As the title suggests, is this normal? I've successfully imported all the sets from Brickset, where I've updated the ACM with pricing details, but none of the sets have any prices on them when they came over from Brickset.

Hello, I've added nearly all of my investing sets into BrickFolio, a really nice feature. Can I confirm the prices used are 'sold' prices and not 'going rate' prices, and if these prices are calculated from worldwide sales or those just is the USA? As an active buyer, and one who is keen to be a value buyer, I'm finding a discrepancy between the prices on BrickFolio and the prices commonly asked – somewhere in the order of 25-35% usually, but can be as high as 200%. Don't get me wrong, I agree that 'sold' prices are a much more valuable tool for valuations that asking prices, but that would depend on if it was country-specific data collection. In general…

I just joined Brick Picker and I am really glad I found this site. I have been collecting Lego for a really long time. When I get a new lego set I open it up build and put it on my shelf. I don't really play with lego. I really like lego but I mostly display, not play with it. As I was adding sets to my brickfolio I noticed that if I say that they are used the value on my sets go down. All my Lego sets are in right out of the box condition. Would my sets be considered New or Used?

I was looking at my Brickfolio and I was wondering what the different between Current Price and Market Value is in the brickfolio? It seems to use the current price when calculating your brickfolio value though.

I'm not sure which forum exactly this best belongs in, but here's my question. I've been beginning to enter my collection into my Brickfolio. (No simple task, mind you.) I'd barely started when a question arose: when entering the condition of the set (new or used) do I enter the current condition, or the condition it was in when I bought it? To give an example; I bought 6858 Catwoman Catcycle City Chase, new, unopened, for 15.99. I've opened it now, so it's used, but it was new when I bought it. Entering it into my Brickfolio now, do I mark it as new or used? Any help appreciated!

Maybe I missed it, but I was wondering if there is a spot on the brickfolio for when you sell something? That way you can keep track of profit and gain over time

I apologize if this question seems basic, but I can't seem to find the answer on your site. In regards to my Brickfolio Value, what is the difference between the larger, bolded number, and the "Approx:" number in smaller, italicized font? Is this the difference in known ticket price (in bold) and the current resale value (in italics) of my collection? Thanks

Can somebody clear up for me what this represents? It says "top performing LEGO sets on eBay over the past six months" But it seems like it's miscalculating the rankings? BrickIndex: http://www.brickpicker.com/bpms/brickindex.cfm 70752 is #1? This is still available for $7 on SAH. Is it taking the price of the lots it's included in? http://www.brickpicker.com/bpms/set.cfm?set=41017-1 - Selling much lower http://www.brickpicker.com/bpms/set.cfm?set=31023-1 - Negative CAGR? http://www.brickpicker.com/bpms/set.cfm?set=850889-1 - Selling much lower

I don't know if I should be posting in this thread, but I couldn't find any other remotely on topic. We all, more or less, use the Brickindex to check out which sets are top performers during the last 6 months. But I'm wondering if we could also see which sets are top performers in the last year, 5 years or from when they first showed up on the market. I already shared this idea with Ed. The main point would be to have an index where we could see the best sets over their lifespans and how well they appreciated. I bet there are a lot of people wondering how much did this and that set cost when they started selling and how much they are selling for today. Thanks …

DadsAFOL, I am going to hijack your initial post here to put what I had written up but couldn't post because I had no idea my internet just went down, but you still get the credit for finding it first Today, Ed and I are very happy to announce that the BrickPicker Price Guide now includes current pricing from BrickLink. This has been a request that we have been asked about MANY times over the past few years and there wasn't really all the much we could do. We asked and while there was interest, not much could be done with the old owners of the site. A few days ago, I received a note from the COO of BrickLink asking if we interested in moving forward with what can …

Who else thinks this is a great idea? I know a lot of people use Brickpicker from their smart phones and something like this would be really helpful and awesome! Not like Jeff and Ed aren't doing enough already but just throwing an idea out there.

A new way to earn Brickpoints and increase the quality and quantity of the site's content has been born: Article Suggestions. Here is how the process will work: 1- Members who don't have the time or simply don't feel like writing an article, but have a great idea for one, will post the idea in this thread. One of the mods will then add the idea to this first post, including who originally posted it. 2- Anyone who is seriously interested in writing an article based on any of the ideas posted in this thread will have the chance to "claim" the one they would like to write about. Basically, it is a way for those that don't have the time to add articles to the site to sti…

Hello, some of you might have noticed the new BRICKPICKER CHAT feature. Jeff and I are testing it out and seeing what kind of responses we get from members. We will operate it from around 12 PM to 12 AM (Eastern Time Zone) so that we can monitor it and see if warrants becoming a permanent site feature. Let us know what you think...and as always, behave responsibly and treat others the way would would like to be treated. Thanks...

Just out of curiosity, i decided to post this in order to get some more information since i have done a search through the whole forum and not find anything close enough. I have often seen other Brickpicker members having different 'Rank', for example i am a 'Brick Broker' and some others are 'Brick Manager' or 'Brick Picker'. TheOrcKing in his profile is a 'Chairman of the brick'. That being said, i would like to know how we members achieve these 'Ranks' and in what order are they achieve from? i believe i go from 'Brick Picker' to 'Brick Broker' so what is next? Regarding the Awards, i used to see them the last time on the old forums but not now in the new forums, may…

Jeff and Ed should rent out a building for the day and hold a BP Con. Anyone else for this? We could finally see what Ed Mack really looks like. (We'd go blind from over exposure to awesomeness!!) We could also bring sets to try and sell off to one another. Any input on how this can be even greater is welcomed. We really need to talk the Mack's into doing this!!!

I am creating this thread to start posting some updates or sometimes may solicit some feedback for the upcoming Brickpicker v4.0 update. Progress as been somewhat slow, but continuous for a while. It's funny that I just read the the post by Nathan over @ Rebrickable who just launched his 3rd update of the site. Kudos to him. I feel the exact same way. Actually, I think all developers are just a little bit nuts when it comes to expectations and timelines. This is not going to be an in-depth post, just a kickstarter post to give me a place to where I can go to to share my thoughts and ideas as well as to gather some from all of you. You may have noticed my new…

I just pushed the latest updates for the Brickpicker Forum App. The iOS version will take a few days to get to the Apple store and allow you to update, but the Android version looks to be live already. I think it is version 5.0.13. It is a big overall update for this device. If some people who use it on Android can try it out, please let me know how it's working. I don't really have a great device to try it on. I am using the iOS version now and it looks like its working great and they may have finally fixed many of the missing link problems that it has been having.

In addition to the various LEGO set reviews that we do on the site, Jeff and I will be giving the opportunity to Brickpicker members to add their opinions on each and every set in the database. The review section is something we have tinkered around with for awhile and we are still in the process of developing it. We would like to have your input into what is important to you when you look at a LEGO set review. Right now, it looks like there will be a basic template for you to check off various "bullet points." There will also be a section to add a paragraph or two of text that is your personalized opinion on the set. What we need from you is what you would like to…

I would like to bring one new feature of the update to the forefront...The BRICKPICKER MEMBER SET REVIEWS. In the upper right hand corner of the new LEGO Price/Set Guide Page there is a box that is marked REVIEW SCORE. This will be the area where the average for all member reviews is shown. There is a link in the box so that you can review any LEGO set once. Here are the specifics: ***The number shown on the Price/Set Guide page is based on the average score of all BrickPicker member scores. ***The BrickPicker member scores are based on ten different characteristics or qualities that are on a 1 to 10 scale, which is averaged to give a set review total of between 1 an…

Jeff and I have been getting a lot of private messages about improving the site. I would like give BrickPicker members a chance to help improve the site and give us some fresh ideas. As you know, we are always tinkering with the site and have some great stuff planned. The problem always is finding the time to implement these changes and improvements. Some things can be changed quickly and easily, others can take months or more. I don't want to give out too much information on future plans, but they will make the site much more social and interactive with other BrickPicker members and more custom and intuitive for the individual. No idea is too small...Please, this i…
