Hi, What are good 2018/2019 exclusive sets to buy now as an investment for later? I like multiple sets like the Bugatti Chiron (42083) or Y-Wing Starfighter (75181) but are these smart investments for later? What are thing to look at and what type of sets are not overproduced? How can you recognize good sets? ?

  3. This October the "Lego world" fair is in Utrecht, the Netherlands from the 16th till the 22nd. I am seeing all kinds of exclusive sets being sold at comic cons and the fan expo in Canada. What I am looking for is news for possible exclusives being offered during the logo world fair in Utrecht. If anyone heard anything please mention so here! Thank you! 4. For example, with Wal-Mart clearing out most of their LOTR and Hobbit stuff, is this the end of it on the shelves at Wal-Mart, or do they bring back the sets at the Christmas season? It seemed to me like some the LOTR/Star Wars sets were discounted heavily after Christmas 2012, and then the same sets appeared back on the shelf in early spring, and are again being discounted now. How/Why does this method work as a retailer?

Some of you probably remember that I and some other members ordered some Monster Fighters Zombie sets from Export Prive at the beginning of January 2013. My order went in on January 2, 2013 and I got the package in today, came from Korea. Package was packed VERY NICELY--much better than even the ones I get from LEGO Shop at Home. The 6 Monster Fighter Zombie boxes are all in great shape and were backed in bubble wrap--one has a small crease on the front but that's it. In the end, the 3 week wait was a long one but I was able to track the package the whole way from South Korea over that entire period. I would have no hesitation ordering from them in the future…

So now that all of the hoopla over the Crawlers and BTTF DeLoreans is finally starting to die down, this question can finally be asked. What other set released on August 1st do you think will be a real winner someday? Which set are you dying to have for your own collection?

Hey Everybody, Up until now, I have always heard about good clearance prices, but never actually found any. Today I went to my local Target to look for the new Batman sets. Naturally they were out of them. This particular Target is disappointing about 95% of the time. I hung my head and started to leave the LEGO aisle, when I noticed a clearance sign below the SpongeBob sets. ***Disclaimer - This will not be very exciting for most.*** They had five of the 3817 Frying Dutchman sets left, and they were on clearance for $9.98 each! That is pretty darn good for a set that retails for $24.99. I bought three of them, one for my kids, two to sit on. So the point of…

I knew it! All along I have been very outspoken about how I believe that Lego's "Retiring Soon" tag was a load of garbage to boost sales on slow moving sets. I always maintained that the tag was "conveniently" omitted from being included on sets that people actually want. Tonight, I got my proof... 6858 - Catwoman's Catcycle City Chase has been "Temporarily out of stock" forever now. Some time today, the status went from that directly to "Retired Product." Where was the "Retiring Soon" warning??? Nevermind the fact that this set has been out for about a year and nine months, there still should have been a tag on it if it was about to retire. For the reco…

  13. Greetings fellow pickers! As I mentioned in my introduction post, my Lego fever began running rampant last year when my nephew dug out my old Black Monarch castle last year. I decided I'd purchase a large lot and begin collecting again. I bought a 20lb. lot of assorted colors from eBay. After sorting through and figuring out what I had, it turns out that I had about 80% of set 6210 (Jabba's Sail Barge) and about 40% of set 6209 (Slave I 2nd Edition). None of them came with the minifigs, but I did eventually track those down. I was mortified at how much the minifigs were. That being said, these are 2 iconic sets, and I have them proudly displayed on my desk at …

  15. I'm about to make a substantial purchase from a local ad that to me seems like a fantastic deal. However, if anyone can take a few minutes to let me know of the things I absolutely need to check for before walking away and handing over my money, please let me know. I don't think the mini-figures in this case are a huge hurdle as there is no way I'll ever know if the right one's are included or not, except for the Dragon. Here are the set numbers 3178, 3179, 3180, 3222, 3366, 3367, 3815, 3818, 3833,4200,4201,4202,4203,4204, 4206,4206,4208,4431,4432,4433,4434,4435,4436,4439,4441,4641,4642,7207,7239,7286,7636,7638, 7639, 7641, 7744, 7747, 7848, 7942, 8402, 9440, 31010…

  17. By the time you pay for packaging, postage etc have you made good profit? What Lego item made you the most profit (you don't have to say how much if you don't wish to)? What do you think are the modern equivalents of Cafe Corner, UCS Millenium Falcon etc?

For the love of LEGO. This is listed on craigslist. Sure hope its not a scam. Do you have spare/unwanted LEGO minifigures? Unwanted/Duplicates of LEGO mini figures all shapes and sizes. My son is a little Autistic. He loves his LEGOS. He rarely thinks of others and has difficultly with empathy. He is very excited for Valentine's Day and wants everyone in his class to have a LEGO mini figure. He has already gone through all of his mini figures and picked out several to give away but he does not have enough for everyone in the class. I am willing to buy them off of you. I am looking for any mini figures you do not want or have too many duplicates of. If the pric…

I was intrigued by quite a few foriegn LEGO sets. Does anyone have any advice into international LEGO purchases, or if they are even a good investment? I have yet to attempt to acquire a foreign set but would love to get any feedback on the topic.

Hi! I am cleaning out my aunt's house and found that she saved every single Lego set that my cousin ever owned. All of them are still in their original boxes, and almost all of them have their original instructions. I am going through them one by one to make sure every piece is where it belongs but this is going to take forever. I also found some boxes that have never been opened. Is ebay the place to go to see those? I have Space system sets 6803 (Space Patrol), 6822 (Space Digger?) and set 6701 (6 Space mini-figures) that are still in their unopened boxes. There's probably more but I have gotten through all the storage boxes yet. Any advice would be appreciated! T…

  21. So I didn't know this - and maybe it shouldn't have been this way - but my store told me the christmas PAB boxes were given out for every 75$ you spend, not 1 per purchase. I got 4! So now my delimna is - I don't know crap about single bricks. I am totally a set guy. Mine are going to probably be for resale, but for those of you who are experts, what should those of us looking to just offset the costs of what we bought to get them buy? - What colors? Easy to sell? etc. I was thinking about getting the bigger bricks in a weirded color. The way the box is set up, I bet you could fill one pretty well. I am sure EightBrick has a way to get 300 in…

Often when you buy from LEGO Shop at Home you receive a freebie set or poster etc... Do people tend to keep these or put them straight on to Ebay to offset the cost of the set you are buying. I have done both: The Fire Brigade I bought (at RRP!!) came with a Mini Sopwith Camel and a few Legends of Chima posters. I flogged these off for a few pounds which has lowered the cost by approx 4%. Last Christmas I bought the Grand Emporium for

  24. I have my big haul from Toys R Us sales this weekend currently chilling in my trunk, literally. I'm in NY and we have a little bit of snow and freezing temps in the area. All of these Lego sets are going to their final destination tomorrow at my office/warehouse. Is it safe leaving Lego in a freezing car overnight? Or should I bring them in to the house for the time being?

So I check the site just now to see if the brickfolio values had been updated for this month and saw that indeed it had. I hit the brickfolio link to check mine but hadn't noticed I wasn't logged in. If you do that and are not logged in it takes you to an example page of a brickfolio. The value of the mock page says 142.00 or something like that.......thinking it was mine, I started to panic lol. I finally realized I wasn't logged on and let out a sigh of relief, I almost thought I had a ton of building to do!
