair logic? I'm thinking I will decline the request.. Thoughts?

Hi Guys Sorry I am not sure if there is a thread already but I recently started selling my Lego on ebay and I am charging people sales tax on new sets. Looking at other sellers they don't seem to be charging sales tax on sales , is there an option to turn it off? I don't quite understand if I need to charge for it? I would have paid it when I bought it do I need to charge when I sell it? Thank you Stu

I thought it might be fun to see what peoples predictions are on which sets may be discounted on Lego's Black Friday event this year. Of the so called exclusives possible candidates imo are as follows: 30 percent off each Saturn V (maybe a repeat of last year) Treehouse Flintstones Disney Train and Station (maybe a repeat of last year) Tantive IV Vestas Wind Turbine Roller Coaster - I really have a feeling that this will be in. I would love to hear everyone else's predictions.

Hi everyone, So I am by no means a large seller, only Ebay and BrickLink, but with my current numbers this year I am thinking I will break 20k in PayPal for the first time and therefore get a 1099 from PayPal. This leads me to some questions about how that is calculated and about charging tax that I am hoping some Veteran's can help me with! 1) When PayPal tallies up this gross 20k and decides if you get a 1099 or not, are they tallying totals with or without their fee? Also same question with that automated eBay tax that is charged. I see PayPal's fee & Ebay's automated tax immediately deducted on each transaction so I assume what is left of gross inco…

Hi there. I’m to the site, and excited to be a part of the community. I just bought a Tantive IV on eBay the box was badly banged up. Also, the white section at the bottom of the box with the age and piece count is a sticker, that seems to be stuck on at an angle... Is this normal?? See picture attached. Seems sloppy to me and is this a counterfeit or perhaps non-US version of the set? Thanks for the feedback! Jason

So the prevalence of Pre-Orders have kinda shy-rocketed, it seems...I'm throwing this poll out there to see how folks think about them. Sharing a bit on my end...I think I participated in almost every pre-order this past year on LEGOs and some collectibles and let me say...not a single one panned out w/ the scarcity I was expecting...some are still TBD. I think the hook for me (other than FOMO) is thinking I would have more money available later than now...and its always been opposite 😬

Targeted more to you heavy hitters, Does anyone suggest an App/Tool/Suite for inventory tracking? Something you can use your cell phone or a tablet or a Bluetooth barcode scanner to scan items and automatically have them entered into a program or spreadsheet or database of any sort? Obviously, some customisability would be nice - I'd like to be able to enter cost paid, date purchased, etc. I've seen some stuff to relatively easily scan and import things into Excel, but I was wondering if anyone strongly suggested a particular way to go about this. I am trying to improve my methods. Any input appreciated.
