We added this Miscellaneous Forum Category so that Brickpicker Members can post any sort of question or interesting topic. LEGO topics are preferable, but not necessary, as long as they are interesting and of value to other members. Also, no spam or obscene posts. Feel free to post MOCs, LEGO collection pictures, general LEGO questions about building, colors, pieces...whatever. Thanks... Ed Mack

I watched this over the weekend on Netflix. Four episodes so far. Star Wars, Barbie, He-Man, GI Joe. All were fascinating on how these things got made. I think quite a large percentage of users on this site would get something out of it. If anything a fond memory of being a kid. I recommend it.

I am fairly new to paypal so they hold my funds for some time. My question to all the veterans is this, even though my funds are on hold can they be used to pay for auctions that I have won or do I have to wait for the funds to become available? Thanks for any help.

  4. http://www.nytimes.com/2013/09/06/nyregion/remote-controlled-copter-fatally-strikes-pilot-at-park.html?_r=0 I saw this article as a blurb on a Maker board I go to, but when I read the article and read "sliced his head off", it really started to sink in how dangerous some of these 'toys' can be. I had recently taken my 2 year old to see a model airplane display near our house. I made sure he stay far away from the pilots and the planes, but I never thought that he could have been killed by an errant model.

  5. Disney just doesn't care. If there were any other Lucas projects in the works - expect that Disney will be getting around to killing those ones as well.

OK, today's silly question.... What is the difference between MISB & NISB ? This has been bugging me for a while. I always tick both on the portfolio when I add sets.

  11. I was just wondering what Legos you guys have found at thrift stores and rumage sales. I have not had very much luck over the years, I've only found the Red Beard Runner and a few Bionicles in all. Maybe one of you has found a huge hoard somewhere. :)

I doubt most of you read through the introductions on the forums, but in mine I talked about how my wife and I run a children's retail store and how it allows me easy intake of toys, etc. on a semi-routine basis... it's amazing the stuff that people completely disregard because they are considered just "toys". Well, today was one of those random days and this is what I managed to take out of the store today... Not all LEGO but still, a decent haul today. Now just have to figure out what I'm doing with all this stuff.

A friend who knows I am a huge Lego Fan sent me this and I thought it was too good not to share. www.xkcd.com/1281/ After I saw it my first thought was I wonder what the curves for People who are Lego collectors and People who are Lego investors would look like on this graph.

  16. So I was digging through some of my old crap cleaning up today and ran across an old pre-order bonus I had received for the videogame Lost Planet 2 from 2010...its a "GTF-11 Drio Vital Suit" from the videogame, in the form of a 124 piece Lego set. Interesting thing about it is that I had forgotten it was made of genuine Lego pieces when I opened it a couple years ago, I had forgotten and assumed it was cheap knock-off bricks, because the box and instructions don't say Lego at all anywhere on them, instead the word "NEVEC" appears within the red box (NEVEC was the fictional company in the game that created the mech suits). So what's the deal with this thing? No…

Its baseball season!!! So we have a local radio station here in DFW that does a "Sock drawer prediction", where they make all their predictions dor how the season will end and put it in a drawer and forget about it until the season is over and go back and see how they did. So without further ado: AL West champ: Angels AL Central: Tigers AL East: Blue Jays AL Wild Card: Rangers AL Wild Card: Rays NL West: Giants NL Central: Reds NL East: Nationals NL Wild Card: Dodgers NL Wild Card: Braves Any other baseball fans here?

A LEGO Brickumentary (2015) Movie Info Since the birth of their trademark toy in 1958, The LEGO Group has produced over 400 billion bricks. But more and more, LEGO bricks aren't just for kids, and some take them very seriously. Adult Fans of LEGO around the globe are unashamedly declaring their love of the brick, brick artists are creating stunning and surprising creations, and LEGO master builders are building human scale and larger structures. 25. Started by Grandpa,

Hi. I have been looking at the TIE Intercepter, Set 7181, and the market value, according to BP, if I understand it correctly is about $375 new and $150 used. However, when I got to Amazon to buy it, the selling price is $799, and when I go to e-bay, the lowest value is $500. My question is: Where does BP get there values from, and what good is their evaluations if you can not get it for that price? This is NOT a criticism.....I am a newbie here and am just trying to learn how to buy, what to buy, when to buy and what price to pay. Grandpa
