Just a thought. With all of the people buying the retired sets online, why wouldn't Lego produce a huge item?

  3. Had a wedding this weekend in Indy. The city is very compact and clean. There are many trendy stores, bars, and nightspots like theaters and concert halls. The odd thing was that no one lives in the city and the streets were empty until after 6pm. There are a few high-rises and office buildings, but nothing that is considered a condo or living complex. My niece has an office downtown and lives in Carmel, but told me that downtown is pretty ghosttownish since no one actually lives there. Anyway, they have a Lego Store, but we left before the rains hit and they were not open yet. I live in/near Chicago and have lived in Boston and San Antonia, and Indianapolis i…

The Atlantic Wire has just released a little narrative of the US government shutdown...in LEGO form! I think this does a pretty good job of explaining what the problems are, and how the government is "trying" to solve those issues. **THIS POST IS NOT MEANT TO SPARK POLITICAL DEBATE. ITS SOLE PURPOSE IS FOR HUMOR AND THE SAKE OF SHARING.** Thank you for your cooperation.

Once I was walking past a toy store and I saw a cat in front of it. I wasn't planing on going in but I decided to go check it out. It turned out there there were three death stars for $300 each. A couple weeks later I saw a cat in front of a different store I decided to go in and low and behold they had five helms deeps for $50 each. Always check stores with cats in front of them.

Hi everyone! I am attending school to get my Master's in Education. Currently, I have a project to interview a parent or a sibling of a special education student (they don't need to still be a studnet). I was wondering if there were any fellow brickpickers that would be able to help me out on this. We could do it via phone or email, whatever is most convenient. Also, I can give you a little background on myself and my class first, if you like. Thank you!

The Brick Fan is reporting that the recording of the Marvel Super Heroes Panel at the 2013 Comic Con is finally available! http://link.brightcove.com/services/player/bcpid16681868001?bckey=AQ~~,AAAAAAr7e30~,vihvuRVBQpNFbdXq-mJPiy5bq6kzgKag&bctid=2714796405001 (Apparently you can see the back of Tormentalous' (Allen Tran) head and phone in the video. Cool...?)

My HP C310 photosmart printer has suspiciously stopped working. I honestly believe the latest firmware push/update just bricked this thing. Needless to say I am in the market for a new printer. This printer will be used primarily to print shipping labels and the occasional pictures on photo papers. Any suggestions on what to get ?

Okay, so by "crafty" I'm not referring to those awesomely creative MOC-ers, nor those sneaky yet soulless resellers who like to take candy away from babies (kidding...) I'm referring to this! And this! How lucky those kids are to have such a crafty mom. Makes me want to break out the old crochet needles and start crafting up some brick-shaped granny squares.

Just an interesting article on making money from selling used LEGO bricks. Funny, I never really heard of the company.

Sorry if there is already a topic for this, but I coouldn't find one. I have never had a dark age, but I should probably have a Lego will to part out my collection among the Lego faithful in the event of one. ;)

A truly odd question for sure. Does anyone know of some places where you can create your own website for free (or close to)? It need not be fancy; just have some basic features and whatnot for personal use.

  18. Maybe not your dad, but an influential male in your life? My dad is a railway modeler and I've begun to recognise likenesses between us, mainly: we're both obsessed by something typically thought of as a boy's toy! I looked in his shed today - stacked with boxed up railway models - this shed is big enough to fit a car in. Is this just a male thing - the collecting? Or does it run in the family?

Thought I would try the board with a problem I am having with the new Bioshock game. I finally got around to getting this game and installed it. The game require steam so I had to go through the process of installing that too. Long story short, I go to run the game, the intro boots up with the 2k logo and just freezes. It runs for about 3 seconds before the game just stops. I get no errors just a frozen screen. My specs for my pc (which I upgraded to play this game) are: amd hd 7800 i5-3750 16gb ram win7 64 bit Does anyone have any ideas on how to go about trouble shooting this? I am going to update my latest graphics card driver but that most lik…

Ah, good old Harry Potter sets. I could spot an HP set from a mile away with those classic gray and dirty green coloring. Anyway, when I recently unearthed my old sets in this theme, I couldn't help but chuckle when I saw 4722- Gryffindor House. Honestly, what were they thinking when they made this? It does appear, however, that it is a set directly marketed towards the female crowd. From the cardboard backdrop to those crazy colors (A light purple baseplate!? AWESOME!) this whole set seems to scream "REPLACE YOUR BARBIES WITH ME". Heck, the set even comes with a fuzzy, little, yellow bedspread. I'm pretty sure this set didn't sell well when it…

I have been teaching English for 15+ years, and have found a few way to use Lego bricks in lessons, but it was not until I stumbled upon this site that I started really collected them. I am teaching a financial literacy class this fall, and I plan on using the ideas on this site as a basis for buying and trading stocks. I also buy Lego for my kids, but now I am buying much much more. I also sell lesson plan on Teacherspayteachers.com , and I cannot recommend the site enough for teachers looking to both buy and sell lesson ideas and manipulatives. Of course my own site www.anderchunking.com shows how I use that site and Minecraft to teach English. I hope to d…
