Hi, I just started buying Lego sets back in November after picking up some Duplos for my kids and was instantly hooked. I have been watching the Fire Brigade on Toysrus.ca 10 x day in hopes that it comes back in stock. From experience, do any out of stock items ever come back in stock on their site like they occasionally do on a amazon or Walmart, or am I wasting my time checking obsessively every day. I would love to add the Fire Brigade to the rest of my modular sets. Thanks for any information.

It's that time again, when Toys Toys Toys inflates their already high "sale" prices by 20% and then has a 40% off sale. Basically the price comes out to what Toys R Us would charge when they have one of their 20% off sales. I typically wait for the Toys R Us sale as they have more selection, but those can be months apart, and Toys Toys Toys does have some sets that are EOL or about to be so I picked up the last 2 X-wings, 2 Mines of Moria, and 2 Unexpected Gatherings as in my experience these are becoming hard to find anywhere now. Longtime readers will know of my usual contempt for this Toronto chain which seems to price all of their lego and many other toys "on sale" at 20% above the MSRP. However they just did me a huge solid today so I figured I owed them a shout out. I missed out on the Disney minifigs (apart from 3) and still needed 4 Simpsons minifigs. The location near my office still had a number of these series left at $6.99 CDN each so I normally would pass on taking a chance but just happened to ask the desk jockey if he was any good at smooshing. Just a little something I noticed on eBay. Toys R Us Canada no longer has a presence there. It wasn't that it had any great savings, however, it did offer free shipping even on a single item, unlike toyrsus.ca.

So the other special at TRU that has hardly been mentioned is the LEGO movie scratch tickets. You bring in your receipts/tickets from the LEGO Movie at any TRU and a scratch ticket. Apparently a limit of 100 scratch tickets per store. I took 3 movie tickets in for 3 scratch tickets and won..... 3 LEGO posters, lol. I'm unsure of what the possible prizes but I think 70809 Lord Business' Lair might be the top prize. Each scratch ticket is also a $10 off coupon at TRU good until March 15 so still worth trying to get these things. Just wondering if anybody won anything decent with these?

I was surprised not to see this but you all are likely aware of this sale since in Canada a 20% off is all we seem to get out of TRU. Wanted to get everyone's thoughts on Daily Bugle 76005. Seems this thing is disappearing and I have none. Do you think 20% might be the best discount on this one?

So it's been quite slow on the Canadian deals thread so I thought I'd post this: All Galaxy Squad sets 50% off, makes for good gifts if not for investment. Sept 27th, spend $100 or more and earn 30x airmiles. Free Geoffrey the Giraffe ($5.99 value) when you spend $30 or more on any Lego set (they say any, but it excludes Galaxy Squad...) Also bonus airmiles for buying other Legos but not worth posting.

This might be the first year that I have seen a really decent Black Friday deal north of the border on LEGO. I have no qualms about this set at 50% off (even if it is 50% off CAN retail...) It looks like in store you can get a free poly as well, and if you spend over $100 you get a $15 off $50 purchase for your next purchase. All in all, not too bad! In a perfect world I would grab two or three bundles of 4 each to get the $15 card. Also, the Creator Highway Pickup is a solid deal for Canada. Amazon.ca had them for $75 - this will be a nice savings. I'm not huge on them for investing, but I'd like to pick up one or two for my personal collec…

Hey guys, TRU.ca posted their flyer earlier. BOGO 50% on all City, Star Wars, and Super Hero sets. Hopefully that equites to about a 20% discount if you account for TRU inflation on some of the sets. There may be some retiring sets kicking around your TRU, so pick some up if you can!

Some hard to find/exclusives are 30% off this week, including the Millennium Falcon, AT-AT, Sanctum Santorum, and Jazz Club. A few of these have inflated prices or may only be for pickup. Yay LEGO!
