I've been offered the following minifigures and I'm not experienced enough to know if there is any "additional" value in these guys other than the marginal price a minifigure costs (minimums). Does anyone see any uncommon or more rare minifigures in this picture. The picture is not the best either which doesn't help at all either. I'm seeing a bunch of pirates which I don't think carry much value on the market, but could be wrong too. Thank you for any feedback. The same picture is uploaded twice in case one has a little more clarity than the other.

Hi folks, I'm curious if anyone else here has their own website for selling? We set up our own online store last year after deciding to put a bit more energy into the business, and it's been a really interesting ride. I'm naturally interested in web development and marketing etc, so my thinking had been it was a worthwhile investment in my own learning if nothing else, though I was confident it would be worthwhile from a business perspective too. Obviously we've gone from spending money on fees to spending it on advertising and marketing, but it's been fairly worthwhile so far - at least in our local experience in New Zealand. Would love to know if …

I am taking a short trip with my wife to my parents soon. They live in the middle of nowhere. I was going to hit up the local stores and see about finding some sets. We are flying Southwest, so our bags fly free (as they should!) and we are only taking two bags, meaning we have two to spare. I know how hard the handlers are with baggage and there is no way to stop them from putting the box on the bottom of everything else. Has anyone done this and what what your experience? Thanks!

Hi, Sorry if this is in the wrong section or not allowed. I have an old collection of Lego that's sitting around gathering dust and was wondering if I were to upload some images whether anybody could help me out at all in identifying anything of any value. Thanks.

Since these themes are not ones I am very knowledgeable about, can anyone share some opinions here? I know the big box retailers don't carry these usually, so anytime we get a 25% coupon from B&****** or whatnot, should I be picking up Arch sets? I am a little leery on the investment value of these, as the primary driving investment force seems to be minifigures, and obviously these have none. Should these be flipped for a 10-15% profit after coupon? Or held on to? Which of these sets will be worth holding on to? If any? Technic - Similar sort of thing. Should I be using TRU coupons/discounts to load up on some of these sets? Any thoughts as to what makes …

I have been looking at collecting legos for a while and was just wondering about the sets more gear towards adult collectors. Is seem all of the "hard to find sets" (lego website) are pretty much in the model number 10XXX range. Is that number range as of right now pretty much assigned to low production (not in retail usually), generally large sets, and aimed at the adult builder and/or collector? When does the ebay price data get updated on the site? B.R. Totoro

Maybe I am reading too much into this but are the deals that some people stumble upon on eBay hurting the market value of sets? Since the calculated value is based upon eBay sales then this should be the case right? A recent example is the smoking deal that a member (over 50% off) got yesterday on a set due to the sellers listing error. That sale will probably hurt the value since not that many of that set being sold. Will stuff like this even itself out eventually? Am I making an issue out of nothing?

So I have a list of sets that I want to collect over time. I do not want to pay more than the market value according to this site though. Why is it that people are posting NIB sets on ebay for WAY more than the market value? Do they expect to sell them for that, because obviously they don't sell. The best thing to do would be to let people bid and see how high it goes. I don't think anyone is going to pay 1500 bucks for something whose market value new is only 350. I'm sure this has been discussed before, but it just seems so illogical to try to get hundreds more than something is worth. I know it's been going on for years but ...yeah...I don't get it.

I was wondering if poly bags made a good investment? I have limited storage space and I do not want to devout a large sum to LEGO investing. My goal in investing with LEGO is just to have fun and maybe someday down the line have the hobby pay for itself.

Hi, The question says it all really - I've just acquired some loose lego 2nd hand that all says 'Pat. Pending' on it. If I sold this loose, by the kg/lb for example should I expect a higher return compared to doing the same with modern bricks, or is it worth the same, or perhaps even less? (typically I can get about

I am asking a general question here, being a Lego fanatic for some time, I have noticed the ever increasing lines or "themes" that Lego has come out with. As far back as I can remember, Lego came in Duplo, City and Technic. I can remember when Space came along and then the sub-themes to City. Looking at the variety of themes there is today, I am wondering if Lego is stretching themselves thin. It is interesting that Lego is trying to get into the female market (again) however the recent themes of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and The Lone Ranger seem not to have been taken up as well. Previously, themes such as Dino, Soccer and Ice Hockey have not been all that rec…

Just wondering... I was sorting through a lot of Legos, Mega Blocks, and other clones, and I found a couple pieces that either are made by Lego, and I am just wondering what set they might be from, and some, I am not sure if they are made buy Lego or another company. Any help would be help a lot! Thanks!

Hi I have been around for a few years now in the lego world seriously and wondered how people spend their time with Lego. I personally got back into it with the coming of age of my children being interested in lego which fuelled my interest. I was horrified to see sets selling for so much money that i had as a child. We embarked on a 20kg stash from ebay and as they built sets we bought missing pieces from bricklink, then opened a shop to sell our spare parts and the rest is history. With a very succesful Bricklink and Ebay store and a every growing investment section I now need more room!!!! Just wanted general feedback really, i ask all my customers what they are …

Just like alcoholism, gambling, smoking, drug abuse and such, do you feel like your LEGO collecting/investing is a problem? Do you lie awake at night needing the fix? Is your LEGO spending causing a strain on you marriage? Do you need to join LEGOholics anonymous 12 step program? Have you ever called up your credit card company just to make sure you have enough to purchase LEGO? Do you go to the store with $50, purchase $49 in LEGO and then put the last dollar in your gas tank? Will you buy sets for your KIDS just because you want them and then end up building it FOR THEM? Do you feel others have a LEGO problem but not you? Take a good …

Just trying to start a discussion on how you became an Investor? Were you once a collector that is now wanting to supplement your collection by making some money on selling your extras? Do you sell your extras to buy more LEGO? What made you get started in the Investing world? Do you buy and hold? Do you buy to flip quick?

I recently got a deal where I bought a complete Jabba's Palace and Rancor set for $50. Sometimes I'm relieved when I get a good deal on loose sets that I want to build. Knowing that I don't have to open a sealed set that might be a good money maker down the road is a great feeling and I'm not sure why.

Ed and I know that most of you look on eBay for good LEGO deals, but one thing we don't read all that much about is what all of you are doing as far as selling on eBay. We would like to know more about how much some of you sell. Do you have an eBay store? Do you sell anything on eBay? Do you plan to start soon?

I haven't been seriously collecting for a long time, but I find it interesting some of the stories about people buying 30 of the same set, etc. I have gotten immune to some things, but I still haven't been able to bring myself to buy a friends set. And I hate when I walk up to the checkout counter with 4 Lego sets and the cashier just happens to be really attractive So are most of you just immune to it? When do you still find yourself embarrassed. Or are you to the point where it doesn't matter?

How long would you say on average a set lasts at retail? I'm thinking of an average type set here, for example most medium to large sets. Some, like modulars and , cough... 10188 DS... cough, are around for a long time. But what about standard sets from the past and present (think Tie Fighter, Jabba's Palace, R2-D2, POTC ships, Trains, Diagon Alley, Batcave, Bag End, etc etc). The reason I'm curious as I'm looking at the CAGR of sets and we calculate this from the release date of the set. When in reality we often make purchases nearer EOL, making the growth rate higher. (not to mention discounts off retail, but that's another topic). What say you?

We all know the benefits of large sets in our collections, large sets are winners, they are the most sought after, the most rare, the most memorable, and the ones most easily passed on because people may not have the money at a given point in time. They have the added benefit of increasing sale amounts which gets you more money for less time spent selling. In reviewing many of the members with large collections on here (~$50,000+) it seems that a lot of their inventories are in smaller sets (under $75 msrp) and many with really small sets (under $40 msrp). I am curious why there is such disparity between the sets we talk about and want to invest in, and the ones we…
