I experienced a few bad ebay purchases with lego box either mild, moderate or severe damage from sellers missed the small tears/damages but claiming mint condition, poor packing skill in spite of request of protecting the lego box well.... Now, another stupid experience ..."open box new". It came down to my mistake anyway when bidding on some set recently. On the listing, the seller categorizes the item "new", meaning the item "new, unopened, unused, undamaged.." but tricky part is in their "detailed" description, "open box new"....another unique term the sellers come up with. Surely, I should have read it thoroughly but first time ever, I missed this one because…

Hi guys, I want your opinion. There is a guy on Bricklink selling some old sets I want complete with boxes for a resonable price. Catch is he has zero feedback. Looking around at his store nothing else really throws any red flags up nevertheless the feedback(or lack of it ) concerns me. Does paypal offer protection if it is not an ebay transaction? keen to hear what others think..........

I wanted to get some discussion/insight on what happens to sets that are reissued. What happens to the original set? When a set is reissued, is there less demand for the original set? I bring this up since most of us collect Star Wars sets and many of them are reissued. Either as a similar set or a complete overhaul. Sets like the Millennium Falcon or the more recent, Jabba's Palace, have been reissued. A close look at the original Jabba's Palace as showed a decline over the last couple of months. Is this a common trend? Thoughts?

I know a lot of us probably got LEGO for friends or relations for holidays or birthdays, but in many cases it's because they asked for something specific. What did you pull out to give away because you couldn't resell it during the holidays? For me personally, I couldn't think of what to give my nephew, so he's getting 75102 Poe's X-Wing Fighter and 75111 Darth Vader. I should never have bought the Vader. I had no confidence in the line, I personally hated the constructible figures, but I listened to how it was going to be so in demand this holiday and got stuck with everyone I bought to QF. My friend's kids will be getting some Elves sets I got on serio…

Greetings: Are any of you renting a storage locker for your sets? I'm contemplating it as there is one right up the street from me, but I don't really like the idea of it eating into my profits

I was wondering if any MOC vets know this. Was just curious if any of the websites can show sets that use a lot of pieces per a certain color, like sand green, etc? I know BL shows you which sets per year use certain colors, but was wondering if any dove into percentages of color so you could sort for the sets with the most.

I am looking for a site that can help identify lego sets without their instructions or set numbers. For instance, if I type in "yellow car" it gives me a list of all lego sets that might resemble that set. I know of several sights like this for other toys but cannot find one for lego. Does one exist?

I often see sets that are complete with instructions in very good condition, but without a box. How does that affect the value of a set?

I recently purchased the City Passenger Train (7938) with a slightly damaged box for a great price. After reading the recent article concerning box conditions and resale value I'm tempted to hold on to this set for possible future sale, but I'm curious what others think about investing in sets that contain technology (ie: battery boxes, motors, etc)? Bricks never go out of date, but engines? The price/brick on 7938 is most likely higher due to the Power Functions inclusion, so if the technology falls out of favor then the price/brick would take a hit. I know 9v trains are still highly desirable for some collectors, so there's an example of an older technology hol…

I was just at Walmart yesterday and found yet three more polybags that were exclusives elsewhere! Plus one I don't think has even been released before! I found these on top of the area where they have "The Hobbit" sets in the middle of a main aisle away from the other LEGO sets. (If I wasn't so dang tall I would have never found these! Whose the dumbass that thought this was a good idea?!) CREATOR - "Helicopter" (30181) I've checked Bricker, Brickset AND Brickipedia! No one has anything on this one! CITY - "Mining Dozer" (30151) First available in Poland as a freebie with the June issue of the "Rajdek" children's magazine. Then in the Netherlands as a promotional item f…

How popular do you think a LEGO chess set would be if you blended themes? For example a LEGO Star Wars with a Lord of the Rings, Vikings vs Knights, Bionicle vs Hero Factory. Anything really. I just think it would be great to see a box with multiple branding and all those different minifgure types.

In the wake af the B-wing discount and a few people having what seems to be buyers remorse, if you could choose one set to discount for 50% what would it be? It can only be current sets, not upcoming or retired sets. I'm curious because there are so many ways people could go with this. Collectors would likely have a much different answer than investors. As an investor, I would love to see the Horizon Express at 50% off. Getting an almost guaranteed EOL winner at 50% off would be great. I bet there will be a lot off SSD responses...and not a bad choice either.

Has anyone else had an undelivered item returned to you without hearing from the intended recipient? I've just received a package I sent out in early November that has apparently traveled the world for the past 2 1/2 months before arriving at my doorstep. Wouldn't the intended recipient realize they hadn't received it and sent me a message?!

I'm piecing together my 6286 set (Skull's Eye Schooner) that I bought nearly complete. I've taken it apart, cleaned it, inventoried it, and have purchased the seven small pieces needed to complete it. Now, when I list this on Ebay, do I: 1. Rebuild the set, take pictures and list it, then a: take it back apart to ship b: ship as a built set 2. Don't rebuild the set, and use stock pictures, and ship in pieces I don't have instructions. Is it worth the cost of purchasing instructions, simply in order to sell "with instructions"? It's a pretty cool set and I may just end up keeping it, making all of these questions a waste of time.

I have a lot of sets that I have out together and my kids enjoy playing with them as we'll. I was wondering if it would be a smarter investment to take the sets that they no longer play with, sell them and purchase a new sealed set in its place. I have saved all the boxes and in most cases the stickers were never applied and are in excellent condition. Any advice is welcome! Thanks
