As many of you already know, The LEGO Movie finished #1 in the Box Office this past weekend bringing in 69.1 million dollars. Obviously, it is quite a success, with a sequel already planned. LEGO bricks have always had a very passionate fan base, but now with all the added exposure and popularity, will this affect the LEGO secondary market in a positive or negative way? Will it aid in the formation of a speculative bubble? Will the market become flooded with the dreaded LEGO flippers and resellers? Will The LEGO Movie sets be worth anything? Just a few simple questions to ponder...

Hey, just scored a really nice 6211 star destroyer for a bargain price. The ship was so huge that the then young kid never really played with it or the figures EXCEPT for the escape pod, which was apparently lost outside for awhile and turned a nice shade of yellow. I have seen the cleaning techniques and was eager to give it a shot but then I realized the pod is stickered on the sides. Now I am unsure what my options are. Can it still be restored or should I just leave the pod as-is when I resell?

Being an avid collector and investor, I am currently putting together my Lego room. Right now its just a pretty large closet with a few Lego posters and a bookshelf with my favorite built sets and my large collection of polybags and my Legoland coffee cup and my Bricktober Duplo bricks. I plan on adding a few Modulars and a desk later this year. Tell me about your own Lego rooms or your plans for having one!

Wow. We went to 3 lego stores this morning looking for more crawlers....gone. Every store was sold out and no more coming. That was bittersweet news for obvious reasons. The great news for all of us...you could barely walk in ALL 3 of these stores! I've never seen them thus crowded...not even at Christmas. People were walking out with ewoks and opera houses....I couldn't believe it! Kids were buying chima..and knew all the characters and tribes. Now with walmart, target, and even tru nearly doubling their lego space...this is just starting to take off. They had 3 registers going at burlington...and still lines of people. Never seen this. Best thingI overheard was an eld…

A little background on the source of the question: I have "ran my business" for about 1.5 years. Prior to that it was mostly a hobby to help pay for college. I was buying more than selling, using my salary to build up a nice stash. Last year I decided to get serious. Registered a business, switched everything to business accounts etc. I started "selling like crazy" and went from my normal sub 20K sales to my first six figure sales year. This year I'm on track to grow another 400-500%. Great....?! At this point I don't know if I'm doing well or as well as i could be... (I'm not searching for affirmation). I still have my 40 hour career. I try to find time to prepa…

So today I overheard a Smyths employee telling someone looking at Lego that Lego in it's box is worth more than gold. We are all screwed, it's the shoe shine boy moment. Ironbrick was right all along, the world is ending, the end is nigh.

Hi, I am interested in understanding what percentage of your overall investment portfolio is in Lego. From all my investments stocks & shares, bonds, lego, ISA, savings, etc. I have around 40% of my overall investment funds tied up in Lego. On reflection I think this is too much, but won't say that if the returns are good! BTW - I am not including my pension in this. Thanks all for sharing.

I noticed an auction up on Ebay for the Minifigure Collectors Series Lego Movie boxes(60ct) and the seller in question has pre-sold 96 of them already, with a shipping estimate of February 20 etc. How is it even possible this seller can get ahold of this many of this item, let along guarantee the buyers they will have one when they aren't for sale on Lego's site yet. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lego-Movie-Minifigures-Series-12-New-box-case-of-60-Sealed-Packets-Lego-71004-/191046321073?pt=Building_Toys_US&hash=item2c7b3f83b1 If the seller didn't have good feedback I'd almost think they were in the process of a cash grab with $19,000+ pre-orders.

There is a guy near me who has 1000's of polybags for sale. They range from Pirates of the Caribbean to New Star Wars. He even has 13 Admiral Yularen which I'm pretty sure hasn't been released yet. How do you think he came about these? He also has unopened boxes of Lego Movie cmf's. My first thought was it could be stolen merch but he has polys from 2007. What do you guys think? His prices are pretty low. ($5 for VW for instance)

Is there a way to view other members' Brickfolios? I imagine some people want to keep that private, but I think it's fun to see what sets other people are hoarding. Maybe an option to make your Brickfolio public or private?

I have found a seller who has all the Viking sets and wants to sell them because their kids are going to college. For all 8 sets, they came up with a price of over $500! All the sets are used! Is this even worth negotiating? Seller was using Amazon's prices for the sets.

The BrickPicker website is about LEGO 'investing' and collecting, but it is also about making MONEY from LEGO bricks. The LEGO CUUSOO Program enables the MOC(My Own Creation) Builder to submit their creations to LEGO, so that CUUSOO members can vote on them. Once a creation gets a certain amount of votes, it is then presented to LEGO itself for consideration of becoming an actual set. If it becomes an actual LEGO set, royalties are paid to the creator of the set. The first CUUSOO creation that sold to the buying public was the 21100 SHINKAI 6500 SUBMARINE. The set was very well done and reminded me of an Ultimate Collector's Series Star Wars set. The set is very r…

For those of us who sell on ebay. Does anyone use portable soft lightbox to take pics of minifigs and smaller sets? Ez cube while top grade is a little too expensive and will not pay for itself for awhile and do it yourself setup is not very portable. So are there any other decent quality portable lighting kits that are available? I of course looked on ebay and saw bunch of them for 30 dollars but they looked like cheap knockoffs to me.

Hey guys, Beef here and I'd like to share with you my very first Monday Haul here on the forum. Every Monday I'll update you with what I've purchased throughout the week. This week ended up being a BIG ONE, I took advantage of double VIP points this last weekend and grabbed a few things and I also found some deals on some older sets at a local retailer near me. Hope you enjoy Next weekend I'll be attending Wizard World Chicago, so hopefully I'll find something fun for you there. Till then, thanks for watching.

Hello, I know most LEGO fans don't even like to mention the term 'MegaBloks' and I know many think they are just big blocks for babies. I do think that the Halo, Need for Speed, StarCraft and World of Warcraft sets are pretty darn cool though. Does anyone think that MegaBlok has a chance of ever becoming liked by the LEGO crowd? I attached some sets that I thought were pretty cool.
