I enjoyed playing with Legos as a kid, I'm now 35, and after about a 10 year gap in collecting and building with Legos, I've started to recollect Legos to pass down to my son when he gets older. I have started to collect the train sets, modular buildings, as well as the new city sets. -Ben

Ciao to everybody! My name is Alessandro and I live close to the city of Turin - Piedmont; sorry if I'll made some mistake writing in english.... I'm a Lego fan since I was a child, I have some Lego still stored in boxes (but not the original Lego boxes! ) and I would like to know their value, just to have an idea, I don't wanna sell them because those bricks will be mine forever! I would like to post some pictures (I still have to do them) , can I do that here or in another section? Thank you, ciao ciao!

Hi Thought I was one of a few until I was told about this site. Been collecting a few lego sets including tower bridge, millenium falcon to name a few. I wanted to ask what everyone does about storage? as you can imagine the tower bridge is a fairly big box. I have kept them in a dry dust free room, but was wondering whether i should buy an airtight box just in case? i don't want the box to fade or anything. Thanks all

I found this site through browsing "LEGO communities", and of all I saw this site appealed to me the most. I have been playng with LEGO's since I was 3, but only played with the cheapo baby LEGO blocks. I now am interested in building actual things, and collecting. What are some great sets I could get for ~$20? I have always loved LEGO's. I'm now 15, just turned and want to keep it as a hobby. Also what is this talk about investing LEGO's? Can someone explain to me about this part, please? Also I play a game called Blockland which is awesome where you build stuff with LEGO's.

Hello, registered today. I played a lot with LEgo when I was a kid and I have very good memories. Now I'm forty and interested in Lego again, especially the special models like the tower bridge. I hope to find some information about investing in LEgo (rare) models. Any tips are welcome. Of course I'm gonna check the forums. Greetings Martin

Where to start... I just recently rediscovered my love for Legos. Growing up I've always had some form of lego sets. Back in the early 2000s was my hayday in lego building. I had an original UCS Rebel Blockade Runner, X-Wing fighter, and Imperial Star Destroyer. Every set had it's original box and instruction set. Then I joined the Air Force and forgot all about them. My mom called me up a few years later asking what she wanted me to do with them all. I said just give them away. Oh how little did I know then... Flash forward to a couple of weeks ago, and I'm in Salt Lake City and noticed a new Lego store. Oh boy!!! What excitement that was. …

Today I took a leap of absurd faith and stopped my monthly mutual-fund automatic investment and bought some legos, after reading all day. I loved these things when I was young, now I have 35 sets and 16k pieces. Woohoo

Hi Everyone! I've been reading a few topics on this forum, and decided to join. I've been buying and storing Lego as an investment for about 3 years now. I convinced my wife it was better than earning 2% interest at the bank, so we started with a few thousand dollars, and have built up a fair investment. I started with 3 each of the modular buildings (should have just bought all Green Grocers, but oh well). I'm also a serious collector and hobby builder, so investment buying fits right in. We are members of the Manitoba Lego User's Group (MBLUG), and we're part of the annual displays that they do. I always only buy Lego that interests me 100% ju…

Joined awhile back but finally getting my boots on reading articles and forum discussions. Legos have become the answer to my mid-life crisis... LOL. Cheaper than a brand new sports car or boat! Having fun building and investing at the same time.

Hello everyone, I am new to the site (and pretty much new to Lego). I am a stay at home mom to 2 children and several years ago I started shopping clearance and buying/selling items. I bought everything from clothes, electronics, toys, etc. After a while I realized that Lego sets were really the way to go so I started somewhat focusing on that. I stopped for a year after I had my 2nd child and now I want to get back into it but put most of my focus on investing in Lego sets. I do not personally build or collect so I do not have much knowledge on what may be popular or good investments. When I started buying them a few years ago I was under the impression th…

First time posting, long time lurker (almost a year). Moderately committed investor. Occasional builder. Happy to be here! I spent many years away from Lego and was inspired to get involved again when I received a Lego advent calendar for the holidays a few years ago from my longtime girlfriend. My favorite themes/lines include Winter Village, City, Creator (the houses), Modulars, Technic, and some licensed themes. I'm looking forward to increasing my involvement here so I can expand my own knowledge. Cory

I'm an AFOL who has recently come out of the 'dark ages' over the past year. I was a huge Lego nut when I was a kid in the 80's, most of my vintage collection consists of Classic Space, Futuron, Blacktron 1, 80's castle sets, and the first wave of Pirates in '89. I recently got married, and now have 2 step kids (and a newborn!). I bought my step son a Lego set as a Christmas present, and when I built it with him I got bit by the Lego bug myself. I feel fortunate that I came out of my dark age when I did. I was able to pick up most of the Kingdoms line, which I think is spectaluar, along with the Medieval Market Village, Lord of the Rings/Hobbit, and the Winter Vill…

Hi, I am new to the world of collecting Legos , I must confess that I stumbled into it by accident. We went shopping to Laredo Texas, about a two hour drive from home, and one of the last stops before we go back is Wal-Mart, so I was doing nothing in particular, just waiting for my wife to spend the last pesos remaining on my debit card after her crazed shopping spree, and I was walking by the toy section of the store and there they were a whole aisle of Legos, perfectly aligned and I could care less about them but something cached my eye, I saw red labels on them, so I approached slowly towards a 9493 X-Wing Fighter, and the red label read 35.00 USD, I guess I …

Good evening, I *think* I came across Brick Picker through The Brothers Brick, or maybe a link off a link off a link on Youtube. Either way, it immediately caught my attention as an investment strategy. About seven years ago I became an AFOL, built some MOCs and then ran out of time. I also realized for my creative purposes that modelling in foam was more my thing. But, now I'm stuck with about $10K in Lego to liquidate. The speculation part of this Lego investing fits with my current outlook on investing. I follow Casey Research and speculate on physical assets like gold and silver. ABS plastic bricks is no different and a hard asset that I can own…

Hi everyone! To be honest, I've registered as a member a few days ago but I was really hooked on all the great blogs and other forum topics in my quest to identify my first investment/ display set I've been buying lots of Duplo series for my daughter (age 5) and now i can start venturing into other series Sadly, prices of the sets here are much higher compared to other regions... After reading almost all the forum posts, I plan to start with one of the following: 10225 R2-D2 7965 Falcon Also will aim to get the complete Series 11 minifig Anyway, just wanted to say "Hi!" to all and "Thank you!" to this excellent site creators and b…
