Hi, I'm new to Brickpicker. Obviously as a kid I really enjoyed Lego and have recently rediscovered the joy of Lego! I've been buying sets to both building and as future investments. I'm currently building the Lego Creator buildings - so far I've bought/built the Cinema, Fire Station and I'm currently on the Grand Emporium. Any tips on investing? I noticed the Cafe Creator Building is currently going for

I have some lego sets, mainly from when I was a kid. I collect a bunch of different types of toys, like Star Wars, Plastic Toy Soldiers and Playmobil. I would like to start collecting the Viking themed lego sets.

Hi I'm from Guernsey in the Channel Islands and have got a lot of Lego from when I was younger. I'm 25 now and have just bought a flat with a nice sized loft and wanted to start collecting something that might be worth something in a few years. I'm going to start by looking for a Lego Technic Unimog 8110 and go from there. I'm going to look in local shops for one in very good condition. After that I'll see what else I can get

Hi, my name is Michelle, 41 female from Ohio, and this is my first post on any forum ever. I've loved Lego as long as I can remember. I have been on here since Sept. reading everything and really enjoying it, I'm on here everyday. Jeff, Ed thank you for doing this for all of us this site is so great and helpful. My love of Lego started with my brothers who were over a decade older than me, the old red and white Lego they had from the 60s became mine in the 70s. My Mom started buying me Lego sets in 1980, one of the first one's being 6390 Main Street one of my all time favorites. I played with Lego till I was probably fifteen, I never wanted to give up Lego it just happen…

  6. Hey Folks, I am 38, getting back into legos now that my son is 4. Used to play them when I was younger, but mom gave them all away when I grew out of them. Started getting a few small sets for my son, and he is in love with the super hero series, and monster fighters. I got into investing--sort of---while at the Burlington mall shopping where I live in MA. It was hard to track down a Jokers fun house set--had to go to 3 different lego stores. Guy in Burlington who had held one for me, told me they were flying off the shelves, and would go up in value when they weren't for sale any longer. Started talking to him about a few sets I wanted myself, but we…

Sup... I'm one of the younger people on this site (11!) and I have recently entered my "dark age" early and just emerged from it when I decided to walk into a LEGO store for the heck of it. I got a Star Wars Rebel Trooper and Imperial Trooper battle pack. It followed by the purchase of more LEGO sets. And more. I just recently purchase the 10188 Death Star myself after recieving enough birthday money. Now I own a small but still nice collection of LEGOs mostly consisting of Star Wars and some Creator, Technic, and Galaxy Squad sets are intended to join the mix eventually.

Hi everyone! I'm a Belgian AFOL temporarily living in France but I will be moving back to Belgium in a few weeks... Back to the country without any Lego brand store! Ahh! I came out of my dark ages about two years ago. I'm a LEGO fan in the first place, but I've already bought and resold several sets (both MISB and used) with a nice profit. I love how this Lego hobby often pays for itself. :-) Now that I'm moving back to Belgium, I will get my storage space back, so I'm planning to invest a little more in the near future. Looking forward to talking to everyone here along the way! PS: I'm actually a female Lego investor, which seems to be a bit of a rarity around …

Hey everyone, I'm a long time LEGO addict, mainly into Technic and Mindstorms, lately also classic brick building. I come from Slovenia and I'm currently a student. I bought my UCS Falcon couple of years ago and I saw how the prices had risen since it went EOL. Even though I don't want to sell it, I decied to invest some cash into other sets, to fund my MOCing hobby. Soon, I found Brickpicker.com. The rest, as they say, is history :D

Hi My family brought a newspaper article about this site during their Christmas visit and wanted to know if I still I had my old legos. I have them in a large rubbermaid out in the garage. I guess I should go through it and see what sets I have, I figured they would have value but who would have imagined that that large X-Wing set I bought in 1999 or 2000 would be so valuable even after opened, assembled and displayed. I am a casual collector that bought up SW sets back around '99 and '00 then stopped due to the War on Terror. Now that things are winding down I have re-looked my many collections and trying to figure out values. I have collected toys since I was a ki…

and found this amazing board. I'm from MA/NH area and now an AFOL. Have not even got my old sets from when I was a child yet but am excited to explore those and see what I have left. That's this weekend. I am looking forward to building some great sets and displays and hopefully make a little money on the side. ( I already run a slow but steady growing ebay business.) Just browsing this forum I have noticed a lot of bright individuals here and am amazed at the overall knowledge.

Hi everyone. Im a 24 year old dane, who live near Billund where Lego originated. Ive worked at Lego a few years back, and was employed in 2008 at their 50th anniversary. Back then, when working for lego, you got some privileges at buying some thing before others. So, I have this book: "LEGO Collector's Guide - Premium Edition" art.number: 810004, still mint in box, never been opened. Im thinking of selling it, but I can't seem to find any information of how much its worth. Ive looked at local online auctions, ebay etc. but can't find it anywhere.

So I have recently come across this Site and am thrilled to have found it. I was an avid Lego collector and builder as a kid but unfortunately much of them have been sold or gotten rid of. So I am looking to get back into it and was wondering what the best thing to do is. I feel that all the sets on the "sets to be retired" would be a great place to start? Any advice would be great!

Hello everyone. Im new to Lego investing and I just stumbled on this very interesting and informative website. I never knew that a site existed that was all about Lego investing, complete with graphs, values etc. just like watching the stock market. Here in Hawaii Lego prices are above the MSRP just like everything else. So finding good deals, including clearance items are very hard. Finding Lego sets are also hard to find. I did manage to get these to start my Lego investing today. Im not going to go heavy on this investing thing. Just a little here and there. Let me know what you guys think of these buys... These were bought at Walmart clearance: MF T…

Hi All, I recently got the Tower Bridge for Christmas and since have been on a LEGO buying and building spree. It's really amazing how much bigger these sets have gotten since my childhood, and it is so cool that there are LOTR sets! Does anyone here open their sets and build them with the intention of flipping them in a few years?

New guy brought here by the EOL rumors of Jabba's Palace. I loved Legos as a kid and have picked up small sets here and there for the minifigs (mostly SW). The past month I jumped in pretty hardcore picking up the Palace and of course needed the Rancor pit and skiff to match! haha! I also picked up a B-Wing on the 4th and have come across some of the Monster sets on clearance which I quickly added being a fan of the old school monster movies. Looking forward to learning a lot and enjoying this hobby AND hopefully making good investments. Thanks!
