Minifigures
The Lego® world of minifigures is a fascinating thing. Do you collect them?

I know it's not a licensed LEGO product, so I understand if a lot of folks don't like that.. because I usually shy away from anything not made by lego myself. Custom minifigs online have always bothered me. But I just came across this guy on Etsy who sells pewter minifigs.. and not just the standard but stormtroopers, boba fetts, ninja turtles, and 24 karat gold c-3pos. My eyes are on the standard, here's a pic: They're a little expensive at $60, and he says they shouldn't be really played with a lot because pewter is soft and will wear out, causing the head to get a little loose. Despite all these shortcomings, I'm still really intrigued by the idea of a s…

Saw some series 7 & 8 bags at Target tonight. Just now entering the minifigure series collecting. Love medieval themed figures but I like to buy a few of the others that do well on ebay to pay for the figures I keep for myself. Are there any series 7 & 8 (or even 9) that people are already paying more for on ebay.

I got myself a series 8 box. I assumed it was gonna be sealed, but it isn't. So keeping it sealed isn't exactly an option. I haven't verified whether there are actually 3 full sets in the box but for argument's sake let's assume the box hasn't been tampered with. So what do you think would be the most profitable strategy? I could try and identify the different minifigs, make 3 full sets and have 12 bags left. Would it be idle hope to think that a full set would sell for more than 16 random sealed bags? Should I open the bags to identify the minifigs? I assume that if I want to sell a full set potential buyers would want to make sure it actually *is* a fu…

I read some articles on Lego faces and how they have become angrier because Lego started making a variety of different faces. (They used to only have a normal smiley face for all minifigures.) The researcher claims it is affecting children and how they play. He also goes to suggest the increase in conflicts, (Good v.s. bad.), is concerning. Personally I grew up with mostly Castle and Star Wars sets and I never really paid much attention to their faces to see if they were positive or not. As a kid you don't really care because all you really care about is having fun "playing" with them. Here is a quote from the TVNZ article. Is Lego's positive reputation bei…

I personally think Hulk is the best because of his classic design (and the fact that he never drops below $19.) Wanna hear a joke...? Jun-Chi. He's worth $1.09!

I have the opportunity to buy from a local seller a good amount of sealed bags of CMF Series 2 and sealed bags of CMF Series 3 (way more 2 than 3). The guy used to run a store and said he overbought. After closing his store, he said he found some in his back inventory. He wanted $4.00 a pack, but after some negotiating, he is willing to come down on the price if I take enough or take the lot. What's a fair offer that would get me some nice profits? Is $4.00 a bag already a steal because of the limited run nature of Series 2?

Here is a great article I found on the "Greatest Lego Collectible Minifigures" written by Kevin Guhl on the site, Topless Robot. What's your favorite?

Well, looks like we've got another exclusive figure coming up! A Last Alliance variant of Elrond is apparently being released with a "Special Edition" of the Lego Lord of the Rings game. Link, with PICTURE, here: http://www.lordofthebrick.com/2012/08/elrond-avec-le-jeu-video-lego-lord-of-the-rings-special-edition/ Looks pretty sweet! I'll have to get my hands on it. Does anyone care to predict the price this minifig will go for on the aftermarket?

I have been collecting and trading Lego minifigures for years and have 276 Star Wars Lego figs and a scattering of figs from other themes. Only about 90 of my figs came in new sets, which means the other two hunded are pure profits! I'm 15 and mostly trade with younger kids I know, which makes it easier to pull a profit. I was just wondering how wide spread this thing is outside of the little kids who trade Collectible Minifigures and do that stupid Ninijago gambling.

This theme has been running for three years now, and there have already been multiple remakes of different figures. I love the theme as much as anyone, but how much longer can the theme stay fresh and survive.

First off, the character is just awesome topped with superb awesome sauce made from pure grade awesomeness. But what the heck is with the red plume? Why is it sideways? I've never seen it that way before; it's usually always facing forward like the one in the second picture. The best I could find for an answer seems to be there is a unit type in the Roman militia called a Roman Centurian and they have their plume sideways like so in the third image. It still confuses me though and those Roman Centurians are rare in the field as far as I can tell. If you're like me, I put the plume on my Roman Commander sideways or the 'usual' way. Here's a list of Roman Army t…

Grolim reminded me of this idea that has been sitting on the backburner for a little while. Basically this poll is for the highest voted characters from Series 1-9, a "favorite of the favorites" as it were. If you wish, leave a reply for who is your all-time favorite character of all the Minifigures. Here's a link to The Complete List. You will find quick links to every single poll created for each of the Series'. Note: Olympic Team GB is not part of the Poll. It was not an official Series but a UK exclusive for the 2012 London Games. Two of the polls had two characters tied for first place causing me to randomly pick only one.

So, now that we know most store employers such as TRU have the benefit of smooshing minifigure bags and getting the one they want before putting them out for people to buy, just how trustworthy is Lego LEGO Shop at Home? I mean, would Lego employers actually feel the minifigure bags before putting them in the shipping box in order to find a Mr. Gold, then replace the bag with something else?

I can get multiiple Sealed Boxes of CMF for Series 4,5,6,7,9 and 10 for 103-112 EUR each. Should I jump on it? And if yes, which, because I don't have unlimited supply of cash? EDIT: Postage would be probably about 5-10 EUR/Box.

Toward the end of March I had a sudden unexplainable desire to revisit one of my favorite childhood toys: the Lego mini-figure. I figured I would start a new collection of minifigures. They have a really great collectability to them because there are so many different varieties of them. I can get almost every cool fictional character as a lego person, I can create people I know, I can recreate movie scenes. But what was most important to me was that I would be able to display them. I pictured them in all types of display cases that would way overstate the value of the little plastic figure inside. I've always enjoyed how Legos seem to be a parody of themselves, s…

Just read this article earlier about a new kickstarter project called Project Swapfig. It's another idea for a minifigure trading website but this one is built from the ground up by real Lego fan enthusiast, Drew Maughan aka SilentMode, the amount for the pledge is not that ridiculousy high, and there are some real screenshots of what the site will look like. Here's the article on Brickset. And the kickstarter page. Edit: Although the kickstarter project did not reach it's goal of

Lego Online is offering a free CMS poster with a purchase of 5 or more CMS figures. The Brick Blogger first reported this here. It includes all minifigures from Series 1-10 including Mr. Gold. Attached is a picture of the poster.

I saw comicblasts poster post, and decided to share this. For a while, I've been using pictures of all of the CM's to date as a computer wallpaper. I just saved all of the pictures off of the Brickset page, and set them on a ten second shuffle. It's cool because you can refresh you're memory off all of the CM's. Just an idea. :smirk:
