  1. Someone recommended their new favorite LEGO youtube channel (Emmasaurus) on another thread. Thought why not start a place so that others can share their faves with others, discover new ones, and/or chat about it all? Please consider that eventually that the faces behind these channels and websites are people with feelings. AND they may eventually stumble upon this thread AND we all have varying opinions and expectations of such channels and websites. Some search for reviews, others for investment discussions, for moc ideas, etc. I'll kick it off by saying that Emmasaurus is NOT my fave BUT her videos are positive and better than most I've seen. …

How do you MOC? I'm curious where the best place to start is. I know some use digital designers, but I could never get the hang of it. I'm a very hands on type of person, but I don't really know the fastest/cheapest/best way to get a bunch of new bricks to experiment with. Rebrickable likes to point out that you can build a lot from GBHQ, but that's a bit higher than my price point for dabbling. Any ideas?

My 4yo built 41115 Emma's Creative Workshop. She loves it, and I have to say the little printed post it notes are super cool! Friends sets get some cool tiny printed pieces that seem like they would be stickers in any other series.

Hey fellow Brickpickers! I'm a huge fan of the "Building LEGO" part of this forum and topics I frequently visit and stay up to date to are the MOC Highlights, Rebuilding the Classics, etc. As for me I am still more of a humble builder but ever since I restarted this hobby I felt this urge to create something on my own or modify LEGO Sets. What this forum always lacked (for me at least) has been a thread where people share their own creations and modifications. Until now these things ended up in the topic "What did you build today" or in other random threads. I'd like to invite you all to share your humble, awesome, small, big, crazy, etc. creations and modification…

There are MOCs utilizing whatever pieces at hand to create something unique and then there are alternates using only the parts included from a set to build something else. This thread (I have wanted to start for a while now) is meant to showcase such designs to help inspire your own well as display what can be done within such limited means. Anyway here are a few to get started. 31007 - Racing Car by Peteris Sprogis 70808 - Super Secret Police Spaceship by msx_80 Mobile Frame Zero - 41524, 41525, 41526 by dark_syntax 6866 Wolfsbane by JK Brickworks 31003 Robot by Biczzz 31006 F1 Racer by Biczzz 6913 Speedster by Vinny Turbo 483…

  6. I have been researching on lego building techniques and I found this guide The Unofficial LEGO Advanced Building Techniques Guide http://photos.freelug.org/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=33732 I'd like to know more places where I can find information on building techniques, such as videos, books, tutorials, and more. Thanks.

  7. Inspired after reading siddji's topic of Best Site for MOC Modular step by step creations?, I thought it would be a good idea to have a topic listing some great resources to not only help anyone wanting to design their own modular style houses but also inspire a few ideas as well. Anyway, I came across this simple guide from Eurobricks listing the basics of how to generally get started. Resources: Eurobricks Brickhamster

This thread is basically meant as a way to keep track of LEGO's own free CAD program called Digital Designer (LDD for short) and all the other kinds of digital software used for building models digitally. Whenever there is an update on LDraw for example, I shall make a note here to bring attention to the news. Feel free to ask any question you may have in regards to each bit of software. Found an intriguing design or a build that pleasantly catches your attention? Then by all means please feel free to post any MOC you find on the net and would like to share with your fellow members here. If you are talented yourself in the way of MOCs then how about you show it off for everyone to see!

Two of our more popular threads are "What LEGO set(s) did you buy today?" and "What LEGO set(s) did you sell today?" These threads are filled with great information. But we all know LEGO bricks are about "building" LEGO sets and models, so why shouldn't we talk about it on this site as well? I mean, many LEGO sets that are fantastic builds are also investment winners, so why shouldn't people share some of their experiences of build and set quality that might affect LEGO set values, either positively or negatively? Let us know what you built today and your overall thoughts on the set. Don't forget to leave more in depth reviews in our LEGO SET REVIEWS section...

  11. I want to know how everyone showcases their person Lego display at home. http://www.tumblr.com/blog/hreed1985 Right now mine is worthless. However I have some mini figures coming in and my collection is always growing so toss me some ideas!

This is my first build that I will share with you! The M:Tron Mining Base! The Story The mine supplies the galaxy with all the Brickonium found in these mountains. The base has operated for quite some time now without any Blacktron interference. The Classic Space Command Center has sent a Galaxy Explorer to check up and make sure everything is running smoothly. The magnetic crane is loading the freighter with the precious crystal, as the satellite towers control air flight and help the freighters leave the atmosphere safely. The Build The build took me about 25 to 30 hours to complete over the course of 10 to 12 days. I had a blast! The mountain scape was slightly diffic…

To think I was born around the middle of this line's run, and by the time I would have been old enough to start it quietly retires. Imagine an original theme running for a good decade before heading off into the sunset. Also imagine being limited to three colors of red, blue, & yellow for a build with the occasional white and green for accents or foliage.

  16. So I'm about to finally start building out my lego city and I just realized that SAH has limits on the train tracks and road plates... I guess the expectation is that you need to get more at a physical location or another retailer. Seems odd to me, but what do I know... either way it got me thinking if there are cheaper ways of getting these items outside of the traditional boxed items at a 20% discount or so? Is pick-a-brick route a viable/cheaper way, other options? Before I invest too much time and $ in this stuff figured I'd check what others have experienced... thx!

  17. I’ve been working on the new AT-AT and I’ve got an issue that I just can’t figure out. On step 111 it acts like I should just be able to push the belly down onto the frame but when I put the belly in place it just sits there. It’s so loose if I turned the frame over it would just fall right out. I can’t see anything in the manual or on the frame that should hold the belly in place. If you can help I would really appreciate it, this is driving me nuts

Ok, it is the holiday lull... unless you chose to ship FBM this year! So, a diversion is in order. I have been planning on building a city for a while, and it is nearly time. To be honest, I resell lego just to fund my lego city account. Our basement is almost done, (I will start building new lego tables in January) and I have an area, not as large as I would like, but much bigger than nothing! So I am building a tiered city, using Eureka Springs, Arkansas as my inspiration It. It is built into the side of an Ozark Mountain, and it very "tiered". I would love to see all of your layouts for inspiration, so post them below! I will try to update my progres…

A few years ago I picked up video games again and, while catching up, a couple of my favorites (Uncharted 2 & Far Cry 4) took place in South Asia. It inspired me to create a couple of smaller vehicles, which in turn led me to creating this entire project: Here's the full flickr gallery if you want to see more - as well as the link to the project in Ideas, if you're interested in adding your support: https://www.flickr.com/photos/142667034@N04/with/49940857112/ https://ideas.lego.com/projects/f9009263-d502-4284-a0e7-be215d19972a

  23. I would love to just sit down and build something like I did when I was a kid, but I find myself suffering from blank page syndrome. Even if I go in with a goal in mind, like building a robot or whatever, I just can't get started. Along those lines, any suggestions on making a bin/box/whatever specifically for this sort of free building? I've got tons of Lego bricks, which I've tried to sort by color, but that compounds the difficulty of free building. I'm thinking it would be good to make a mixed box of parts that are explicitly unsorted.
