Minifigures

The Lego® world of minifigures is a fascinating thing. Do you collect them?

  1. Hi, I am in the process of trying to improve the Lego Minifigure Display frames that I sell online. I would like to know what you - the Lego Minifigure Collectors - want in a Minifigure Display. I have created a short On-line survey that can be found at https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1PFWb6NRaYDk01H_Wo4dubeq7F2oXsC1VyJHyjmSSqgc/viewform?usp=send_form if you would be kind enough to take (less than) 5 minutes to fill out this form and submit it I would appreciate it. Hopefully I can create the kind of display that the community desires and offer it at a decent price. Your feedback is welcomed. Many thanks Halamalagarli

I recently had a problem with my Brickfolio where my minifigures had disappeared from my brickfolio. Well thank goodness they are back. YaY! My next question is when are values going to be placed on; 71009, 71010? I am very curious as to how much if any the values have come up or down. I also would like to know how you come about placing values on Lego sets. My assumption is you take an average of what the set is going for on E-Bay, Amazon, etc. Is there some way I can calculate the value myself? Am I just being impatient and need to give it more time? An explanation would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, the minifig collector. I am approaching 900 minifigures as of t…

  3. Well at least this confirms two characters for the second series of Simpsons minifigures. I have no idea where the dog will end up unless there really will be a second set of the Kwik-E-Mart or perhaps he will get stuck beside one of the other fourteen possible characters. Please note these are works-in-progress. Source: The Brick Fan

    Started by Guest,

So, I'm very new to the collector thing - hello everyone but the way. My mum is moving house and she cam across a box of my old lego - now this stuff is about 40 years old, so there's very little here that isn't standard block stuff. However, I did find these figures - the small ones (with the exception of one) predate the moveable arms and feet style. I think they would have been round 1976, though someone could clear that up for me. As you can see, they're not in the best of condition, though could be cleaned up. So I was wondering if there is any value to these or should I just let my kids play with them?

  7. At first I started collecting lego sets, then I started collecting collectable minifigures. After that I was able to make a great deal in getting a lot of star wars minifigures (not that I am a huge star wars fan but the opportunity came along). Then I began collecting super heroes and other theme based minifigures. I find it difficult now that i have a rather large collection to complete my collection. I try to find them second hand to be affordable but then a lot of the tiimes they are not complete or just wrong. So i use bricklink a lot. But what i do not understand is how sellers have 50 or 100 unique minifigures only to be found in one set. You do need to buy a set …

  8. Hi ! I'm very interested in series 14 CMF. I'm thinking of buyin a box of 60 to get them all and resell others 44 on eBay. Is it possible to make profit or at least do this at zero cost ? Considering taxes (15%) and shipping fee, I would need to sell my minifigures average 8,50$ each (including shipping). Is it possible to get this ? In the past series, did some of you make profit by this way ?

  9. I'm aware that there are ways to identify your minifigures without opening them, though I'm yet to do so with any reliable success rate (a bump code informed me that my lego series 2 bag was a krabapple, but the slingshot i felt inside said otherwise...). But my question is should I be fussy about not opening the bags? Is it that big of a deal? I'm prepared to leave them sealed but if it makes no difference I'd like to open my spoils! Thanks for any input Brick.

  11. Released in the UK as an exclusive set of characters for the 2012 London Olympic Games. While not offically part of the main line but more like a sideset if you wish and had nine different characters compared to the standard sixteen, they still used the big box of 60's filled with mystery bags and had the "Minifigures" name across the label. I figured since we covered the other series' it would be rude to not hold a poll for these guys as well. We do have a lot of members living on the other side of the pond, so why not? Who is your favorite Minifigure from Olympic Team GB? Brawny Boxer Stealth Swimmer Relay Runner …

  12. So I a really into Lego sets - not really bulk and minifigs (although I do like a lot of theme). I don't mix things together either because I am weird. Anyway, I have seen minifigs go for crazy amounts on Ebay, Mr. Gold obviously. So my question is this: What is the most you would pay for a minifig - to keep and display forever - if it was the rarest of all time (and would stay the rarest)? Obviously staying within your means. I don't think I could shell out more than $100 for something that small. I am just curious how how many people are that into Minifigs.

  13. here's a quick little unboxing and review video of the "hard to find" (not anymore) ELECTRO minifigure polybag found at TRU. according to the Orc King's original post, this i guess, was a free give away at a virginia toyfest however, i was told by a manager at TRU that they got them as free giveaways for anyone purchasing the spider man 2 movie.... which no one bought because no one buys movies anymore.... well whatever reason it was created... check it out here ;-) hope you like my vid! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Te9_8MkRYKc

  14. Started by maestro,

To buy a single Minifigure here in Ireland is $3.90 (€3.49). How high in price do you think the Simpsons Minifigures Series 1 figures will reach if I buy a box?

  15. Started by stackables,

i completed a trade for the series 9 chicken suit guy and much to my surprise the figured that arrived has black hips instead of white. The trader said that is how he came out of the package. Is this possible? Anyone hear of a variation of the figure?

  16. Started by Ryount,

Hello, I'm wondering how I would go about purchasing minifigures in bulk quantities. Is anyone aware of a website/store where I could do this? I'm looking for sealed boxes of minifigs. Thanks

  17. 've just bought a pristine 7237 Police Station for my Grandsons but as is to be expected for a set of this age the battery in the Light-Up Policeman (973cx6) is flat. I fear I may already know the answer to this but here goes anyway. Is there a way to open up the minifigure without damaging it to replace the battery? If so what battery does it take & where (UK) would I get one from? I'd appreciate any help or advice. Thank you.

  18. Started by schmidtywerben,

I'm not sure if anyone's really familiar with the store Learning Express, but I've started to notice that they offer Minifigure trading about every month or so. Since I've been heavy in collecting Minifigs, I've thought about going, but haven't been yet. Has anyone heard of this? Or even been to one? If so, what's like or is it even worth it?

  19. Well we have a thread for the second one so might as well create this for the original. Plus I found a little review especially nice for those of us who never found any in store at the time despite the panel hanging on the shelf making mention of it.

  20. Investing in the encyclopedia for the toy solider yes or no?

  21. Here's a random thought. For the first person that is lucky enough to find one of the "Golden Minifigures", what do you think they will list it on eBay for? (Let's just assume he/she did for the fun of it.) How about.... Here's the list of Mr Gold's that have appeared so far (that I know of). 796 - Zellingen, Germany 865 - Karlsruhe, Germany 870 - Karlsruhe, Germany 880 - Karlsruhe, Germany 898 - Burke, Virginia 933 - Karlsruhe, Germany 934 - Karlsruhe, Germany 942 - Karlsruhe, Germany 1229 - Germany 1331 - Belgium, Europe 1604 - agp548 from Hawaii, USA 1849 - Graz, Austria 3160 - Benzo on Brickset from Saskatchewan, Canada 3194 - Mos Eisley from Fulle…

  22. Started by stackables,

I just picked up my Ikea Frame and was planning on building the shelves for my figs out of wood. However, I just saw this video: The builder doesn't give instruction on how the shelves are built or how many pieces he used but I was planning on attempting this. Anyone got a guess on how many and what pieces are used? Or a guess on how the shelves were built? Looks like he uses 2x6 plates, 1x6 plates, 2x2 plates, 1x2 plates and 1x2 clear bricks. I think this display would give me more flexibility than the wooden shelves.

  23. Started by stackables,

Probably another stupid question but I am in the process of getting the Light up Mace Windu missing his purple light saber. Bricklink treats the figure as a whole without inventorying him. Is the trans purple light saber blade unique to the figure or is it the same as the rest of the purple light sabers?

  24. Started by stackables,

I just got an original robin and his cape is dirty and not as vibrant. Would soap and water do the job or would that cause the cape to fray? Anyone have any other good suggestions for cleaning capes? Normally, I would just buy a new one but yellow capes a very scarce.
