I didn't see this posted on here yet, so I wanted to post a link to it. I thought this was very creative of LEGO to do and taught me a bit about the history.

  3. Yes I am a geeky Star Wars nerd and already watched the first episode early this morning. Will keep it short and sweet. I thought it was very good and look forward to seeing where they go with it. I am sure this thread will fill up with spoilers and episode discussion, so stay away if you do not want to get upset. I also thought Disney+ was well organized and put together. Looking forward to watching some other movies I haven't seen in a long time.

My wife and I were having a discussion about the new Wolverine movie and how it seemed as though he wanted to die but didn't know how. I said that Wolverine could jump into the ocean and that should effectively kill him because of the pressure under water should cause him to not only drown but explode. She disagrees. Any thoughts?

So has anyone heard of the Rainbow Loom, or better yet, tried it? I've seen it in my local supermarket as well as at Hallmark, and advertised elsewhere. Seems to be catching on like wildfire. Not sure yet if it's actually "selling out" at places like Michaels. I decided against getting one for my daughter because it looked a little too complicated for her age. I suspect someone gathered all the (now worthless) leftover Silly Bands, added a crochet hook, and is now laughing all the way to the bank.

Here is a little thing I found on another one of those random searches. It would seem way back in 1957, Lego actually did release a set that was a church! Admitedly, it is a very simple design out just a couple of years after Lego started selling their "Lego System" blocks but it is there. Then another year or two later, they re-released it although I did not see any changes from the original design. Now of course this was decades ago and the design is rather generic but still it is what it is; a simple house of worship. What do you think?

Ah, good old Harry Potter sets. I could spot an HP set from a mile away with those classic gray and dirty green coloring. Anyway, when I recently unearthed my old sets in this theme, I couldn't help but chuckle when I saw 4722- Gryffindor House. Honestly, what were they thinking when they made this? It does appear, however, that it is a set directly marketed towards the female crowd. From the cardboard backdrop to those crazy colors (A light purple baseplate!? AWESOME!) this whole set seems to scream "REPLACE YOUR BARBIES WITH ME". Heck, the set even comes with a fuzzy, little, yellow bedspread. I'm pretty sure this set didn't sell well when it…

I'm at a Homeschooling convention this weekend promoting my non-LEGO business. My booth features my RFID-controlled LEGO train, a perpetual crowd pleaser ... see a video below this post. Haven't really had the time to explore the convention apart from passing a few booths during quick restroom trips, but noticed the following booth (btw, these Homeschooling conventions are a rather Christian affair, so the theme of this booth is totally unsurprising): That poster reads "Jericho" btw, a brickfilm (you can see it being played back on the TV screen). Shortly after I had a nice conversation at my booth with a lady from Lawrenceburg, KY whose kids were interested in …

  11. An article about Legos in this week's New York Times Style Magazine: http://tmagazine.blogs.nytimes.com/2014/04/08/by-design-the-shape-of-things/ Enjoy! Some of my favorite quotes from the article (boldface mine): This summer, the author and artist Douglas Coupland will have an exhibition in Vancouver that will feature a suburb of 100 identical Lego houses, each one made from a 1969 kit that, he says,

One even looks like a Techniq car. http://jalopnik.com/the-ten-least-practical-street-legal-cars-ever-sold-1148236073?utm_source=Front&utm_medium=Recirculation&utm_campaign=morning My pics:

I watched this over the weekend on Netflix. Four episodes so far. Star Wars, Barbie, He-Man, GI Joe. All were fascinating on how these things got made. I think quite a large percentage of users on this site would get something out of it. If anything a fond memory of being a kid. I recommend it.

This is just a little tid bit of info for how I will be trying to keep my inventory organized. A lot of you have a closet or tucked away place where you store your sets out of carboard boxes. While this is great to see it's not so great for little prying eyes. Of which I have two sets to contend with. The storage closet where I keep my sets is locked most of the time, but it also has bikes and other outdoor toys in it for my boys. Just about all of the sets in this closet are in carboard boxes of varies sizes. Enough of the back story. I have created a pdf Label template to put on the outside of my cardboard boxes to help me keep track of whats inside ea…

  16. Did any of you catch the premier of The Yoda Chronicles on Cartoon Network? I haven't watched a show on that network (besides Adventure Time) in years. It was pretty good. There was a lot of blatant gag humor, which was basically for children. But there was some adult humor as well. For example, there was a running General Grievous coughing joke, which eventually involved an injury to his... well you know. It's definitely going to make kids want the Lego Star Wars sets!

My favorite out of all of these is the Bear suit guy, I was thinking like a Bomber type head piece just in bear shape, wouldn't that be AWESOME!!! I also think that the Hunter could be a good one. Just a list off the top of our heads...

  23. So I like toys and therefor have a crap ton of them at work. As you can see, I have some lego stuff, and a lot of dinosaurs. A lot of technic stuff as well. Problem is, some people at work (including my wife) think it is funny to play with my toys, which are for show and only for me to play with. What is the world coming to?

Let me open by saying that this is not really about investing, so I'll save your time if that is what you clicked for! I've already described my trading business in depth, but I'll give a quickish overview. Years ago I bought two Ziploc bags of old Lego for $4 from some girls I knew, and began trading it (along with pieces from my earliest sets) to friends. I went after Star Wars almost exclusively, but picked up odd pieces along the way. Over the years, I've made a ton of good deals, and grown my collection without trading a SINGLE minifigure from a set I received or bought new. I have about 300 or so figs, maybe 3/5 of which I got through trading. Now many of …
