I stumbled upon this article today while surfing the Internet. It wasn't reported about on any LEGO fan sites, I kinda just chanced upon it. Any way you can read it here: bit.ly/AFOLsNightmare. You older BP members can add this to your list of "Actually Good Reasons To Have Kids".

The rosters were announced on Saturday. I'm an A's fan, so seeing Bartolo as the only A's player selected ticked me off a bit. Balfour should've gone, Donaldson could also have been selected but there are bigger names - not stats - on the AL roster. I know that Ed is a Yankee fan, anyone else here follows MLB? How did your team fare?

  3. A board game called Boxers or Briefs. Game was clearanced out of most Walmarts in 2011 but still is around. The game will cost no more than $8. It seems only 1-10 Walmarts still have the game left, so don't get your hopes up. If you live in Maine or NH don't bother wasting your time. I bought them. This past Christmas sales ran $35-$60 per sealed copy. Right now you would probably only get $15-$20. Christmas 2011 sealed copies were selling for $25 - $30. It is an easy $50 for 2013 Christmas.

I am literally glued to my monitor from the moment I wake up to the moment I go to sleep. This addiction is crazy!! It's worse than smoking!! One time I ripped my brother's tablet from his hands and in ten seconds knew everything that was happening in the forums. Care to name a time your BP addiction got to you? I'm anxious to here others stories. Think of this like a small group session!

On the lighter side of things in the world, an amputee built herself a leg out of Lego. It's nice to see people enjoying life like this, taking a light-hearted approach to a devastating thing that happened to them (I believe she was in some sort of accident). "She is now the first person in history to be happy to step on a Lego" Read the article here: http://ca.news.yahoo.com/blogs/good-news/amputee-builds-her-own-prosthetic-leg-lego-155447445.html

You ever have one of those situations where you know you have a few of a certain set, are pretty sure you did not sell them yet, but just can't find them? Just found my Combine Harvesters (7636). For some reason I was thinking the box was green, so the blue blended in with another set in a stack in the garage and I just never thought it was them. Now I know where they are. Woot! Happened a couple of months ago too when I found I didn't sell all my Venators (8039). That's always nice to open a box and expect to see a different set and instead it's Venators. Happen to anyone else? An unexpected surprise finding a set or two that you didn't know you still h…

  9. So I went to the Midnight Showing of the Lone Ranger, the First bad sign was that in a 400 seat Theater there was only about 30 of us in there. And if you check and if you check the reviews alot of them are not good, But I see about everything wheen it first comes out. The Major complaint its a good 2 1/2 hrs long, But for the Movie it was just OK, For a Disney movie there is plenty of shooting and Killing, it does have comedy in it. And it is Johnny Depp's Movie, Acting all around was very good. So if you want action and lots of shooting well go see it, I give it a 7/10 score. If they just would of cut about a half hour it would of been better. Hopefully lots of people w…

Has anyone ever heard if sideshow collectibles? Some friends of mine who also invest in Lego were showing me these amazingly detailed statues and how they have a ridiculous return on them once sold out http://m.ebay.com/search?kw=Sideshow+darth+talon&isNewKw=1&so=12&pgn=1&epp=24&fads=1&mfs=GOCLK&acimp=0 This was a 290$ piece back a year ago and only 300

I had an interesting thought after hearing how many people dislike lego investors, be it companies or lego collectors. Without lego investors there would be little to no chance that people would be able to get an older set they may want. prices for older sets (having less stock around years after they EOL), would be through the roof. Point being that lego collectors should thank us. I enjoy selling on ebay and giving people things that are harder to find. So yeah...we should all pat ourselves on the back, because we are all making someone very happy when we sell them sets that are no longer available. On a semi-related note...I know this video is kind of old, but it is…

  13. It's interesting to think about how LEGO is so much more than just a plastic brick making company now. ...might be worth thinking about. http://smallbusiness.yahoo.com/advisor/build-brand-content-empire-learn-lego-131516058.html Although the best way for our existing sets to go way up in value if for LEGO to go out of business (Just kidding!)

Hi everyone. Just seeing if there are any fellow collectors who had a chance to go to Brick Fest (Brick Fiesta) today at the Mesquite Convention in Mesquite,TX. I dropped by this morning and they had some really great customs set up. There were also several vendors but there stuff was so expensive. Anyway, they are having it for one more day on Sunday from 11-4.

  15. The Brick Fan article. Austrailia's own Lego Certified Professional, Ryan McNaught, builder of the incredible helicopter MOC utilizing 10,000 parts and cost roughly $25,000 simply named "Elvis", was the subject of apparent vandalism as a group of juveniles had pushed the piece over as it was on display in Cairns Central. > >Elvis by TheBrickMan, on Flickr

Here is an update for sports/hockey fans. (For NHL Hockey I'm a Minnesota Wild fan.) The Chicago Blackhawks won the Stanley Cup Final tonight with a score of 3 to 2. I didn't get to watch too much of the Finals, but I heard it was a thrilling series. Was it a memorable Final or was it one you will easily forget? EDIT: I have now added a poll.

Is it just me or did Euro Amazon (e.***. UK, DE, FR, etc.) have some insane sales the last 2 - 3 months? I was just looking through my transactions and I have so far picked up (among other things): 6 X 4204 Mines 15 X 7938 Passenger Trains 10 X 7937 Train Stations 10 X 7939 Cargo Trains 2 X Rock Crawlers 2 X Helicopters 4 X Tower Bridges. How is Euro Amazon giving these discounts??? :s I'm going to have to declare bankruptcy soon because of them! lol.

(Apologies if this is in the wrong place or inappropriate. Feel free to delete if it is.) Since this site seems to be about making money, I thought I'd raise the subject of another income-generator I have looked into, which requires zero storage space, but can use similar bargain-finding skills: the stock market! Or, more specifically, financial spread betting which doesn't involve buying shares but is effectively the same, except no capital gains tax to pay and you can leverage your money to "buy" more stock than you otherwise could have, and shorting is easier too (although not really recommended because of the huge risk involved). Anyway, I'm not sure if …

I know Play Doh has a fan base too...even adult collectors I think. Anyways, my wife bought another play doh set (breakfast theme) for my 3.5yr old son and he enjoyed it a lot. Maybe it's just me but I don't like it at all haha. I told her to never buy play doh again since it's messy, pieces dries up too quickly and the clean up is a pain. At least with Lego you just pick up the bricks and it's done...play doh has just too many little bits you have to sweep/vaccum/clean up after and the colours eventually combine together. I realize as long as the kids are having fun and I guess play doe has some benefits but still Any other members out there whether you're…

Just wondering if any of you received your Spring Lego Catalogs yet? Today, I received my JANUARY one and am kind of upset since it took so long. I am guessing that the Spring one is coming out soon if it isn't out yet, and I have seen a couple threads mentioning already-received catalogs... I hope my Spring one doesn't take 3 months to get to me... BTW Just saw a new little tips for before posting a new forum topic. Here is the direct quote:
