When I was looking at the pictures on SatH I was questioning if the Parisian Restaurant is to be considered a corner building. Cause if you put it in between the pet shop and grand emporium the terras on the back is not visible anymore. Am I right? Anyone who has the Parisian Restaurant experience this? It is just beautifully designed building with plenty of character in it. I am a professional designer and convincing senior managers such as board members etc. that business should try different ideas is always a challenging task, sometimes impossible. Saying that i appreciate and like the fact that the building has been designed differently which sets it apart, while not being a corner building. It is very three dimentional, which is fantastic. Look at the Town Hall, great facade but sides and back are quite dull... The PR Is probably in the top three most successfull modulars. weakside Posted September 23, 2014 Share Posted September 23, 2014 I was thinking of picking up the PR too at the next 3x vip if it happens before Xmas or a killer polybag I can't resist. the PR would look great beside the CP as dinner-******-movie spot (stand alone)... than across the street or pedestrian walk way you can have GE, PS, etc etc. I separated the two PS builds to make my little street look better imo. One of the shortest modulars next to the tallest ones just doesn't work scale wise even though the other sets are still quite tall. Colour/theme wise the PR would probably work much better next to the green grocer when you get your hands on one. Town hall and fire brigade next to each other would make the most sense to me also. Main thing I just wanted to show that despite PR has the second most parts, it still is annoyingly small. Color wise indeed it would be a nice match next to GG. And there is alot to love about PR but what did you think about the ground under the terrace. That had me puzzled somewhat. (okay since you are new and noob is for newbie okay okay... but in this context it sounds like you mean indiscriminated) If somebody would sell me the new slave I for 1/2 price I'd go for it no matter how new it is and how many the do produce. I guess LEGO modulars are just like real life buildings: Different hights and different ages. Nothing wrong about it. Also you can align them as you like, nobody hinders you from just putting a small street between two buildings (e.***. PR and TH). I know I know, LEGO city streets are supposed to be safe all the time, but the TMNT need an alleway to fight crime in secret. (And those smaller criminals who cannot afford a place in the TH, the Bank or the Casino also need places where the can rob your everyday citizen). Nice pics, I was under the impression that the PR was smaller than the other sets but the TH is just that much bigger. That's kind of silly on Legos part. You would think they would keep the same footprint or a multiple (x1/2, x2,x3) of it to keep it truly modular. Even though the modulars are pretty much the sets that are closest to true minifig scale, they are still not perfect. How many cinemas do you know that can seat 6 people? I have tried many and they all look pretty good (I have all except for GG). You are right, PS is a great pairing with it. But also what amazes me, even though its the newest and goes a bit in a new direction it looks the best between the first ones, Cafe Corner and Market Street. I built off online instructions and they look black but have seen some videos where they are dark brown. I was shorted the pieces so I need to order them, but unsure which color they are.
