I understand this may be asking much, but is there an all-time lego checklist available anywhere on the web? I understand that BrickPicker has it by year, but is there a complete list of all lego sets in one?

I just received my yearly statement from my Salomon Smith Barney mutual fund account. I put $5000 into it a little over 5 years ago and it it currently worth $4300. If I invested $5000 in "average" Lego sets 5 years ago and they increased about the average 10% annually that the basic Lego set usually appreciate, I would have Lego sets valued about $8000. Stocks suck.

Hi guys! I have been reading through all the great material here, and if I missed where this question goes let me know. The last couple of weeks since joining here I have been visiting my local Target. Today I noticed that they had separated out their Lego products by theme. The Lego Movie and Scooby Doo were placed far away from the more popular Super Heroes and Star Wars themes. I wondered if perhaps this was a sign that I go ahead and add a set since possibly these were going to be retired soon, or if it was just because these sets are not as popular anymore. My main interest and focus is the mini figures, and I noticed after comparing Lego Movie 70817 B…

I look at the number of sets released just in the past month and I wonder how anyone can keep up. I have looked around on the Internet and it appears that the number of different sets that have been released over the past few years has increased with every year. My question is this, how will it play in the secondhand market. On the plus side EOL will come faster to make room for new sets. This will make it so not as many people get them when they are on the shelf thus increasing value. Also because there is more variation every investment won't have a copy of every set, so the number in the second hand martlet will be lower. On the negative side if there are tons of…

If you notice sets that seem to be retiring soon (not being restocked in stores etc.) or any good sales please reply to this topic with the news. So to start the topic off I've noticed that 6862 Superman Vs Power Armor Lex seems to be disappearing off shelves. I would highly recommend this set for investing since it includes the first Superman, Wonder Woman and Lex Luthor all of which are exclusive and is quite cheap considering the potential return.

I was hoping someone would write an article on how to use bricklink...but no luck yet. I am very confused..there has to be an easier way. My current situation..... I need 4 reddish grills and 2 1x8 reddish bricks for an mtt Need a trans blue fire for the potter ship, as well as a mag glass, and some light blue tiles and bricks. Is the best way to find one vendor for all parts to create a want list..then shop that? Seems like it takes forever to create a want list. Is there a huge vendor that many of you use and can suggest for my issue? I don't care about price..but would prefer us seller. I ended up using toyburg for this order...and one other smal…

So I noticed that for the Speed Champions Dodge set and Architecture SF set, the shelves at Target, Walmart, and Amazon have recently (Feb 25th) been re-stocked after these sets became scarce shortly after their initial release in Jan. Also they quickly reached approximately 15% off at all three retailers. I also remember back in July the Hogwarts Train became scarce and then by October the shelves have been fully stocked ever since. To the experienced vets here; does all this sound familiar or have you found it too difficult to predict re-stocking schedules.

Lego might have had either luck, or insider information - most likely the latter: there seems to be a minecraft movie in the works. Who is producing it? Roy Lee. Who is that? Well - you have heard about the Lego Movie, did you?

I have this three story townhouse I got four years ago and would like to know the price I could sell it for. I'm a sophomore in high school and have no need for legos, I am saving up for a Wacom manga and comic tablet. I got this four years ago for about 60 dollars. I assume it is worth much more now. It is fully intact except for the small tree house that was supposed to be in the yard. It easily broke when I tried to play with it, it was a poor design. The only other thing that's missing is a part of the fence, and tree that is due to my baby brother.

There is a recent thread about what sets you just don't buy. Sort of along those lines, let's say you are not a fan of a specific theme or a set in a theme, is there a magic cutoff discount that will make you buy regardless? For instance, around here, the Hobbit Mirkwood Spiders sets are $10-15. I wasn't really a fan of this set, but I decided to pick up a few at $10 because 66% off seemed like a great deal. Still, I didn't load up on them even though I could have... Another set I'm not really that excited about is the Hobbit Goblin King set, but I have a strong feeling this set will be marked down to 70% off ($30), I'm wondering if I should just pick som…

I purchased a lego haunted house online to put away for investment purposes, but it arrived with a corner of the box damaged and a crease down one side. I already owned a haunted house which box is in perfect condition that I built and displayed. Should I transfer the contents of the damaged box to the better box? Or leave as is in the damaged box with seals intact? Which way would I receive a better resale value?

Awhile back I wrote a post on Lego trading (with minifigs). Read all of this, because it ties together Lego Trading and Lego Investing. I recently went to a Lego store at my local mall and noticed all the minifigs the shop owner had. Asking him how he got all of them, he responded "Lego Trading". I asked him if he would take some of my figures for anything, and of course he said yes! So the next week I brought some of my mini's.... he gave me two sealed Bionicle sets worth around $50 and a Darth Maul worth around fifteen. The figs I traded to him were a couple of the cheap Captain Jacks, three rock monsters worth around twelve bucks, about 9 of the minifigure series minif…

Not trying to be overly religious here, the website GODSBRICKS.blogspot.comshows some really fantastic religious MOCs. They could be a real money maker for Lego if sold in mass quantities. Thoughts?

Here is a list, from the website www.Brickset.com, of the highest selling Lego sets of 2011 (involving 'total revenues,' not units sold) from the Lego magazine, Lego Life: 1. 7498 Police Station 2. 7965 Millennium Falcon 3. 7913 Clone Trooper Battle Pack 4. 7929 The Battle of Naboo 5. 8547 Mindstorms NXT 2.0 6. 7914 Mandalorian Battle Pack 7. 2507 Fire Temple 8. 2260 Ice Dragon Attack 9. 7288 Mobile Police Station 10. 4842 Hogwarts Castle Notice the CITY sets, 7498 Police Station and 7288 Mobile Police Station, on top or close to it. Must be a lot of kids want to be cops. From an investor's standpoint, CITY sets, while very popular, might not always be the be…

Investment strategy? When I started the investment/flipping side of things I got a seperate paypal just for Lego. This way all the funds were self contained and if my hobby was paying for itself, I could buy whatever I wanted without the wife freaking out. So...my current strategy is sell $100 worth of sets I probably shouldn't have bought for $200 (or as close as I can) and then buy an exclusive with the proceeds. I must be an addict because every time my paypal balance gets respectable, I buy more lego. I will eventually hit capacity of the closets at the house, but until then....I'm trying to load up the account so I can make the bigger quantity purchases.

I have purchased my first lot of sets from a Craigslist seller. He had several boxes that he had saved. My question is, how much value does a box add to a used set? Or is it even worth keeping them? These sets are not that sought after, so I'm not sure what to do. Thanks for the help JB

The LEGO Group announced in a Press Release that their sales for the first half of the year "exceeded" their expectations, due in part to the Friends and Ninjago themes, which had stellar sales: The LEGO Group concludes the first half of 2012 with another very strong set of interim accounts. Net sales for the period were DKK 9,134m compared with DKK 7,355m for the same period last year

Is there a point in most homes.....where the parents and kids say f-it-throw out all their lego boxes an instructions, drive to walmart to get a big bin and throw all there sets in and mix it up like they are kneading bread? I realize not everyone is neat...nor a collector....but stuffing 30 to 40 different lego/themes in a single tote without box nor instructions? Decided to dabble into craigslist a bit again as we are on vacation this week...wanted to do some hunting in other states...but my head hurts. Between the month old ads not removed...ghosts....no call backs or emails...people not giving pics or set numbers...or even a damn theme?! Blah
