Just like the title asks, what LEGO set did you buy today? I bought the 4184 POTC Black Pearl.

Materials guide for LEGO selling & shipping Many members have asked for a centralized place where they can go for shipping box information. I'm going to pin this post and update it as new information is provided. I just want to take a few minutes and thank those who wrote the following articles. They are still very good reference materials for the LEGO storage and shipping process. I may develop this into a blog article eventually. Fcbarcelona101's : Selling LEGO : Basic Materials Guide Mos Eisley 's : LEGO Storage Wars Incompetech's Catalog of Amazon.com Box Sizes - (thanks No More Monkeys) Amazon Boxes Sorted list by length - courtesy of psteb…

Since we have the buying thread, I thought we could have a selling thread too. Let guys, and girls, let others know sets they have moved, maybe returns that they realized and the timeframe it took to get there. If this is lame, well, I guess it will fall to the depths of the forum, here goes. Sold a sealed 7199 IJ Temple of Doom for $200, purchased for $115 6 months ago I have others, but this is just to give you an idea.

I don't know if here is a thread for this already, but I was looking for an answer for a certain set (70809) Lord Business Evil Lair how many of them are in a LEGO shipping box. I think this would be helpful to have a thread where people can post for each set, as the amount of items that I have received damaged is huge, usually if you buy a single set in the UK (Not Lego S&****) they send it in bubble wrap (if you're lucky) in a plastic bag, but i have found if you buy the quantity of a shipping box they usually just ship it in that box and it protects the items better. With all of the threads for what you bought, built, or sold, I think it might be interesting to hear what some people passed up on while out shopping? Might help get an idea of what one doesn't like. Note: Don't get crazy with this, obviously one could list every set at there local store, but that would defeat the purpose of this. I'm hoping this might help with impulse buying, which I'm sure many of us have done from time to time...

Mod update : This thread is for all non-technical questions about shipping on eBay and other marketplaces. ----------------------- I am relatively new to utilizing the eBay shipping tool. I like the convenience of it for sure. To those who have used or still use this tool, who do you normally ship with (USPS or FedEx)? I seem to find that FedEx is the cheaper of the two, but I see people referencing USPS as a cheaper option regularly. When I compare the (inserting package dimensions and weight) I might see $15 for FedEx and $36 for USPS Priority Mail. Am I missing something?

I thought it might be fun to have a place to share pictures of the terrible ways we receive our sets (sarcastic thread title), whether it's pancaked sets, oversized boxes, etc. I'll start with my SSDs that arrived a couple days ago: Enormous box: Three sets inside, with no packaging material. Third set is underneath the top two, and was crushed with all 4 seals popped: This box came to me today. What could be inside? A couple Death Stars? 60 Minecraft sets? Nope, just one HH and about a kilometer of air pouches: At least they actually padded this one, and I'll have enough pouches to last a while l…

I have looked at a couple of sites but haven't found the info I am looking for. My question is specifically for set 4483, trying to figure out how many sealed bags of pieces there should be. Is there a simple site to find that info?

What are scripts and how do they work? I like many of us are looking ways to score deals which are only available for minutes.

update from jaisonline : i merged a few topics into one. ---------- ---------- Two weeks ago I shipped a 1400 piece technic set via ups ground for 15 bucks. Today I tried to ship a 1400 piece technic set via ups ground, and they wanted 22 bucks!!! What happened?? Btw, the first set went to new york, the second is going to south carolina. So i dont think distance was a factor, and the boxes were the same size and weight... Seriously, what is going on?

Apparently, 16 states, 2 climate organizations, and the UAW are suing USPS to stop it from getting new delivery trucks. https://autos.yahoo.com/usps-sued-states-climate-orgs-160700437.html?.tsrc=daily_mail&uh_test=2_15 Everyone can argue about the environmental impacts, but all I see is higher costs of shipping going forward

I have these Creator sets and they are priced well below the Lego RRP, retired sets. Just can't get rid of them for a reasonable price. I always thought Ferris Wheels, Ships and Castle's were popular. 31119 Ferris Wheel 31120 Medieval Castle 31132 Viking Ship and the Midgard Serpent Any idea why these don't sell? Thanks

Whelp. I finally summoned the courage to open some mangled best buy sets and the bags are sealed and all there. So that's nice. I ordered 3 31120's medieval castle a while back. They arrived looking like the typical Best Buy ordered. Seals busted, taped to hell, labels everywhere, rips in the box face. So I returned them. I must have hit the wrong button because I only got a refund for 1 set, and then all 3 of them came back to me. So now I have 3 sets for the price of 2 at least. Customer service was no help so I figured I'm stuck with them and put them in a box to deal with later. Long story short. Do not order from best buy. They are completely usel…

This thing won't sell for even 100 euro under the Lego RRP. It is a retired set. People offering it new for 140 euro on BL. I have 3 of them, now priced at a loss for 195 euro. What is with this set that people don't want it?

A buyer recently asked to return a large Lego set they bought on BrickLink. The box was literally perfect when I sent it in the snug 'frustration free' cardboard box.As you can see, it did get a bit damaged in transit, but (to me) it's nowhere near "pretty beat up" as the buyer described. Of course, accepting the return means I'd be out selling fees and round-trip shipping, which totals around $60. Recognizing this, I offered him a small discount. He rejected and filed a claim with PayPal. The individual is apparently a reseller who is uninterested in less-than-perfect boxes. I am expecting PayPal will side with buyer because it seems like that's eBay's default. …

Hello. On Best Buy I see that they advertise that members of the “My Best Buy Plus” program save 10% on all LEGO sets. Is this an additional 10% on top of any other discounts and sale prices? Are there any catches to the program? How are they with limits? I currently have a business account so I’ve been able to get up to 25 sets sometimes. Not sure if my business account can sign up for this program or not. Any feedback on those topics would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Good morning everyone, new to the forum here, and relatively new to the LEGO game, approx 2 years. Have a bunch of sets that are built and a bunch unbuilt. After doing some research I see that even some built sets, if you have the box, and instructions can still be worth some money. I’m just trying to get an idea if these built sets truly do retain some value, or am I just building and displaying for fun? thanks in advanced!

I just noticed something tonight while listing an item for sale on Mercari. I am new to selling on that platform so I am sure that some of you have probably already noticed this. Mercari charges 10% fees. But while building the listing if you list it as free shipping for the buyer then Mercari charges you 10% of the shipping fee as well (kinda like Ebay applies their fees to shipping costs as well). But, if you list it as buyer pays for shipping then you do NOT get charged the 10% on shipping. For example, if I sell a item for $100 and it costs $15 to ship this item nationwide (only option on Mercari) then I pay 10% of $100 to Mercari leaving me with $90 and then I p…

Debating on whether or not to register as an LLC. Looking for pro's and con's from those of you who have done it, or those of you who have decided not to do it. Not sure if there is a thresh-hold of sales volume or other things to consider when making the decision. I know LEGO isn't exactly an item that you have a ton of liability selling, but thinking that maybe it would make taxes and debt's easier to control and track.

Hey everyone, I'm thinking that it may be time to sell my collection. Just wanted to see if anyone has any tips like where to sell, how I could possibly sell the whole collection together, and generally anything you may have found helpful when you were selling. I appreciate any advice. Thank you.

I have heard talk of a Bricks and Minifig store opening up in my area. I actually looked into opening one or something similar and the numbers just didnt seem right for my area. Hopefully I am wrong and the store is a great success. We already have a Lego store and its one of the smallest as far as sales volume goes. I dont really have much competition in my area when it comes to buying clearance Lego so I hope that doesnt change.
