I come from a background of collecting, just a different type. From the early 80's through the mid 90's, baseball cards were my drug of choice. I loved the chase for the hot rookie card, looking for the next Mickey Mantle. Of course, growing up, Legos were also a big part of my life. Big to the point of getting for gifts what my parents could afford. Big sets were always too expensive, so I was used to building and rebuilding new space ships with my own imagination. Forward to 30 years later, and I now have some disposable income, and still have a thing for Legos. I have found myself buying discounted sets and liking them too much to sell them. (Not a great investme…

Hello! I'm Kaylee (BrickBabe) and I have just started my LEGO investing adventure! I am (unfortunately ) ExoBro's girlfriend. After seeing him get reacquainted with LEGO and hearing about what he is doing with them, I decided to get in on this scene. We've been working together to hit up different stores and find good deals. Over the last week while he has been at work I've been stopping at the LEGO store every morning to see if they had any BTTF or Crawler sets. We've been able to get a bunch of BTTF sets. I guess I was lucky because my collection started with the Arkham Asylum set when it was on sale at Amazon. I look forward to posting here and getting to know you guy…

First time to join a forum but I have too much fun with lego not to. My kids and I regularly walk to cruise the shops. Our term for the lego sections at TRU & Walmart. We used to have Zellers but now there's Target (haven't tried to add that to the loop yet). Just starting with the investing bit. Stated with the 9476 & 9473. They seem to be well liked, any thoughts? Have to justify 8 sets to my wife;)

Everyone seems to be introducing themselves lately and I never did, so my story, as concise as I can make it, is... I'm from chicago, the northern surburbs and have always loved lego, I used to have tons of sets, many large (star destroyer, statue of liberty, eiffel tower, lego man, darth maul head, etc.) One day I realized they were taking up too much room and I was going to college, so I sold them...this was my first ebay encounter. I realized I could make more money than I paid for legos (this was right after lego exploded a few years ago), I do love money, so I started searching craigslist for other people's legos and selling them. then I realized sealed s…

I have delayed saying hello to everyone, but here it is. Hello to all Brickpicker members. My name is Martin. I joined the site in April and it is really run to be on. I am a avid Lego collector/investor in many themes. My favorite is the Star Wars UCS. I live in the USA and the Lego collecting/investing market here is great. If you all could, can you give me some investing tips and or ideas about investing in Lego Star Wars.

I know I have posted a few times in various topics...just finally decided that I need to introduce myself. Not much to say really. I am just an average 20 something American AFOL fresh out of his dark ages. I like collecting vintage Space sets (M:Tron, Blacktron etc etc). Found this great site and became more and more intrigued with the investing side of the LEGO addiction. So far my Brickfolio is very modest, about 10 new sets. I did manage to pick up a couple vintage lots off craigslist, with a ton of mostly complete sets (including a 6086 Black Knight's Castle ). Have been cleaning them up and hopefully will start selling in the next couple months. Pr…

Hello everyone! I've been lurking around here for some months now, gaining huge amounts of information while getting my brickfolio off of the ground. I thought it was only fair that I show up and introduce myself. For the record, my name is Steven. I just thought Stuntman Mike was a cool character from "Death Proof." How did I end up here? It was a culmination of three things, or more importantly, three sets: 1) 497 - Galaxy Explorer: I was nine or ten when the Classic Space theme first rolled out. I had the old Coast Guard Station (575) but Space was the first time I'd seen minifigures with movable arms and legs! I had the Space Shuttle (442), M…

Finally started a post after been lurking for a while. I've always been an LEGO fan and a co-worker of mine introduced me to someone he knows who is a full-time LEGO investor. I started researching this site and found out that I just opened (an unopened) the Naboo Swamp for my 4 year old son to play with about 3 months ago. Ohh well! Anyways today I made my first purchase into LEGO investing. A couple of Friends sets and Minecraft. I have my wife's thumbs up on the scheme.

Greetings from a recently new born lego fan ( 48 yr old male ) in New Zealand ... I am working my way through the modular series, Pet Shop , Fire Station etc, I am up to date now but have seen some people selling plans to build extra buildings, but they are ONLY the plans , you have to buy the parts yourself...I have no problem in doing this but just wondered who has gone ahead and bought plans, were they easy to follow, and the cost of buying the bits separately ? Thought and comments gratefully received. Thanks Brian NZ

Hi everyone. I joined this site about a month ago or so, and have been lurking ever since, but I thought it time to say hello. Seems like a very friendly group here. I've been collecting Legos for 5 or 6 years now, but only on a very small-scale basis. After reading some of the posts on here, it sounds like I'm still a pretty small scale player! LOL This site has a lot of great information. It's helped me make much better decisions on sets to buy. However, it's also made me realize that I've made some stupid purchases in the past (can you say "Atlantis"?) Oh well. Guess that's part of the learning process, right? Anyway, just wanted to say hi to all th…

Just kidding I was born there. Now I'm in Utah. Hi LEGO lovers! Nice site and forum, I was surprised there are so many people collecting/investing in LEGO. I don't consider myself being either one, but rather looking for a small collection of really nice sets to enjoy later with my kids. I still have several years till we grow up enough But I don't want to be stuck with the sets available at the moment, so decided to start early. Too bad I missed several really cool sets by a year or two, but hopefully several more will come up this coming years. I wonder if there are people here who are kinda "old school" LEGO lovers. I mean people who would pr…

Hi. It seems like forever ago I was a child playing with LEGO and some 20 years later, I've finally come full circle back, probably due in some small (read: LARGE) part to us expecting our first child in early 2014. Well, it was either finding my old LEGO sets in my parents basement after all these years or deciding that I wanted to prematurely buy toys "for our kid". Either way, have been creeping the site for about a month and finally decided to make my presence know... although I love the dedication most show here, my LEGO investing thus far has been purely to maintain my hobby and to provide me with all the new (and old) sets that I've missed over the past…

Hello everyone! I just discovered BrickPicker today while browsing the internet, as I was looking to restart a hobby that I loved as a kid: Buying and selling Legos. I am 16 and used to make some solid cash on eBay selling my "old" Lego sets during my pre-teen years (they weren't old, they were mostly newer from 06 and 07...but I had just started to climb out of my "Dark Ages" at that time, so calling them that was my only way of moving on!) I mostly loved Star Wars, and had a large collection of some of today's highest valued SW sets, but sold them without knowing what their value would be right now (I still made a solid profit on them, though ) I have some of my …

I was really surprised to find this site and I already love it. I collect LEGO and I appreciate to have another source for actual prices. In the next weeks I want to start with my shop where you can rent LEGO Sets in Germany (especially the high value sets like the Star wars UCS models and buildings and monuments that aren't available anymore). So it's good to know the actual value of these sets. Happy collecting Jens PS: please excuse my poor english language knowledge

Just discovered this site a few days ago but I'm a loooong time LEGO fan. Started playing with the original LEGO SPACE, TOWN, and Technic sets from the late 70s onwards. Collected the original Pirate sets fanatically but took a long break afterwards. That is until the first licensed Star Wars sets appeared 1999 and I was totally hooked again. Have been collecting (and building) Star Wars, Pirates/Carribean, Indiana Jones, Batman, DC/Marvel Heroes, Lord of the Rings, and even Sponge Bob. Needless to say, my collection has grown massive!
