Any reason why Lego changed Star Wars set numbers to start in the 70000s? Will Ucs still start with 10***?

I was on Eurobricks earlier today and I came across these nice pictures of the new Summer 2013 Lego Star Wars sets. Looks like a great wave especially for Episode Two fans IMO. 6 of the 8 sets are remakes of previously released sets. Do you think these sets will do well or do you think most of these sets will flop on the secondary market when they retire? Link to the Eurobricks post.

Many of you don't care about Clone Wars, but there were a lot of good things Lego could have made from it. I would have liked to seen some sets from the episodes where Ahsoka is hunted down by Trandoshans and meets Chewbacca. We also needed a set with the clone commando Greggor.

I know this is related to another recent thread about Battle Packs, but I decided to post this as a new thread anyways. What does everyone think of: Old Republic Battle Packs with Sith Troopers and Republic Troopers, vs. Original Trilogy Battle Packs with Clone Troopers, Droids, Rebel Troopers, Storm Troopers, etc. Which do people think will do better once EOL? I came up with a reason why NOT Old Republic: since they are not in the movies, they have less publicity, and therefore are less recognizable to a 8 year-old boy walking down the toys aisle, as oppose to the Clone Troopers. Who doesn't recognize them on…

Do you guys think after the re-release of the UCS X-Wing and now the UCS Tie Fighter that a UCS Darth Vader Tie might be coming along in 2017?

Hi folks, first time posting here. I've been playing the reseller game for some time now and recently a weird situation happened. A few days ago I sold MISB 75095 Tie Fighter (which I bought few years ago from LEGO Shop at Home) and yesterday buyer sent me a message saying that there were no stickers and some plastic bags were dated 2011 while some were dated 2015 which is extremely weird considering the set was released in 2015. He sent me this picture: 88a707b1-a326-4f26-ae8a-595699011d46.jfif Unfortunately, I don't know whether the set is complete and the only real issue are the missing stickers. I wonder if this is possible or he's simply trying to find…

Depending on how how high these auctions go I think that this could be profitable. I would totally jump on it if I had the time to resale them, but at the present moment I just dont also the Wifey would kill me if I bought these huge boxes. She already complains that we dont have enough room (even when I bought a mandalorian battle pack) lol!! She will be singing a different tune when my sets EOL!!! http://www.ebay.com/itm/Factory-Case-of-90-Sealed-LEGO-STAR-WARS-Brickmasters-20018-20019-/221122196112?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item337be8f290 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Factory-Case-of-94-Sealed-LEGO-STAR-WARS-Brickmasters-20018-20019-/221122201850?pt=LH_DefaultDoma…

Hi All--First time poster, long time builder. Anyways the time has come to thin the sets and my brother mentioned I should pop over here and get some info before selling so I'm not leaving any money on the table. Here's the scenario I have a few sets I want to sell but am wondering: does it matter if there is no box? I have two UCS sets (xwing and tie interceptor from 1999) that have sat on a shelf but the boxes are long gone. Is it worth it trying to find a box? does the value plummet without it? I want to buy either the death star or if the wife approves--the super star destroyer. Which would you guys vote for as a fun set to build first and re-sale-ab…

So I was watching all three of the original trilogy in a row today and thought about several things: 1. Why were these three so much better than the newer trilogy? (If you don't believe this then why weren't they?) 2. What are a few things that make this series so great (or not great if you don't like it)? 3. What should they beware of doing in the new trilogy? 4. Do you think the new trilogy will be anything close to the original? 5. If you could pick one defining scene from the original series that sums up the movies or is the best part, what is it? Feel free to add questions or comments. My feelings. 1. There are a few reasons the newer …

http://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/lego-star-wars-yoda-1999-target-promo-154520284 We were talking about our childhood LEGO experience and how I have recently started to buy sets for investment purposes. A friend of mine mentioned he won this in a contest hosted by Target way back in 1999 - when Star Wars Episode I came out. He had to guess # of pieces in this set and he won it, was only off by 7 pieces. I was like wow, it could be worth something today. I doubt he plans on selling it (he had it for a long time), but we were indeed curious as to what kind of value it would be to a collector (theoretically). Any ideas how much this would be valued?

I was wondering what the feeling is regarding the last set of retired Star Wars sets and their investment potential. The pod race, republic frigate etc. While still readily available and not too high, would it be a mistake to grab up a few more?

I'm sure this is posted elsewhere but since I don't roam other forums here, I figure maybe some others here don't too. Lego online has started rewarded 20 VIP points per registered set. Most sets after 2018 have a QR code on the front of the instruction manual. Scan it with your mobile device's QR code app and log into the Lego site to register. I successfully registered 22 random SW's sets tonight. Mando's N1 Starfighter set would not resolve and I bought it new so no one else should have registered it already. Each set supposedly has a unique code so multiple sets could be registered. I have not gotten into battle packs yet to verify though. Adv…

As Star Wars Lego sets are among the more popular sets, Lego has recreated some of their older sets into newer models. For example, the Sandcrawler came out five years ago, maybe longer than that, became retired, and now a new design of the Sandcrawler has just been released in 2014. Would investing in the 2014 sandcrawler be considered a poor investment opposed to investing in a set which has no duplicate, such as the Death Star? Also after the the new 2014 sandcrawler, did the older model lose value as a collector can acquire the 2014 Sandcrawler for a cheaper price? I am aware that some collectors are interested in having all the sets, but maybe a fair amount of collec…

The first Ren shuttle is still available at RRP (in aus) 4 years post-retirement. Is that a useful gauge for the performance of 256, or is it the existence of 256 (which most people consider the better model) the factor suppressing 104's price?

Now that the Death Star is Retired in Europe, and Retiring Soon in the US, and Now Sold Out at every retailer. Everyone is wondering, how much difference there is in people's inventory compared to the poll in the MAIN death star topic. This topic is here JUST to compare inventory numbers, which may have shifted significantly from the old poll. Between the June 2015 panic and the now infamous RETIRING SOON turning into RETIRED in Europe and RETIRING SOON in the US it's possible brickpicker inventories may have increased quite a bit. However it's also possible many brickpickers that got in at 275-320 over the years sold during the $600 prices in June of 2015. Thi…

Hi all, So I was on you tube watching the Brick Queens review of the Lego Dark Side book by DK publishing. Towards the end of her quick review she showed the last few pages in the book, which depicts the duel between Darth Vader and Luke in Empire Strikes Back. She teased/mentioned that this could a screen shot of an upcoming new version of Cloud City Set for 2015? Not seen since 2003. Is she right? or was it just a MOC made for the book? here's the link

note: we can use this topic to save as the lego set placeholder for the rumored Slave 1 appearance in the film, "Rogue One : A Star Wars Story". Not much is currently known but a combination of being time for a non-UCS Slave 1 refresh and the picture below, tends to make many (including myself) believe a new version is coming. the pic below is from the "2016 International Toy Fair" in Nuremberg and written in German.

The imperial star destroyer has been rumoured since the start of 2017 to be next in line for the ucs remake treatment by lego. We've had the snowspeeder, Death Star and now alomist upon us (at the time of writing) the falcon. Given the box art on today's leak which shows an ISD shadow I'm the foreground a la the millennium falcon was in the Death Star remake box art, this would be a tell tale sign that We should expect an ISD potentially For next May the Fourth (coinciding with Han Solo film), hence starting this thread today. What one would expect is: 1) Similar dimensions to existing 10030 2) Significantly increased piece count, which would account for…
