Lego Displays

Lego creates some of the most beautiful displays. Do you have any in your collection?

  1. Hello all, Just got a nice Friends store display from ebay for my girls. The batteries seem to be dead and I am trying to figure out how to replace them. Here is the auction link for reference. The battery compartment seems to be on the bottom with wires running up the rear to the top lid. (by the way the top lid arrived cracked, any idea where to get a replacement?) The wires disappear into the bottom so I definitely have to access the bottom interior. Any advice would be appreciated. I'm fairly mechanically minded but this thing has stumped me.

A couple of weeks ago a small toy store here in town ("here" meaning in Germany) went out of business, because their lease wasn't renewed at a bearable rate. When they had their final sales I went to pick up some Lego, part for investment, part for my collection, I stumbled across a bunch of display cases with price tags on them. Last year I had asked the boss at their head store (they belonged to a very small chain) what happened to these cases if they were replaced and he told me they (the cases) were going back to Lego and they (the store) were not allowed to sell them. Looks like this either changed (unlikely) or they didn't care anymore. Bottom line: I p…

Hello all. I recently was as lucky as getting a lego display of the 8070 Super Car. I'm trying to collect information on how much of a worth it has and how many lego has shipped (i suppose it's not that many cos it is lego technic and a pretty huge thing). Can anybody of you guys help me out here? I attached a few pics also

Here is the sold listing for that $12,500 10179 Millennium Falcon. I believe the seller is a member here. Maybe he/she can give us some interesting information on the subject.

Hi, all: I was at the Electronic Entertainment Expo out here in L.A. last week. Warner Bros.' game studio folks were there with demos, and some very cool displays! Just had to share. (Didn't know where else to put it besides the Displays section, but please feel free to move to a more appropriate section as applicable.) Cheers!

  10. Has anyone ever tried to buy the minifigures from the displays that places like Target have in the LEGO aisle? The display that I am talking about is the one that showcases all of the minifigures for a particular line like Super Heroes or Monster Fighters. I don't know what the stores do with these once they don't need them anymore and was curious if anyone has ever tried to buy them and was successful.

Hi guys, Picked up this one today off a local classified website: IMG_0549 by slobey79, on Flickr It may not be as fancy as the displays they have today but this is the way the displays were when I was a kid staring longingly at the new cool sets that were out :-) I haven't bought this for investment but out of curiosity anyone know what it would be worth?

So I am in Toys R us and they have this amazing display with The droid escape, Jabbas palace and the desert skiff. I ask to speak with a manager and ask her what they do with the old displays once they put up the knew ones? I know they are supposed to destroy them but just wanted to see what she would say. She told me that they have dozens of them just sitting in the back because no one who works there has the heart to destroy them or throw them in the dumpster. (Time to turn on the charm). After making some small talk I asked so what if you were to "throw them away and someone like myself: f was to drive past the dumpster and stumble upon them. She caught on to what I wa…

These 6 LEGO displays from the San Diego Comic Con several years ago were very limited in supply. Each display was 1 of 300 and there were 6 different displays, each with different minifigures and backrounds. This seller has all 6 for sale at once...A COMPLETE SET!!! Nice find... SIX SDCC STAR WARS DISPLAYS...COMPLETE SET!!!
