  1. A friend of mine sent me the February issue of Spirit Magazine, Southwest Airlines. In it is a cool article regarding Lego: http://www.spiritmag.com/features/article/building_lego/ FYI, the actual article has a lot more pictures than the online version...

Even if Lego did release this as a set, the building techniques are way to advanced!

Given that it's February and Valentine's Day is but a week away, I believe that it's time to bring up The Talk (About your LEGO hobby). For those of us who were not blessed with beloved partners who loved LEGO just as much as we did, how did you talk to your SO about the wonders of the plastic brick, especially if they were skeptical, hostile, or had no idea that you have so many mini-figures hidden everywhere? Any other sagely advice is welcome as well.

So I tried to use a Target GC from that 10% promo and it did not work. I got home and called target and found out they deactivate it due to a limit of $300 per household. Anyone else experience this?

I just want to know how it's working when we selling on internet? When i need to declare has an income? I'm not having business number or tax number and i'm not charging tax when i'm selling too! But i don't want to have a bad surprise next spring! i'm searching some infos but nothing for canada!

  9. From USA Today, here is a less serious article that I found interesting.

  10. It's been years since I've bought bulk lots and picked through them to complete sets, but I think that I used to focus on finding minifigures or unique pieces and using peeron to match them. Now there are so many more Lego sites out there that I'm wondering what other techniques are out there that I'm missing. I've noticed the forum for identifying pieces on this site, but hate to be posting multiple pieces a day (I'm expecting 140 lbs in this week pending some shipping issues). Regardless, it'll be interesting to see how others handle bulk lots!

I just wanted to give out a huge THANK YOU to both Jeff and Ed for all the work they do on the site. I'm sure they spend a lot of money on all the data for the Brick Index and I know they spend a lot of time, all for us other investors to use the site for no cost. We do appreciate it all, so thank you! - Jacob

Ok, May and the Grand Opening near my place has pretty much made me go way over budget with my Lego "investment" purchases so I'm going for a Lego "investment" purchase lockdown for 60 days starting now. Who's with me? No "investment" lego purchase until Aug 3, 2013 12:05AM Eastern Time for me. I would've said ALL Lego purchases but I want that hog dog stand next month from Lego S&****. Oh man this is going to be hard.

Is it just me or did Euro Amazon (e.***. UK, DE, FR, etc.) have some insane sales the last 2 - 3 months? I was just looking through my transactions and I have so far picked up (among other things): 6 X 4204 Mines 15 X 7938 Passenger Trains 10 X 7937 Train Stations 10 X 7939 Cargo Trains 2 X Rock Crawlers 2 X Helicopters 4 X Tower Bridges. How is Euro Amazon giving these discounts??? :s I'm going to have to declare bankruptcy soon because of them! lol.

Has anyone else noticed that the brick fan might have been hacked? I tried to go to the website and it directed me to a link titled trolololololol.Com or whatever. Is it just me?

  16. Started by GiliusThunderhead,

No idea what forum to post this in (or even if im allowed to given its on a topic of a different brick review media) and I cant seem to find an answer to my question here already. Whats the general opinion on the Brick Show (the youtube guys)? Personally I really like watching there reviews. When looking at sets I want one of the first places I check out is there review. Wondered if they're universally "loved" as much as I think they should be? Or do people not really pay much attention to them so its just each unto their own? Also given they're massive 1989 batman fans as well that a definite plus in my book and they actually come across really well as people to…

I am guessing a few people on here are big fans of the Harry Potter books, so in case anyone hasn't heard it, JK Rowling published a book under a pseudo name, Robert Galbraith. http://www.amazon.com/The-Cuckoos-Calling-Robert-Galbraith/dp/0316206849/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1373980865&sr=8-1&keywords=the+cuckoo%27s+calling In other news, I'm thinking of writing a book, and having my fake name be John Killian Rowling (JK Rowling)

  19. I signed up for BP a year ago, and was thinking about what it was like back then. New topics could sit in the new topics bar for a few days instead of a few hours. I got onto the top 20 posters list with 190 posts. TheOrcKing only had about 500 posts and stephen_rockefeller had 700! Feel free to talk about the growth of BP over the last year here!

  20. I'm going to go ahead and say that's the largest private collection of official LEGO sets I have EVER seen. I mean seriously. When the camera first turned around to face the entire room. When the camera moves upward to see the hanging shelves. When the camera moves into an ENTIRELY DIFFERENT SECOND ROOM EQUALLY FILLED WITH LEGO. It's like a game of Where's Waldo, but with every LEGO set imaginable. "Does he have the- yep, it's right there. What about the- oh, right there next to the other UCS sets." Have you considered making your own brick films or curious about the process then perhaps check out this collaborative book from David Pagano (Paganomation) and David Pickett (Brick 101) available at No Starch Press and Amazon.
