(Please don't bring up politics because I don't want to start an argument among members here. Thank you.) The 6-year-old got detention for bringing a Lego gun on the bus. The bus driver claimed it caused a panic on the bus among the students after a kid told the bus driver about it. The principal later watched the surveillance tape and there wasn't a commotion at all. The kid's detention was later canceled. I think the school administrators overreacted about this considering it wasn't a real gun or an airsoft gun that could be mistaken for a real gun. It gets to a point where it's over-the-top IMO. What do you guys/gals think? Did his punishment fit his crime/act…

I have been teaching English for 15+ years, and have found a few way to use Lego bricks in lessons, but it was not until I stumbled upon this site that I started really collected them. I am teaching a financial literacy class this fall, and I plan on using the ideas on this site as a basis for buying and trading stocks. I also buy Lego for my kids, but now I am buying much much more. I also sell lesson plan on Teacherspayteachers.com , and I cannot recommend the site enough for teachers looking to both buy and sell lesson ideas and manipulatives. Of course my own site www.anderchunking.com shows how I use that site and Minecraft to teach English. I hope to d…

Do you thing that this and other secondary market LEGO related sites have people from TLG that are "undercover" to see what is going on? Maybe to see what the trends are? Just curious.......maybe that is why the DS will never EOL, because we (well me) are always talking about it lol. I am sure they have people that browse the sites, but to go as far as one of them creating a profile and interacting with us....who knows???

Not sure if this is allowed here, but I entered a video to win a trip to the Sochi Olympics and was wondering if I could get you guys to vote for my video? Trying to get as many votes as possible until deadline. Just click on "Vote for This" underneath the video on the left. You can vote daily until November 27th. Thanks, I appreciate it! https://www.youtube.com/samsungcanada?x=ca-en_youtuberesponsive_92_

Once I was walking past a toy store and I saw a cat in front of it. I wasn't planing on going in but I decided to go check it out. It turned out there there were three death stars for $300 each. A couple weeks later I saw a cat in front of a different store I decided to go in and low and behold they had five helms deeps for $50 each. Always check stores with cats in front of them.

To start with, I typically stay away from political topics but I think people should hear about this malarkey. Assault on the First Amendment: Joe Biden endorses a tax on blood and gore - WashingtonTimes Vice President Sees No Legal Hurdles in Enacting Sin Tax on Violent Media - GamePolitics Biden: No legal problem with taxing violent games - Gamespot I would add something of an opinion here but I am really in the middle of something else that needs attention.

So my LEGOLAND has a rule that you have to have a child with you to enter the park. While I see the safety precaution behind this....what about the AFOL who wants to go but has no kids....seems a bit discriminatory. Thoughts??

Had a wedding this weekend in Indy. The city is very compact and clean. There are many trendy stores, bars, and nightspots like theaters and concert halls. The odd thing was that no one lives in the city and the streets were empty until after 6pm. There are a few high-rises and office buildings, but nothing that is considered a condo or living complex. My niece has an office downtown and lives in Carmel, but told me that downtown is pretty ghosttownish since no one actually lives there. Anyway, they have a Lego Store, but we left before the rains hit and they were not open yet. I live in/near Chicago and have lived in Boston and San Antonia, and Indianapolis i…

Time for a 2015 Comic Con thread. Suppose I should have posted this earlier as a place for news, both Lego and non-Lego. There's been ton of news, so I'll try to get things consolidated here. Please feel free to post things that i miss. There's the SW Lego reveals coming on Saturday. Until then, this the first big piece of news: LEGO Scooby-Doo and LEGO Idea The Big Bang Theory (21302) available at SDCC 2015 I will be there Thursday, Friday, and Sunday. I will take some photos. I'm sure there will be plenty online as well. But I'll let you know what I see, and what I might be able to pick up.

I stayed up and at 12:01 I refreshed the lego site page and saw the discount. I immediately put in the required info and now I've got a B-Wing, Han Solo and poster on the way for 104.00. I'm so excited about this investment opportunity.

Hi community, It's been around three months since I last visted this site (work + a different business venture took my time/interest). However, since I found a few lego bargains at my local stores a few days ago, my 'brick' high has occured once again. In lack of a better sub forum to post such a thread, I put this in the Odds and Ends. Please move this to a more appropriate sub forum if warrented. I'm getting back into the lego business, I'm going to start up a lego store website focused around selling minifigs in the near future. I'm fully aware this will be a difficult task to pull off at first due to the nature of things (getting viewers and a custom…

So I am looking into getting into this in my area. I'm sure there are members here that are also LUG members. I know a while back LUGs were brought up and a member who is no longer member here was acting like LUGs are some exlusive super secret underground club. Looking at a LUG chapter website in my area, it doesn't seem that way at all. Any experiences you would like to share would be helpful. If any of my Texas peeps want more info just let me know.

Hello everyone! I am a student of anthropology and museum studies at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis - and fellow fan of LEGO! I am researching AFOLs, and was hoping to get some thoughtful responses from you, the true fans! It's very simple! I am interested in knowing what reasons any of us have for building with LEGO! Maybe its just a creative outlet? Maybe its more? Your responses would be very much appreciated! Thank you for your time!

The answer is 37,112 times! A man built a contraption to test how many times two bricks could connect until they stopped connecting. It took him 10 days before they stopped connecting to each other. Link. This guy should now figure out how many licks it takes to get to the Tootsie Roll center of a Tootsie Pop. "The world may never know."

It's that time of year, when you do something nice for someone else, to be generous, to say thanks and take time to appreciate what you have and what you can give. None of us would be here taking advantage of one of the best resources of our new found hobby in LEGO collecting/investing if it weren't for two brothers, our fearless leaders, Jeff and Ed. If you'd like to send them a little Holiday gratitude Pm me. mods: if there's a more appropriate place for this post please move it and add a stickie while you're at it.
