Futureshop has a one day sale today, 20% all LEGO. Not sure if there is anything worth picking up though. Also not Lego, but the pink Nintendo 3DS is only $99.99, which is a really good price!

Out of your entire collection, how much would you say you bought from Canada (e.***. a Canadian Lego Store, Walmart, Target, etc) for investing? I would have to say out of my collection it's pretty much less than 10%. Most of my stuff comes from state side or the UK. Insane markups + HST in Ontario just make the prices a joke compared to what our friends in the USA get.

Anyone tempted by the 1/2 off Goblin King Battle or 40% off Mining Truck? I'm considering doing it, although the Goblin King always seems to be discounted, well, everywhere. I don't know how many of these I want to stock. That being said, with the second film on the horizon, maybe the first wave will EOL sometime around Christmas or into early 2014. Also, the turkey poly and minifg sets aren't as good as last years - I liked the ghost poly and the vintage minifig sets more.

Hey guys, just a heads up. Toysnbricks is reporting that Series 11 is now Available up here. Take a look at the comments; one member reports finding them in Calgary indicating that Westerners may be able to pick them up early as well. Obviously this doesn`t necessarily constitute a "deal" but figured this is the best place to share.I`ll be checking my stores this afternoon in hopes of finding them. Will report back this evening. Happy Hunting!

Just wanted to point this out, TRU has another sale on all of the titled themes starting tomorrow. The key words are "Up to" unfortunately, so we`ll have to check the site tomorrow or wander in store to see exactly what is being discounted. Not great, but who knows, someone may be able to score something. He`s the link to the flyer.

The TOYS TOYS TOYS store at the TD Centre downtown is having their semi-annual 40% off lego sale right now. Bear in mind that their regular prices are typically 10-20% more than standard retail prices, but even so this is a decent sale and they have most current sets, and even some that I haven't seen in a while, like the red Ninjago Samurai Robot. As an example, after the discount the Rancor pit would be $60 plus tax, which is the best price I've seen yet for this set in Canada.

On indigo.ca, you can use the code 25OFFONEBTS to get a 25% discount on nearly anything (including Lego) online. If you want to buy a book, to get a discount you have to buy instore, but a Lego set can be bought online with the code for 25% off. You have until August 18th to cash in on this deal. The discount even made the front page on Brickset: http://www.brickset.com/news/article/?ID=7315#comments With the discount, you can knock down the prices on a variety of sets, from a Helm's Deep for 127 dollars to a Mini Technic Tow Truck for 11.24 (I strongly recommend both sets from an investment perspective they both have great potential). Happy hunting

I can't for the life of me find the thread about whether a set is a good deal or not...so anyway, I started one in the Canada section. Found: Monster Fighters 9463 The Werewolf - $16.24 + 12% tax (reg $24.99) Monster Fighters 9462 The Mummy - $9.74 + 12% tax (reg $14.99) Should I pick these up? I am not interested in building these sets and am looking purely for investing purposes.

Use coupon code GETONEFOR25OFF to get 25% off one item from chapters. It works on small sets like the Catcycle chase and if you ship to store you'll avoid that extra cost. I tried it on Battle Over Gotham City (which is already on sale) but the offer did not stack. They have new sets like the Jabba Sail Barge, LotR, Castle etc. and if you have a plum points card for every 5 orders (each at $20 or more) you get 8500 Plum Points which is equivalent to $20 so another $4 off each of the orders you placed. http://www.chapters.indigo.ca/kids/toys/birthday/bonus/ Don't forget about cash back offers as well.

Wouldn't necessarily call this a deal, but Mastermind Toys is currently selling this set a few days before the official release date. Apparently they can be found in stores too. Will check my local store later today. http://www.mastermindtoys.com/LEGO-Back-to-the-Future-DeLorean.aspx?refid=2000

I've been reading that a lot of people buy from Amazon Europe, but do you still get good deals after the exchange rate in Canada, and shipping costs? Last year when it was a tad over $1.60 CAD for 1 pound when I was exchanging money, and it just seems like it would work out to the same as buying in Canada.

So I was at my local Canadian target at lunch today (Greater Vancouver area) and they have started clearance on the current LOTR sets. My location had Mines of Moria for $69.99, Shelob Attacks for $17,99 and Weather Top for $52.99. Not bad pricing especially on the Weather Top. Add an extra 5% discount with Redcard and there's a few deals to be had. I don't know if this clearance is chain wide or not tho, it's the only location near me. Orc Forge was also on clearance for $34.99, but there were none left because I bought the last 23 they had yesterday! lol

Just a heads up (mainly for Canadian buyers)...no 'must buy' deals but typical 20% off and Plum pts add up if you want/need a particular set. The additional $5 off promo code has expired which would have made it better. http://www.chapters.indigo.ca/kids/toys/brands/lego/?ref=shop%3ahome%3ahome-main%3apromospot-2-5b5d-wednesday%3aps2

Not a big discount but if you plan/want to buy something might as well get $5 off using promo code 5OFF. The best deal I found was Batwing for 20% off CAN retail ($44.95) = $35.96 - $5 off promo = $30.96...add in the tax we're basically paying US price. If you like this set and just buy within CAN market this might be the cheapest price currently. What little margin you can squeeze is important right. And you get Plum pts which add up.

I took a break from writing reviews and found some deals for y'all! The following items are on clearance at Walmart.ca: Krang's Lab $15 TIE Fighter $50 Mobile Police Unit $50 Heavy Duty Police Helicopter $50 Select Hero Factory $10 And the big one: Warp Stinger $20 (half price!) it is out of stock online but still available at many stores Interestingly, all LOTR sets have been pulled from the Walmart website. I don't know the reason for this, but I'm probably going to be running to my Wallyworld soon to see what's up! Good luck in catching the big deal everyone!

Nothing special but just thought I'll post this for those who only shop within CAN and want/need an Army set. 25% discount is better than 20% we see normally at retail. Instead of $39.99 we're paying US price of $30. Did not see any other LOTR/Hobbit deals. Along with other investors I hope this set with Helms Deep retires before December this year.

No Tax weekend again at RCSS (Real Canadian Super Store) for tomorrow (and I believe Sunday). Great if you want to pick up the smaller sets that RCSS offers. Saw a couple of Captain America cycles today for 11.97 clearance at the Oakville location. Good luck!

Seems like the US Dollar is slowly strengthening against the loonie (I was facing a 1.03 exchange rate a couple of months ago and now it's slowly creeped back up to 1.07-1.08). While I welcome this move as it makes it even more profitable selling back to the Americans, it really sucks for us as it's going to be more and more expensive buying Lego from the states and reselling back to Canadians.. *sigh* Thoughts?

Looks like the Unimog is gone from online (CAN) inventory but the Grand Prix Racer is $119.99. Doesn't seem special but CAN retail price is $149.99 so 20% discount if you want/need one for personal collection.

Just a little something I noticed on eBay. Toys R Us Canada no longer has a presence there. It wasn't that it had any great savings, however, it did offer free shipping even on a single item, unlike toyrsus.ca.
