Building LEGO

After much consideration by our panel of judges, the winning name of the

Anybody figure out a pattern or logic to LEGO including extra bricks to new sets other than just providing a small bonus? I don't build alot and I don't open multiples of the same set to notice a pattern. Maybe the parting out people can indicate if multiples of the same set have the exact number and type of bonus bricks? Or is it truely random in what you recieve in any given set. Sometimes when building sets in the 1000 piece range or more I am sometimes amazed that I'll have maybe 20 bricks left over, though I'm sure I completed the model 100% completely, lol! I can't say for sure because I'll never take the time to do a brick inventory count. But small sets of 100 or…

I am about to embark on a massive building spree.....going to build 6 modular buildings - FB, GE, PS, TH, PC, PR For those that have built all of these, what order would you suggest building them in? I thought about just building them in the order they came out, but thought that maybe others have a better suggestion for the order in which to build these. Hi Brickpickers! I finished building the 2nd floor of my Pet Shop, but the maintenance guy is just about to paint the walls for remodeling. I want to redesign my 2nd floor, but have any of you created a design plan with more rooms, a bed, tv, etc as a MOC? Please comment or add pictures to this thread!

Just started building 10240-1 and found a piece from the stand that was basically flying around in the box and not in any of the numbered bags. Is this normal?

I have a lot of nice sets I would like to build, but at the same time I know that some of them would be worth a lot down the road. I would love to have 2 of each so I could build and keep, but my budget doesn't allow me to. What would you do if you were in my place and had the urge to build some of them?

For all the years of building and taking apart LEGO I've never owned or even used a brick seperator. Am I the only one? I'm sure it comes in handy for those flat plates but I've always managed to get by.

I'm building a Palace Cinema set, and noticed one item is in the box but the wrong color. Is this worth it to report to Lego and ask for a replacement? It's nothing special just a 1x4 piece in the box is a brownish one and according to the manual it should be black.

Lego has updated their minisite for The Lego Movie with a section called Create & Combine. Basically, it is an area for builds Lego has come up with that only use pieces from two different sets to make something new meaning it is quite easy to do these yourself. So far there is a total of six different designs, one of which is just instructions and a parts list. I really like minecraft lego and just bought myself 3 boxes of the "first night" I find this set has a lot of rebrickability There are so many nice landscapes you can build I have not got round to building them yet but I would like to see some of your custom builds on these sets. Picked this set up for $35 from Walmart and decided to re-create it as The Hulks Vegetable Garden. Let me know what you guys think?

It took me a whole lot of planning as well as an understanding of the full sized modular houses but I finally managed to come up with a design utilizing only the pieces included with the three Log Cabin sets I purchased. As it currently stands, it is not a true modular design. However, that can easily be remedied by placing this build across a 16x32 baseplate and inserting four 1x2 bricks with the Technic pin hole in the proper spots but of course that would have used parts not included in the original set(s) itself so they were omitted for this personal challenge of my own design. The last Lego sets I put together were in the early 80's (space sets). I haven't opened any of the stuff I've bought over the last two years, and don't really have the desire to.
