Hi all, so glad to be here! My husband is a lifelong Lego fan(atic) and over time I've caught the bug from him until I love those sharp little foot-assaulting bricks almost as much as he does. Because I have the soul of a merchant I've been "encouraging" (husbands out there will know that means "nagging") him to do more of his own custom creations and, like all intelligent men, he's realized it's easier just to do what I want. So, he's been creating some fantastic designs, I have found myself in charge of the custom decals (as well as chief purchasing agent and assistant brick sorter) and our first design is about to roll off the table (and under the r…

A quick Hello from Paris! I am, let's say, new in the lego investement world but I've been playing lego for 5/6 years when I was a kid. Then I came to playing video games (wihch I still do) and sold my lego, probably around 5 kilos, for nothing in order to buy some cheap games. At this time I had no idea of the value of our beloved bricks. Trust me, now I regret it ... Anyway, I am back in the lego world and now that I have a job I can buy and choose my sets I have to admit for now I don't really buy sets for investement but more for playing and MOCing. I buy essentially Technics set as I love all the enginieering involved in building them. I also seek good…

Howdy, I am new to Brickpicker but have been around Brickset for awhile and selling Lego on and off again to sustain my addiction. I am from Texas but I work in Cameroon, Africa most of the time so I don't often get to do much building. Favorite themes include Castle, Star Wars, Superheros, and City although I often get sucked into at least one or two sets in just about every theme that gets released. Looking forward to meeting you all and joining the discussions.

Hi everyone, Just wanted to introduce myself. I currently live just outside of Chicago, but I was born and raised in Denmark. I have lived here in the US for 7 years now. I have loved LEGOs since I was a kid and luckily my parents still have all my old sets back in Denmark. They come visit every year and will start bringing my old sets over to me. First up is a LEGO castle from 1984. Looking forward to building that again. My 5 year old started getting into LEGO recently and now it's all he talks about. Good excuse for me to start buying sets again.I took him to Brickworld Chicago in June, and we both loved it. I discovered the worth of old sets w…

Hi all, I'm Dan, a Brit living in France with my family. My young son has recently gotten into Lego which has also prompted my return to building and collecting after many years - 25 to be exact. One of the main reasons for venturing in here was confusion over one particular set... but I'll post elsewhere on that! Since picking my son a set up on vacation in Florida last year, the collection has grown enormously... but the trick is keeping his sticky mitts off of the collection as opposed to the ones he can play with! Still, back at my gparents' house there is a chest full of the stuff I had in my childhood... and next time I'm there I'm going to have to figure out …

Hi everyone, I'm Adam, I'm from the Cleveland area and like the rest of you am a huge fan of Lego. I loved lego as a kid, though my mom threw all of our Lego in the garbage because my brothers and I were a bunch of knuckle heads and let her step on them one too many times. First she hid them in the basement, we found them, left them dumped out on the floor again and she had enough and they disappeared for good. After that tragedy I have fond memories of playing with 6054 Forestmen's Hideout at my neighbors house.along with other sets of the era. Then I had a long dark age until the Star Wars sets, got a few of those but never really had any money to spend in those days. D…

Hi, everyone! Just joined Brickpicker last night, but have been a fan of Lego since I was a kid. Just got back into it last month and have been buying minifigs to play with on ebay haha. I've been doing a lot of reading and I am very intrigued about investing in Lego so I thought I'd give it a go. It's really hard to find great prices in Canada though, and I can't help but be jealous at all the finds our US friends get! I figure if the sets I buy don't go up in price in a few years, I can just open them and play with them myself, so it's a win-win situation, hahah!

Hi all! I'm from the Sacramento area and have been following this site for a few weeks now. I really appreciate all of the great info I have found. I started building a collection for my son and hope that the investing part of this hobby can help fund that. I have enjoyed hunting down deals although my local Target/Walmart seem to be pretty stingy with the clearance items. Hopefully that changes over the next few weeks!

Hi everyone. My name is Daniel. I don't consider myself a LEGO collector; however, I started buying LEGO sets again two years back since I had a son and was thinking of being able to spend time playing LEGO with my son. Just joined BrickPicker to learn more to pick the next set to buy so I can buy it before the set's price increases (and cost me more money to buy). As far as making money off LEGO sets, not really my goal, but if it can be done, then that's even better Anyway, just want to say hi to everyone. Hope to learn from you guys.

HI everyone, just want to introduce myself, I've just recently taken a trip back home, and started playing with my old LEGO collection from when I was a kid. After selling a few random GI Joes to a local comic/toy shop, I inquired about selling my LEGO. He offered me some prices, but I'm sure glad I did some research online, now I'm selling all my old sets, and newer ones I've acquired, on Ebay. Going to make more money, and I get to play with LEGO!! talk about win-win! This is a great site, and really helping me a lot. Thanks everybody!

Hey folks. When I said on Eurobricks a couple of years ago that I was investing in Lego, the replies I got suggested that I was kidding myself ... but I continued buying and holding stuff MISB anyway ... and then I finally found this site the other day - quite the revelation! I'm not sure if it's healthy for me being here, since this site encourages me to spend even more on Lego, under the assumption I will make money from it in the future. I don't know if I'm deluding myself, but the stuff I bought three years ago has indeed gone up in value, so I guess I'll carry on spending and this site will help me pick winners, right? Other stuff: I'm 33, married…

Hi guys, I never officially introduced myself, I just started posting random stuff and questions all of a sudden, so upon recommendation from some other members here, I decided to finally do it. I suppose I have never been in a "Dark Ages" since I am only 13 years old, it is hard not to have Legos somewhere in your life for less more than a couple months. My first sets were simple minibuilds with 2-3 minifigs and some of those Mars Mission and Jack Stone sets. Can't get enough of them! I found Brick Picker only about 2 months ago, right when I read the USA Today article that came to my hotel room door over winter break. When I read it, I was telling everyone tha…

Hi, my name is Sean and as a kid as many of you Lego was my main toy from the ages of about 3-14, I started off with space lego and each Christmas / birthday or treat I would always opt for lego. I had a break from it when I was about 8 - 10 and played with some technic for a while but then got back into space when the M tron sets and also the space police sets came onto the market. Alas it all went into the loft in a box at my parents with the view of handing it down to my kids at some point but that never happened as there was a lack of kids! They recently bought it round to me and I have steadily built around 56 space lego sets over the last few weeks with …

A couple of days ago, I had started a thread which was meant to be a friendly notice for all female members about the optional "Ms. Brick" award (or tag) specially designed for the fairer gender as a way of standing out in a crowd of 'just a bunch of guys'. As I stated, it was not mandatory and no one is trying to discriminate or make anybody feel uncomfortable in any way, shape, or form. The thread was simply meant to be a way of raising your hand and graciously asking for the designated award if you had wanted to. We would never force such a thing on anyone so that was why I took Eurobricks example by starting the thread to begin with. Unfortunately, it had not taken lo…

Greetings All, I'm located in Alaska, USA but will be moving to Utah in a couple of months. I started getting back into Lego about two years ago, inspired by the coming birth of my first child. I started following sets on e-bay and realized that many of them were priced much higher than retail value back when I was a kid. This led me to discover this site and I have decided to invest in sets on sale and retiring sets in order to turn a profit for funding the hobby. It's a realistic objective to sell Lego in order to fund buying new Lego. Right now my portfolio of New and (mostly) used sets has almost reached break even in total asset value - which is pretty cool.…

What's up guys! My names Nick, I've always been into Legos ever since I was a kid. My biggest mistake was selling my cafe corner and my green grocer for 1000 together. But live and learn haha. Anyways I was wondering what Legos to invest in so in the future I can hopefully make some cash! Usually I go for the small sets with good minifigs, I was thinking like the super hero sets with minifigs like venom and doc oct from spider man. I sell on ebay and usually from what I have experienced... the money comes from either big sets like the ultimate collectors Star Wars and lego exclusives like cafe corner and then minifigs. I am really considering the minecraft set? Any sugges…
