It was bound to happen... now it's my turn to ask you guys a question! I already have looked through the "what does your collection look like" topic and EB's sorting and storage topic etc., but what I want to know is if any of you store your collection by piece. I'm torn between keeping my sets as sets or putting them into a part collection (for reference Brickset said my collection is about 30K pieces, but there are a bunch of sets I didn't add so it is probably at 50K). Usually I have no more than 10 sets out for display and I've been wanting to do more detailed MOCs so I've been looking into sorting them into parts, but I'm sort of scared it will be a lot harder to bui…

This message has been posted 1 year ago, and I still do not see anything like that on ebay (for instance). Would you guys be ok to add this "VIB"(******/U) inside the description of your unsealed lego sales ? Instead of: write: The verification only concerns bags number (meaning the buyer may not receive a lego box full of small soldiers), so you can also add something like: Main pieces (wheels, sails, minifigures) have been checked. Little bricks can still be missing. If many of us use these "VIB" acronyms it will be help both sellers and buyers if it becomes a standard.

Which current sets or themes have the best price per brick? Is it usually non-licensed sets such as Creator?

What do you think, if anything, could ever top 10179 in price? I think whatever it was it would have to have an extremely large amount of pieces. Maybe if they did an insanely large modular of something of that nature? Anyone think anything could?

I have been collecting Legos for almost eight years now, and about one and a half years ago I went to a basketball practice, and saw there little kids trading their minifigs amongst themselves. The next practice my friend took his minifigs, and severely ripped off the poor little kids and their Legos. (Guess it pays off reading brick link religiously.) So the practice after that I decided to bring some of my figures to trade..... it was the start of something huge!! My brothers, friends, and everybody I knew that had Legos started trading, and I became one of the best, not to toot my own horn. (Just stating a fact) Right now in our trading group of around fifteen nerds we…

Maybe I missed this when it came out but it seems that Lego has fallen to 2nd place in the brand value rannking of 2016. Alleged price fixing and the veto against the Chinese artist are perhaps reasons for the decline whereas it´s clear that TFA has been good for DIsney. The beginning of the Lego backlash??? http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2016-02-01/star-wars-success-propels-disney-to-world-s-most-powerful-brand?_sm_au_=iMVwHJ1rRrD4JqMQ

As the title says, what new theme or licensed products would you like to see be released as LEGO sets? I would like to see a 'Military' theme based on vehicles, planes and weapons from around the world. I am always so impressed with the various MOCs I see based on that idea that I would enjoy mass produced sets coming to the market.

I assume this has been covered before but my quick search didn't result in anything useful. For my spring break, I am hoping to organize my sets. Right now they are just randomly put on shelves. I have an open shelf, I get a new set, that set goes on that open shelf. So I was wondering what is the best way to organize sets? Do most go by theme? Box size? I want to basically get everything organized and more streamlined.

I think this site should have a section within the brickfolio that shows you all of your mini figures. I have a ton of figures that are separate from my sets that I would like to put into the brickfolio and check the value.

Hi all! I went to the thrift store the other day and scored two bags of lego sets for my kids (some instructions included!) for $15. There was a full Star Wars set (Clone Trooper Battle Pack, 7913), a mixed up Lego Friends set (HELP!), a Ninjago set (Cole's Earth Driller, 70502), and a Chima set (Sir Fangar's Ice Fortress, 70147). I'm a little torn on what to do with them. I sorted them as best I could, but I was wondering - what do you normally do with partial sets? The Star Wars set and Chima set are the only ones that had the minifigures included, so I was wondering if I should try and complete the Chima set, or just give them to the boys for their 'extras'/'free …

One of our members LegoPodcaster runs a website www.netcaststudio.com/brick. There are a bunch of great Podcast interviews on this site with very talented designers as well as a great interview with Jason from The Brick Show. We had a great conversation with Josh and Matt (his co-host) and it probably could have continued for hours. I personally can't stand listening to myself, but there is some very good conversation here. Hopefully the information can help some you that are new to the world of LEGO investing. Let us know what you think and check out some of the other great podcasts on the site. http://netcaststudio.com/interview-with-jeff-and-ed-maciorowski/

Ok so here is my problem, I have 1 Haunted House and really want to open it but have told myself not to do it until I get another one to keep sealed. I'm wondering how long this set is scheduled to be around? Other similar priced items that are on my need list include: Arkham, r2-d2, UCS Xwing, Grand Emporium & Tower of Orthanc. Just wondeirng which ones are expected to be on their way out so I be sure to get them....Or am I just better off saying to hell with that and buy another Haunted House?

I bought a 5 kilo box of 1970's Lego for 68 euro, but I found that set 700.0 is in there. If I look online I find a picture of an house but no manual. Does any of you have one, or knows where to find one. Then I can make it complete, I miss maybe 5 or 6 pieces. Also found an electric train set with 60+ pieces of rails, switches, crosses and crossing in blue/white which I did not sort yet, set 332 only missing a door, 335, 200 in box, 275 in box, 150 in box, 271 in box, so good deal already Also anybody has a good way of undrying the rubbers of the wheels?

Whats the best way to store the boxes from the sets you have built/on display? Flattened? Or just break the seals on one end and store them assembled?

I am new to this site and I keep seeing references to people coming out of their dark age in the articles and forums. Can someone explain what is meant by that?

Short story that leads to my question for Ed or Jeff. When I first started this LEGO investing thing some of my purchases were not very investment based, therefore I have some sets that might be past their investment prime or never really had an investment prime really, just a few examples are The gungan sub from 1999 and the Jedi starfighter with hyper boost ring from 2007 (that might have a gold C3PO inside). My question is is it kosher to advertise items I want to sell on this forum? I really just don't like selling stuff on eBay, it eats up profit. Ed what is your rule on this?

OK, we all have stories of being in the store or having orders ready to go and then changing our minds. Or we sold one too soon that turned out to be a big winner. Not just, I wish I would have bought 100 UCS Falcons, but I had the box in my hand and decided not to buy. What's the big fish that you didn't reel in? I'm relatively new to the game, so my worst isn't that bad. Around Christmas, Barnes and Noble was running an instore 50% off sale on all toys, including Lego. I should have gone in and cleaned the place out, then gone to the other ones around town and cleaned them out. But I was super low on funding at the time so I only picked up a 4841 Hogwarts Express…

Hi everyone, I'm moving to a new house in a couple months, and looking for a more efficient way to store my collection. Right now i have most items in the brown cardboard boxes they were shipped in, but I'd really prefer to have them displayed in their Lego boxes - I really like the look that people's collections have. All those Lego boxes, so cool! No basement. Right now I have an attic with a full height ceiling, moving to a house with an abbreviated attic - ceiling maybe 4-5 feet at highest point. Anyone in a similar situation, or have a clever though on a way to store? Thanks! TNB

So, I have a few sets tucked away right now that are doing well but I keep eyeing to build for myself. Right now, the stacks are comprised of the Imperial Flagship, Fire Brigade and Shuttle expedition, I only have 3-5 of each but every time I think about opening one, I realize that in doing so, I am becoming a person who pays way over MSRP for EOL lego (a chump in my book!). Even though I bought the sets for under MSRP, the cost to me of opening and building it is the same as buying one at inflated secondary market prices due to the loss of sale. These are all sets that I bought extra of in order to build one or even two for myself but now that I am seeing how well…

Hi, I will be visiting Walt Disney World over the next couple of weeks and obviously one of my prime "attractions" will be the Lego store in Downtown Disney. Given that Lego is so much cheaper Stateside than the UK, any suggestions on what I should pick up? I reckon modulars or other boxes of that size won't fit in the luggage, so items smaller than that? Thanks! Gareth

I'm taking my son to Brickworld this weekend in Chicago. It's our first time. For you veterans out there - what is the best way to get tickets? I'd rather get in quickly than save $2 with Groupon. So what's the best way to obtain tickets (online or at the door) and get through admissions line quickly? Do tickets ever sell out? Thanks everyone!
