  2. I can remember my dad showing me how to interlock bricks so my walls wouldn't fall down when building houses and garages. But I was a huge fan of Thunderbirds in the 1960's and can remember making a reasonable Zero-X from the Thunderbirds Are Go film. The small shuttle part and the lifting wings were detachable from the main body - and it used to creash spectacularly just like in the film.

  3. While cooking breakfast this morning, I remembered mine from last night. I'd been going through the Lego in Wal-Mart for abough a half hour, (it was obviously nothing like real Lego ) I went over to the CM bin, and it was accurately empty. As I was walking away, an employee came up and dumped a bunch of CM's in the bin, so I naturally went over to smoosh. I found a Sea Captain, but I don't remember anything else. Then in my dream, I remembered that the employee had dumped the figs from a plastic bag, and that therefore, I realized, there would be no Mr. ***. because of employee smooshing. Has anyone else had this level of LEGO realism in a dream? We need therepy... ;)

  4. OK, this is not totally my original idea. I got from Knorbika on the Who is over 30 thread and thought it deserved its own thread. http://www.brickpicker.com/index.php/forums/viewthread/3404/P60/#35592 So.... What was your first ever Lego set? And do you still have it? Mine was 673 I got on Christmas 79 I think. I only have about 3 original pieces left so I hunted out a pristine version from eBay. If you want to add pictures, I got mine from Brickset.com

  5. I was thinking about this and I would love to see Star Trek UCS starships. The potential for many different ship sets would be numerous. What do you think?

  6. I got an almost complete set of Brickbeards Bounty in a 34 lb lot I purchased but the sails were not in the box. Looking to trade if possible. I have 5 extra sets (yes, multiple sets)of sails for the Black Pearl, if anyone can help, or knows someone that can, please LMK Mr. Bill

For some reason in stores and online in my country they usually put Playmobil and Lego together, I remember when I was a kid watching those toys and asking myself: What is this? What are they doing next to Lego if you can't build them? I guess they're just common toys =/.

  8. Married? Single? With grown up children? With very young children? How do you find time to build? How do you find money to invest? I ask because I'm a 29 year old father of 2 girls aged 3 and 1 be my wife is 5 days overdue with our 3rd. I've just bought the VW Camper but now am thinking "when will I find time to build it?!"

  11. So some years ago I bought a few Mill Village sets #7189 and broke them down for Bricklink. But I didn't list the goats on Bricklink because I was going to list them on eBay, but never did. Thankfully, in the meantime the set retired, no more sets with little white goats, and I didn't sell them for cheap. Nice to find a bag of 30 of them in a drawer Also, I thought I just had a single Delorean #21103 set, but when moving a few things around earlier this evening, I found two more. Woot! Any stories you have of finding forgotten goodies?

What weird retail stores/websites do you find/buy legos? Obviously everyone know the typical places to look for in the U.S. I'm mostly wondering if there are any local places that I haven't thought to look for deal.

  16. Which movies would you like to see in Lego and think would be good performers? I wouldn't mind Narnia sets, and would love if Lego could get Star Trek and Transformers off of Kre-O.

Simple question, who else on here is over 30? I see a ton of posts that reference to being born in the 80's... I was born in 1977, and I am currently 35 (still act 5).

So I am looking into getting into this in my area. I'm sure there are members here that are also LUG members. I know a while back LUGs were brought up and a member who is no longer member here was acting like LUGs are some exlusive super secret underground club. Looking at a LUG chapter website in my area, it doesn't seem that way at all. Any experiences you would like to share would be helpful. If any of my Texas peeps want more info just let me know.

So my move into toys made it inevitable I was going to come across other stuff like this. It has happened. I am now hooked on board games. There is a board game flipping, investing market - Much smaller and mostly about promos, etc. But I was curious if anyone else has looked out there and found the insane amount of awesome board games coming out almost daily. There are some really awesome simple ones I have and have played a lot: Munchkin - card game. Close to 1 million expansions. Ticket to Ride - great and simple family game thats not cheesy. King of Tokyo - Giant monsters battling each other Smash-up - Similar to that, but a card game D…
